Great video. Love it. I have already done this type of free motion quilting watching your previous video to make a baby quilt(almost a month ago). I will try to find time to stitch something otherwise I will link my the baby quilt I did.
Can you mix up the lines and stippling ect on the same quilt?Or should I use just one of them? I pieced a baby quilt top and I'm a little nervous on what to do. It's just squares but I am being a bit of a chicken about this.
@UtahGmaw99 - Stop worrying! You can use stippling over the whole quilt, or you can stipple the squares, or you can stipple in between, or you can use a million designs in every inch! The point is being able to pick a design you CAN quilt and that YOU like. that's the most important thing. Follow along next week to see how I start quilting this quilt with Stippling and maybe that will solve some worries for you.
Leah, Thank you! This is an awesome video. I really enjoy your style, You make it seems so easy and are not boring as others. Can you please tell me what type of presser foot you have on your machine in this video. I don't think I own anything like that. What do I do?
I would not have thought of stitching in the ditch with free motion. I will give this. Try. I can see how it would be more convenient once your skill levels were built
@Tabascopeppers - There's a lot of different options when it comes to getting better grip on the quilt. Some quilters will use sticky lotion, some use the rubber finger grippers sold in office supply stores. Just keep your eyes peeled for products that will help you get a better grip.
Awesome, awesome video Leah! You make it look so easy! Is your stitching portion of the vid in real time, as I'm trying to guage how fast your needle is vs. your hands (which look like they are moving the quilt quite slowly)? You have me convinced to sitd with a fm foot rather than a w.foot - looks so much easier! (But then, YOU are stitching...not me!) tfs...great vid this week!
@a1angiem - None of the videos were sped up this week so everything is in real time. Stitching on a line is always going to be a bit slower so you stay right on the line.
You are so beautiful, Leah!

@SilverHammer1010 - I'm using a "free motion foot" or "darning foot" which you can find at my quilt shop - Day Style Designs - google it!
I take the generice foot and modify it to make it work better. It's really very simple and not difficult to do!

Leah, keep up the education. You teach in such a simplistic fashion. I enjoy your emails as well. Thanks Dee

Are there little thumbtack things I can use instead of gloves? I'm claustrophobic and can't wear gloves like that.
