  • think about me every now and then... the last words John said to Paul :´)

  • people should read the story of this video

  • Where did you get the vid at 1:58 and all those young years of them (short cut hair)

  • @misscarly12 Just look for the "Love Me Do" videoclip =)

  • I'm crying and smiling at the same time!!! Beautiful! =') A great combination of pictures... with the music... aww!!! Very touching, really. :')

  • I'm a man, but I do love these guys ever.

  • my old friend what a great song!!! it make me feel so sad and glad...!!! a mix of emotions!!!

  • Beautiful song, and beautiful slideshow you've put together. Very touching in combination of the music. That picture at 2:57 is so great, I would love to have that in higher resolution, if anyone know where to find it, I would be very grateful.

Peace and love, everyone, peace and love.

  • @BeatlesBootlegSongs I've got it in black and white. Do you want me to send it to you?

  • You see, Paul said that he and John told each other whoever died first would send a message to the other. This is it. Carl said this song just came to him. The beautiful spirit of John for sure.

  • over yonder, John is waiting for his Ole Pal Paul, making other incredible songs..

  • JOhn And Paul=DREAMTEAM

  • 1:00-1:02 is saddening

  • :(

  • I miss Carl

  • 2:57 :( paul is sad

  • If Carl said this song was from John then it was. The Beatles have stated some of their music was from the "spheres" and who is to doubt it? Carl was channeling John for sure.

  • This is making me cry D;

  • I have a strange story about this song. On Aug 3rd my mother in law passed away. Legally she was never really my mother in law, I had lived with her son and we had two daughters together. Her son and I split years ago, but she and I had a strong connection. Two day after she passed , I was looking for the song 'I'll be on my way", but when I looked for it this was the first song on the list. I had never heard it before. It has not appeared since, unless I type it in. Now I listen everyday.

  • ;D

  • OMG!, I'M crying like a child...being over a 40 years old beatle fanas I'm it show us the power of love has no barriers at all...

  • JOHN'S VOICE IS SO DEEP!

  • @GeorgeHarrisonLuver1 It's not John's...It's Carl Perkins

  • JOHN Y GEORGE SE FUERON A LA INMORTALIDAD......THE BEATLES NUNCA TE OLVIDAREMOS...

  • hearing Paul at the end say "my old friend" got me crying :'(

  • Que guapo era Paul de joven!!!

  • a strong, deep and beautiful friendship...I think they needed each other

  • beautiful friendship....both of them.

  • 2:57 WHERE DID YOU GET THAT PICTURE!?!?!!? D:

  • That was beautiful :~)

  • i'm crying :')

  • Oh Godddd.....I'm crying i'm crying :'

  • When Paul passes away, this song will be playing when john and paul meet again in heaven. i bet they will hug it out and cry, and then john would make a sarcastic remark. lol

  • @scarface12347 don't freak me out. Why are so many people talking about Paul-dying!! He can live up to 100 years or more since he's a vegetarian

  • If you love John you have to love Paul, if you love John and Paul, you have to love George, if you love John, Paul and George, you have to love Ringo, and if you love John, Paul, George and Ringo, you just have to love The Beatles.

Long live the 4 kings of music. (:

  • the other voice is paul voice??

  • Of all the John/Paul videos on here this one made me cry the most. That story is beautiful

  • oh God! im crying! crying..

  • I keep listening to this song and everytime I hear it I cry for ages :'(

  • Lovely song <3 and a great story behind it <3

  • I can't find a copy of this song anywhere.... I can't get enough of it. Love love love it. I listen to it every single day. I wonder if Paul listens or thinks of it anymore. It is a complete tear jerker and tugs at the heart in a way that no other song has. Their obvious friendship was so obvious on stage and that is why we can't forget them or let them go. I think as long as Paul carries on, John will live on. Brotherly, family, honest love. Thank you so must for posting this.

  • I loved the last one too... What a great friendship...

  • 2:58 Awwww... This is representing that Paul still remembering John as a best friend, as a brother!

  • dearly beuatiful..

  • lennon looks like merlin

  • "Will you think about me, my old friend?" awwwn...

  • you can hear pauls voice at the end. heartbreaking. nearly made me cry

  • Friendship thrown away for... foolish things. Unfortunately. Things that happen to everyone.

    Beautiful video, indeed.

  • Oh my gosh, now after reading the story I can't stop crying!!!

  • Tears. Tears streaming!!!

  • Aaw... I'm crying. So beautiful song, and beautiful video.

  • if friendship was alive somewhere it was when they were together..

  • This is so sad...

  • This is a wonderful song. I am holding the tears back.

  • why John??? the world regrets your death since 1980... six years before I was born, but even so I love his music and he's my hero because he fought against USA and their corupt govermen... God Bless John Lennon!!!

  • great song!!! it makes me think in all my friends... and the good and bad moments!!!

  • 1:45 my favorite moment. i love this (:

  • Beautiful... :,)

  • I was not aware of this song. Is that George on the guitar and Ringo on the drums. It really is an amazing song. The Beatles loved Carl Perkins, and what a nice tribute to these guys.....wow.

  • reading the descriptiona nd knowing about the story, then hearing this song and the video... it's hard not to let the tears go down over the keyboard.

Man, thanks for this beautiful video and song, and the story.

Really made me wish to see this greatd duo of Paul and John finally together again.

    They were really soul brothers.

  • Awesome production of this Carl Perkins song. Carl was one of the Fab Four of Country, the Million Dollar Quartet. Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis & Carl Perkins.

  • made me cry

  • Is a friendship forever!!

  • the song writers of our generation , love them , love george and love ringo .

  • do you all think Paul & Ringgo drop by at this youTube and read all this comment about them?

Okay - this is sad. i'm holding back tears now.

  • I CANT BELIEVE SOME PEOPLE STILL THINK PAUL IS REALLY DEAD LMAO, GET HELP FFS

  • if john saw this video... paul and john together...

  • doesn't sound like lennon and mccartney

  • @xcaper66

That's because it's not. It's sung by Carl Perkins with backing vocals by McCartney. The title says Lennon-McCartney because that's who the song is for, it's a tribute to them.

  • It made me cry...

  • john lennon looks like joe cheng

  • made me cry....miss john so much

  • that first picture creeped me out, to be honest.

  • THE BEATLES FOREVER!!!!

  • Thank you for posting this... It really touched my heart... you got me crying here! Your insight and information gave me a new insight of John and Paul's complex relationship.... Thank you again. This is simply beautiful!

  • It was a song delivered from John straight from heaven to Paul.

  • The real Paul & John w/even George are reunited together in Heaven now.

(Yes I believe the last testamony of George Harrison film)

  • Haappy birthday Mr Lennon siempre estaras en nuestros corazones <3

  • Happy birthday john, you,'ve changed us all.

  • This is so hard to watch.......Why did he have to die?? =*(

  • Happy Birthday Mister Lennon!

  • For sure, millions have considered what our lives would be like had John Lennon lived these past thirty years. We were meant to figure it out by ourselves- without John- and humanity, as a whole, has miserably failed. It has been a serious test of faith in life. Every broken heart ascended with John's spirit, reaching a level we would not have made without him. Herein lays the blessing and the true gift of John Lennon. Peace.

  • This lovely story is true? I mean is like the story about the white feather (a spooky but lovely) There's a couple of versions of this Beatle anecdote but all of them agree in the part of John words: My old friend, won't you think about me every now and then? Probably if this is a fact is the most amazing story i ever hear in my life as a Beatle fan.

  • @syleriam No, it's totally true. The only reason we know about it is because Carl Perkins talked about it during an interview for a 1997 documentary. As he was telling this story, & singing the song, Paul McCartney just happened to call the studio. Perkins was amazed, turned to the camera & said "You tell me this boy has not got a connection to the spirit world!” Spooky!

  • where can i get a copy of this song? i don't think it is on itunes.

  • Made me cry too...very strange this song would "come" to Carl at that time when he was getting ready to leave...maybe it was a message to Paul from John...you never know...

  • you made cry, also

  • The video and song are just lovely (I gotta stop watching these things, I'm crying all the time) but I'm not sure I believe the story. What is the source on this? I am a hardcore Beatles fanatic and I have never ever heard that John & Paul hooked up RIGHT before John's death. Never. It is my understanding they had not been together since the late 70's. Can someone post what the source is on this story?

  • @HeartInThe60s

They were communicating with each other till John*s death but as Macca said it was just telephone conversations. The last time they spoke was the day before his death.

Maybe this story about Dakota and writing the song is just fabrication like many other things.

  • @HeartInThe60s It's from a 1998 video (VHS) called "Carl Perkins with Paul McCartney: My Old Friend."

  • thank you for that! Awwww that was beautiful!

  • My buddy Carl Perkins-My

  • soothing,and touching

  • Lovely lovely.. very beautiful and moving!! ♥

  • Haha, gettin choked up. Beautiful song and story

  • The voice of Paul in this song makes me cry

  • @luzeeanabeat Me too. :(

  • great song, beautiful lyrics.

  • The part in the information box saying Paul visited John in November 1980 probably isn't true. I have read a lot about the final days of John Lennon and such a happening has never been mentioned. Unfortunately, there most likely wasn't such a happy ending of the Lennon-McCartney relationship. I encourage GeorgeHarrisonLuver to remove this story, as we wouldn't want false stories spreading. It also serves to cast doubt as to the authenticity of the Carl Perkins story.

  • @winstono75 No, you are correct. It definately was not true. They did get together a few times in the 70's and kept it a secret for obvious reasons. Paul and Linda showed up outside their door singing Christmas carols, both Paul and Yoko have referred to that and of course Paul and John jammed together during John's "Rock and Roll" sessions from which tapes exsist. It's always tempting to fabricate a pleasent ending but it never happened.

  • @lakefloor A couple of days ago I came across the 1984 Playboy interview with Paul McCartney, in which he states that he was happy that the last time he spoke to John over the phone it wasn't one of their angry conversations. They talked about family and John wanting to get back into the music business.

  • @winstono75 That's good to know. I heard they were no longer angry. I'm sure in that interview Paul was refering to the last time he recalled speaking with Lennon. If John was talking about returning to music, that would have been prior to assembling musicians and going into the studio to record Double Fantasy. So Paul probably wouldn't have spoken to him at least a year before he died. I have no idea where this story came from, only that it's untrue.

  • the story is so touching

  • wonderful video thanks for making it!!!

  • Thank you for a truly great video!!

  • why john lennon had to go :( i cannot understand why john just disapeered :( paul and john...are just past know... you know the song made me cry but the real thing wich made me feel so sad was " "Will you think about me, my old friend?".

A few weeks later, John died. :¨( rest in peace john winston lennon

  • aww it made me cry :(

  • ohh couldn't avoid crying after reading everything! it's beautiful! :')

  • i think it's "treated me like kin" not king, kin means treating like family.

  • @8aetroya8 Yes, it's definitely kin. It carries more warmth than using the word king.

  • made me cry

  • @8aetroya8 It made me cry too.

  • paul is singing the last sentence in the song :D "Yeah... My old friend" from 3:09!!!!

  • They did bond again! On the phone, right before John's death. According to a reporter who was hanging out with John, John was really looking forward to Paul visiting. Time apart had made them realize that they were like brothers, they were destined to be friends and grow old together whether they liked it or not. They had also hung out a few times in the early 70's, especially in '74 when John had separated from Yoko.

  • @superman11978 - who is this reporter and where is this published?

  • They would have bonded again. John and Paul. No doubt about it.

  • sad songs.. sad stories.

  • My good God. Having read the story and listening to the song, I think it is impossible not to cry.

  • umm i have a question was paul mccartney singing in this song?

  • Yes he was. He's singing the harmony you hear in the background.

  • that is Carl Perkins from Jackson,tn and Paul McCartney

  • makes me want to cry!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful video! I've never heard the studio version of this before, and Paul's harmony is beautiful. I love this story, I've read it often online. Apparently Carl Perkins explains it on a dvd, but I've never heard it. Still though, very beautiful.

  • Tomorrow there will be anniversary...of John*s death. Dear fans!

Let us pray and forget all bad.

We all love Beatles. Let love them as an entity-not love only Paul OR John OR George, OR Ringo but love Beatles-Paul AND John AND George AND Ringo!

People loved Beatles earlier as entity. But after their breakup when each of them chose his own way somebody liked more John, other ppl-Paul etc.....

  • Right on, katrin2801! War is over if you want it - on any level. All you Beatle fans should stop fighting about who's the greatest and just be grateful for all the great music they have made, both as a group and in their solo years.

  • Love 0:27& 2:56. They were all brothers.R.I.P. John. We miss you dreadfully.

  • Although you had posted this video a year ago, I just discovered this. I read your story about Carl Perkins with Paul & Linda McCartney. I also read the lyrics then I felt a totally emotional. I never got over the death of John Lennon and I still feel anguish of the circumstances surronding his death. I still miss him! The thing is Paul knew him best because they were mates ever since they were teenagers in Liverpool.

  • sad to know that they will never met again in life like the song goes. screw mark david chapman RIP John Lennon october 9 1940 to december 8 1980

  • I was born on October 10! He is also my favourite Beatle, if not my favourite person. John is my hero and he inspired me incredibly. I wasn't even born when he died, but he still managed to touch my heart :)

  • no, it's october 9
