Well, probably saved his life if he really had a tachycardia, but the shocks could have been inappropriate, meaning that he didn't really have a tachycardia. ICD's give shiock when they detect too fast heart rhythm that can be fatal. But sometimes due to several factors they detect tachycardia alhtough the rhythm is normal...

i have a implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) also... I have been shocked 5 times in a span of 18 hrs ... That shock probably just saved his life...

ATTENTION!: The reason he got a heart attack, is all of his stress of proving Co2 was not only human made, but universal made. Nobody believes in him, even when his statistics was true. He is a scientist, he used all his carrier to prove it. Finally he got his chance to state it. But then all the other scientist tried to prove him wrong all the time. They were all after him. He got so stressed and a heart attack got him. And yes he is still alive with a pacemaker.

@Rebinho14 Everyone knows CO2 is both man-made and natural. I think your mischaracterizing what he was debating. What Svensmark was most likely debating was cosmic rays influence on cloud seeding. for information on this look up Kirkby and CERN on nature [dot] com and click on the link for August 2011. Note: While cosmic rays may induce the seeding of clouds it is far to small a forcing to matter to climate change.
