Hi, I tried posting a clip from a film awhile back, and it was removed by the company, so my question is how do you get permission to show these clips? I would appreciate if you helped, thanks.
"WATCH YOUR THOUGHTS FOR THEY BECOME WORDS. WATCH YOUR WORDS FOR THEY BECOME ACTIONS. WATCH YOUR ACTIONS FOR THEY BECOME HABITS. WATCH YOUR HABITS FOR THEY BECOME YOUR CHARACTER, AND WATCH YOUR CHARACTER FOR IT BECOMES YOUR DESTINY! WHAT WE THINK WE BECOME."
Watch your thoughts for they become actions... Watch your actions for they become habits... Watch your habits for they become your character and watch your character for it becomes your destiny! WHAT WE THINK, WE BECOME! These lines I believe are inspired by THE LAW OF ATTRACTION
I don't know if the, "What we think we become" soliloquy is original to this film, but it's brilliant. I know that the wisdom is certainly not new, but the phrasing of it, THIS phrasing, is so perfect. Succinct, efficient, and poetic.
As someone who really needs to live and learn this lesson right now, these lines are particularly timely. At the risk of sounding very silly, I just typed those 6 line out and will put them on my fridge. And my cupboards. And my mirror.
@theincredible7 she spoke in a granny short of voice but faintly i can hear 'whatch you thoughts so they become your words, whatch your words so they become your actions, watch your actions so they become your habits, watch you habits so they become your character and watch your character for it becomes your destiny! what we think is what we become!" I hope it's correct!
Ho-ly cow! She has Margaret Thatcher down pat. I can't wait to see this film. As much as I loved Viola Davis in "The Help", if Meryl Streep doesn't win the Oscar for this role, I don't know what she needs to do to get another one!
This is amazing. Meryl Streep is unrecognisable here. Obviously, make-up plays a part, but her voice, facial expressions, and accent, completely lead me to believe that this is actually Margaret Thatcher herself.
This is an amazing performance. I don't see how anyone could steal the Oscar from this.
@ard446 No margaret Thatcher is Not an actress she was a former prime minster and politician who is now a very old lady Meryl Streep is an actress that is playing her in this film.
speechless! She is so convincing. I cannot detect Meryl ... I only see an old demented Iron Lady! WOW! Of course, she deserves her third Oscar more than I can tell, but even if she will not succeed in that, she already succeeded in being the most brilliant actress of the second half of the 20th century and beyond! And THAT FACT speeks for itself!
only criticism is that the film was abit short - but that says alot about how compelling the film is. For those who were looking for more about her political life I guess a proper documentary would be more appropriate. However the director has taken one slide out of many and has shown some aspects of what is a very complex character and story and in that context, it has been beautifully created. As for Meryl Streep, she does not need an Oscar
the film focussed too much on thatcher as an old lady, rather than her politics and her life as the PM, it was also too rushed, trying to tell the story from memories as an old lady
@ectomy1235 "the film focussed too much on thatcher as an old lady, rather than her politics and her life as the PM, it was also too rushed, trying to tell the story from memories as an old lady"
Um.. yes, that was the point of the film. It wasn't a movie about politics!
@ectomy1235 Well.... ok, well when you write your own screenplay you can make it about whatever you want. This film was about the memories of a strong leader seen through the eyes of the vulnerable old lady she is now.
@ctnelsonuk well im not planing to make a screenplay, does this mean ill have to read a book about the iron lady to found out about her politcs??? She does have dementia doesnt she? Somebody told me she does now
@ectomy1235 Yep - you'll have to read a book about her politics to find out about her politics. And yes, Thatcher has dementia and hence the film focusing on that. Perhaps you should wait to see the movie and then you can always go and read up on her policies. It's not hard, there's plenty of information out there!
Remarkable acting! She is simply amazing! Who cares if she wins the Oscar or not - this will not change the fact that she is arguably the best actress ever lived. Peter O'Toole has never won an Oscar for acting, Hitchcock has never won it, Kubrick has never won it for direction too: its about what you have created and what you leave behind you for the generations, not some useless awards...and this acting will be remembered!
By my name you can clearly tell that I love and adore everything about Meryl Streep, but I just got lost in this, it's like it isn't her. This is virtually perfect - and that isn't me being bias, that is me watching as a human, not as a die hard Meryl Streep lover.
Those lines comes from the book seven habits from the hightly effective people also from the james gospel
