a fact for those that didn't understand the storyline: when you get to 4:19 on jaquio's part, it isn't really the jaquio talking in the story line. its actually the demon (the final boss from the first ninja gaiden) talking through jaquio. jaquio was just merely the demon statue's follower. ashtar was merely the pawn. when he says "the spirit released after our battle flowed into my body" the demon possesed jaquio's dead body. thats why the final boss is a full reincarnated demon just to show u

To the people asking the red clones are power up, you can have up to 2 they will follow you mimic your moves be it atacking with the sword or with ninpo, since they follow your movement a bit delayed it is posibble to make them float mid air wich can be really helpful on boss fights.

In the first Ninja Gaiden, if you died on the final boss, they sent you back to the beginning of the chapter... And 6-2 is a bitch. But they did restore your health in between the different boss phases. Personally, I think this is easier. At least it only takes you back to the beginning of the stage.
also, if you don't got a continue, you can pass the level and go straight to the demon's first form and skip the jaquio fight, wich, personally, I found to be the hardest (bastard, he fuck me in both games)
yes it was originally an arcade game but vastly different than this one. the arcade version focused entirely on fighing and very little platforming and obstacles. the graphics were also far better. sadly there was never a sequel in the arcade to the original ninja gaiden :(
high scores were important in the 1980s because video games were very popular in the arcades. and at arcades, you were known by your high score. tecmo never got rid of it for some reason. makes no sense. mega man 1 had a score counter but capcom realized it had no point.
I give a lot of props to those who were able to beat this WITHOUT EVER USING SAVE STATES, WALKTHROUGH/GUIDE, OR CHEATS!!! The first 6 levels are very doable, but this stage will give any gamer a tough time. I mean, you have to fight three bosses at the end and your health doesn't refill after each battle. Anyone who says this game is easy is LYING!!! I beat this game legit back at the time but I'll admit it took me a shit load of tries.

Damn you're good. I couldn't even beat the last boss on an emulator with save states for christ's sake! (I got to the last form with one hit point) Shows how much I suck. That or I just don't have the patience to learn all of the patterns or do the 'save-attack-get hit-reload-attack-don't get hit-save-attack etc.' emulator method. Anyway, great job.

yes it was originally an arcade game but vastly different than this one. the arcade version focused entirely on fighing and very little platforming and obstacles. the graphics were also far better. sadly there was never a sequel in the arcade to the original ninja gaiden :(

high scores were important in the 1980s because video games were very popular in the arcades. and at arcades, you were known by your high score. tecmo never got rid of it for some reason. makes no sense. mega man 1 had a score counter but capcom realized it had no point.

I give a lot of props to those who were able to beat this WITHOUT EVER USING SAVE STATES, WALKTHROUGH/GUIDE, OR CHEATS!!! The first 6 levels are very doable, but this stage will give any gamer a tough time. I mean, you have to fight three bosses at the end and your health doesn't refill after each battle. Anyone who says this game is easy is LYING!!! I beat this game legit back at the time but I'll admit it took me a shit load of tries.

I remember playing this as a kid and it was so much fun. I hated Jaquio he gave me nightmares lol. I used to love finishing the game. NES had some great games.

ha, ha, ha... not funny. Although it's not as hard as people make it look, i'll give u that point. The first ninja gaiden is way harder. It IS possible to beat NJ2 on your first playtrhough within a couple of hours, but don't go saying it easy.

Damn you're good. I couldn't even beat the last boss on an emulator with save states for christ's sake! (I got to the last form with one hit point) Shows how much I suck. That or I just don't have the patience to learn all of the patterns or do the 'save-attack-get hit-reload-attack-don't get hit-save-attack etc.' emulator method. Anyway, great job.
