@sepkhanhhung No. It's not that he says. He says "I met two French girls buying frugts at the Minh Mang mausoleum. They are French but speak English very well...."
Thanks so much for sharing your videos :). I enjoy it very much, especially this video,it's so touching :). Vietnamese people are friendly, and kind-hearted :)
Prosperity only exists in big cities in Vietnam like Hanoi and Saigon, but 80% of Vietnamese population live in poor, underdeveloped rural areas. While corrupt communist leaders like Prime minister Nguyen tan Dung and President Nguyen minh Triet are multi-billionaires, a regular Vietnamese earns only $1 per day. More than 200,000 Vietnamese women from poor families, many as young as ten, are working as prostitutes and sex slaves in China, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Korea.
These 2 men speak a heavily accented Central Vietnamese. As with other countries, the language carries regionnal variations as to vocabulary and accents, with differences even within the same geographic area.
The men came from the countryside, but certainly not Hue. The Hue accent is much lighter and easily understandable to other Vietnamese. All I can gather is they were talking about 2 Western women, speaking good English, who stopped to buy "chom chom", rambutans.
Well, they said you guys are so friendly and kind. They met some Westerners (they mean French) in Tu Duc Tomb are speaking fluent English. And they wondered why Westerners are very friendly.
Listen to you two squabbling like two schoolgirls. Anyway, it's a nice dialect from a part of the world I want to visit again. I am from the rural Midwestern United States--Iowa state. My father speaks a fairly distinct rural dialect, not a drawl at all, but the grammar is unique to the area I am from. I know how to speak that dialect, but don't use it professionally.
Vietnam is a wonderful country that I want to return to. Who are you two?
well, i must say this, you met those guys who speak northerners' voices which many southerners have difficulties hearing them.
i speak vietnamese fluently, and i can't even understand them much. put it in this way, north vietnamese people's accents are like really bad Texans' accents.
Thank you for sharing. It's true, that non-Texans have a lot of trouble understanding simple English spoken in Texas. Although the accent is correctly spoken Texan, outsiders cannot understand. I agree with you--those guys were very kind gentlemen, and I hope I meet them again. Would you transcribe as much of it as you understand? I'll make subtitles.
Really. Could you give me more detail? Seriously, this guy really helped us out--I had just crashed and could have gotten killed, but this nice guy helped us--and didn't try to rip us off at all.
Ha ha.... I'm lucky to be alive. In this wreck, my wife and I slid on the pavement, rolled, and didn't break any bones. We didn't crack teeth, didn't sprain fingers--only some bumps and bruises and scrapes. We are lucky. Do you understand what they are saying?
I'm glad to hear that you're alive and well after that accident.
I'm half vietnamese and half Iranian, I speak english, french, viet, little farsi. I understand the north accent better because cause my mom is from Hanoi. But it is well understood, among the north and south vietnamese people, that the central, or Hue, accent is most difficult to understand. From what I can make out of this video, he keeps repeating how he met two "white girls" and his friend spoke english well
Well, I am pleased to meet you. The only notable Iranian in the US I know of is Casey Kasem--and he has always been proud of his heritage. Isn't Freddie Mercury also from Iran?
I would like to visit there when the political situation calms down--which I hope is soon.
Same here, Casey Kasem is actually Lebanese born american, and Freddie Mercury is British. and I'm actually Canadian. I would like to visit iran as well, and the political situation should not prevent you from going there, it's not like what you see on tv, iran has some of the most oldest and beautiful history. cyrus the great is my idol.
See!? I'm ignorant about Iranian history and culture, actually. Thank you for helping me understand more. I hope for peace between my country and yours.
These guys were wonderful! I got his address, and I will keep in touch with him. You have to understand--we just crashed. My shoulder is injured, and they were helping us. Without them, we would have been in big trouble.

Freddie Mercury was born in Stone Town on the island of Zanzibar. His parents were both PARSIS originally from Gujarat province in India.
After political unrest in Zanzibar, Freddie and his family decided it to be safer to immigrate to Britain... The rest is history hehe..

I recommend the HCM trail. It is lightly travelled, and really picturesque, compared to Hwy 1. We crashed, but that was my fault. It was good.
