There are many citizens now that can afford to buy health insurance and choose not to. kd5gua: This is the reason that all will be required to get insurance. To spread the risk out to a larger pool , so insurance can be affordable. Other wise people would only sign up when sick and drop coverage after they were well. That would bankrupt the system. Nothing is for free to get one thing you give something else up. I am a grandfather but only 57 years old. I work every day , and I mean sometimes every day. I have paid into social security for about 40 years and since I make a good living pay about the max into it. When I collect it if I do, I will get less in it than I put in(counting time value of money) and it is design that way to help less well paid workers, they get more. I am O.K. with that.I also have health care in retirement. The dog I have in this fight is concern for others not so fortunate.

Timmy - I volunteer to be apart of a Church that hosts Memorial Services for community members whose familes have little funds. It is all volunteer and FREE OF CHARGE for the families. I volunteer Tutor all year for OVER 5+ years for free and patner with a local Public School who have children who need tutoring and have no monies and we also feed the children a dinner before beginning the tutoring. I also run the "treasure chest" for the Awards portion for kids who get a reading list done=+MORE
