I love this & it's so true. I can't get over how (and why) these brutal smoking bans live on in today's world? Million's of bars & restaurants shut down & casinos lost mega business. (thank God Vegas has their own government that turned the bans down) Unemployment got worse not needed in this economy...But still the bans are in place? but heard that our state government are giving smoking licences for paying businesses to allow smoking in them. Used to work with one of those "super sensitive", "allergic" people. Purely psychological. We noticed that he could only smell and get sick when he knew someone was going out to smoke (if he was in the toilet when we went outside, he wouldn't know or complain until we came in). So we bought unused filters and left them around his car, and he'd have coughing fits every time he found one. And funny enough, he never got sick when we smoked in his office before he showed.

I actually gagged the first time I went to the country because I wasn't used to fresh air. Despite that I'd put money that if you picked a random non-smoker who's never been around smokers I've got a healthier set of lungs than they do. Second hand smoke is BS, it may contribute to things like asthma but so does the smog from cars, factories, etc.

I have to admit, my nose is VERY sensitive to smoke. I could smell a cigarette being smoked OUTSIDE a building I'm in. However, I am also allergic to it, so perhaps that's why.

This reminds me of when me and my mates were waiting for a bus...a lady next to us was on her 2nd cigarette in about 10 mins and was smoking the place out. My friend done a quick spray of deoderant on himself to which she got mad.

Is this not a wee bit out of date now? I don't think you can smoke indoors any more. I think you have to smoke outside now. I don't smoke myself, because I don't think I would like it. I don't smoke; I never have, and I never will. However I think people should be allowed to smoke as much as they damn well please. It's people like the anti-smoking brigade who need to be left broken and convulsing in a pool of their own blood and assorted bodily fluids if they dare suggest that you put out your cigarette in a clearly defined smoking section.

@Beavis26NZ I'm going to have to add a little notation here and say that smoking should be permitted whenever and where ever someone wants as long as it doesn't expose people who do not want to smoke to the 2nd hand smoke which kills several people who have never smoked in their lives. To me smoking is like religion, do it with other people who want to join in and do it in private.

Used to work with one of those "super sensitive", "allergic" people. Purely psychological. We noticed that he could only smell and get sick when he knew someone was going out to smoke (if he was in the toilet when we went outside, he wouldn't know or complain until we came in). So we bought unused filters and left them around his car, and he'd have coughing fits every time he found one. And funny enough, he never got sick when we smoked in his office before he showed.

@SaintPhoeniix I grew up around smokers, my parents smoke, my brother smokes, and they'd regularly smoke in the car. I actually gagged the first time I went to the country because I wasn't used to fresh air. Despite that I'd put money that if you picked a random non-smoker who's never been around smokers I've got a healthier set of lungs than they do. Second hand smoke is BS, it may contribute to things like asthma but so does the smog from cars, factories, etc.

I have to admit, my nose is VERY sensitive to smoke. I could smell a cigarette being smoked OUTSIDE a building I'm in. However, I am also allergic to it, so perhaps that's why.
However, if I was in a bar, I'd expect there to be smoking. I might ask someone to put it out, but if he said no, that would be the end of it.

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions then you have no concern for the health of others around you. They all damage the environment which affects the health of eveybody.
Sell your car, go live in the forest and travel only by foot or bicycle (although the production of them is also damaging). Then you can complain about smoking.

If you cared about others' health, you'd know that since smoking was banned on aeroplanes, flying has become more unhealthy. The airlines are now not compelled to recirculate the air including fresh air from outside. This results in a 6% reduction in running costs but has made flights more unhealthy than they were.

Oh - and another point to mention. The amount of scientific evidence to suggest that global warming exists is an order of magnitude greater than that to suggest that passive smoking endangers one's health.
The whole phenomenon of passive smoking being a health risk has been deeply discredited to extent that, only those who share a household with a heavy smoker for many decades are at any risk.

This reminds me of when me and my mates were waiting for a bus...a lady next to us was on her 2nd cigarette in about 10 mins and was smoking the place out. My friend done a quick spray of deoderant on himself to which she got mad.
"Hey do you mind!!? I don't want to breathe that shit in...!!" etc.
Then she goes back to fumagating the place with tobacco smoke. Not complaining just thought it was funny she would be concerned about a bit of deoderant when she's ripping through cigarettes.
