Anybody know this Gap Band cut? Goes like this. Oh you, Your what im living for. got give you my love and more, turn a key to my hearts door ooh ooh oh you know I got to feel it tonight. Dont leave me, dont ever go, dont leave me
man who you think you is steps on my shoes ill quickly slap the esh out of you, gotta another thing coming you funkinkg dummy, born and raised in the heart of the bay, cant be no punk far from a simp babe i pimps off top, shore high but stay low key doing my thing with ease, so humble but please dont diss or you will regret so checks, fresh like nikes out the box, stay sharp like a dope fade, after this knocks imma go get layed fasho gets paid on to the next one is what i say lol feeling it man.
I've read alot of comments on these GAP Band vids and everyone is all...."Where's the funk?... etc" Peep out labels like Stones Throw. They have new funk and, and lots of Funk and Soul artists that were slept on in their time.
I wish 'Funk' was still alive. The last so called funk tune was by 112 peaches & cream. It had the moog keyboard sound. Anyway. James Brown was the orginal Funk master. Then Parliament came on boad. Rick James is gone, & so is Roger of Zapp. Funk was what got your ass up & moving. R&B is our roots, & loved it, but Funk. Damn I miss it. I guess Neo-Soul is the best we have & love it.
Thankyou for the funk info. I logged on & it took a while for me to get into. But when I listened to 'we come to jam' that was pretty good. Thanks toxiclite for the toxic information. Later.
Wow! I used to have the video on VHS. Reember when we used to record videos off the tv? Anyhow, my dumbass ended up taping over most of the video. That video was dope!
My dad use to tape New York Hot Tracks and Friday Night Videos back in the early and mid 1980's and those were the only local shows (save for America's Top Ten and Video Music Box) that played videos by black artists. We did'nt get BET until the late 1980's so we settled for those programs. I still got the vhs' but unfortunatly, my dad never taped this video.
I'm actually from the 805, Santa Paula....about 10 min. from Ventura. They never play this jam though.....mostly just the main stream stuff. Rare funk doesn't get the respect it deserves anymore.
Middle American musicians have more heartland soul
