  • Middle American musicians have more heartland soul

  • They still have that Oklahoma funk, but yes California did enhance it

  • Which 1 of the backup singers did Woody's laugh?

  • Back in the day when it came out as well as today, I considered this their last good cut before the lights went out.

  • JAMM ON SUCKA!

  • Anybody catch the Woody Woodpecker laugh at the start? Anyway, RIP, brother Robert. Can definitely hear your bass playin' on this 1. God bless!

  • i've just heard tht robert wilson has passed away due to a heart attack at age 53 RIP dawg.

  • I've read alot of comments on these GAP Band vids and everyone is all...."Where's the funk?... etc" Peep out labels like Stones Throw. They have new funk and, and lots of Funk and Soul artists that were slept on in their time.

  • Those Oklahoma boys can really put down the funk.Groovy

  • @gemini19662010 they were california based and influenced though.

  • @americangangster86 I learn something new every day

  • go ahead Mr.Charlie.....ooooh weeeahh...thank you crad805oldschool

    god bless you

  • the best song!!1111!1

  • santa ana 714 me and da uso'z be rollin to dis

  • I wish 'Funk' was still alive. The last so called funk tune was by 112 peaches & cream. It had the moog keyboard sound. Anyway. James Brown was the orginal Funk master. Then Parliament came on boad. Rick James is gone, & so is Roger of Zapp. Funk was what got your ass up & moving. R&B is our roots, & loved it, but Funk. Damn I miss it. I guess Neo-Soul is the best we have & love it.

  • Luckily we still have bands like SLAPBAK keeping the funk alive

  • Thankyou for the funk info. I logged on & it took a while for me to get into. But when I listened to 'we come to jam' that was pretty good. Thanks toxiclite for the toxic information. Later.

  • agreed...Slapbak the shit!

  • @rickames ithought g funk was pretty good tho . it was more to the parliment and roy ayers funk

  • @kedordu I have to check out Roy Ayers. I didn't know he made any songs that were funk. Any refereals?

  • @rickames

cant you see me . roy ayers its on here i think . thank me later :)

  • The junk is the bomb with some Sony Hi fi earphones.

  • Slamming beats. Go Gap Band,go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow! I used to have the video on VHS. Reember when we used to record videos off the tv? Anyhow, my dumbass ended up taping over most of the video. That video was dope!

  • yeah the cartoon video was dope. clasic funk right here.

    Respect

  • This song was a top 20 R&B hit in 1985!

  • I really liked the cartoon version of this song. Where can I find it? Is it here on youtube?

  • it's on here now. just type in The Gap Band-Disrepect

  • Good lookin' out bro....cool vid, my son is gonna love it!

  • My dad use to tape New York Hot Tracks and Friday Night Videos back in the early and mid 1980's and those were the only local shows (save for America's Top Ten and Video Music Box) that played videos by black artists. We did'nt get BET until the late 1980's so we settled for those programs. I still got the vhs' but unfortunatly, my dad never taped this video.

  • NY hot tracks was the shit!!! we actually taped the video for this joint. sort of reminds me of Q 105 in Ventura,CA.

  • I'm actually from the 805, Santa Paula....about 10 min. from Ventura. They never play this jam though.....mostly just the main stream stuff. Rare funk doesn't get the respect it deserves anymore.

  • Someone had posted the video on youtube, but it was taken down. It was in my favorites, then it was gone. Dammit!

  • Damn them! Send it my way if it pops up again!

  • it's on here now just type in The Gap Band -Disrespect

  • I'LL POST POST IT

  • verry nice conrado

  • Finally! I've been waitin' for this one!!!! thx for posting!

  • Thanks for putting this song on here. I remember in broadcsting class I used the instrumental as the background music to our news pgrm.

  • One of the Gap Band's best! I hadn't heard it in yrs. then I saw it on chicanito714's page, had to get it!
