I dont think Cindy is a lebsian. She is too young to be really fit in that category. Shes a tom boy and most girls can be pretty tom boyish up til about her age. But there are masculine women who are straight and feminine men who are not gay. Jo always seemed to have more lesbian tendencies. She was tom boyish in college even.
I jerked off to the lesbian undertones at the start. Then I jerked off to Mrs. Blair petting Cindy. Then I jerked off twice to Blair's tits. This show could have only been better if that Nancy chick had more lesbian scenes with Blair and Molly Ringwald.
Funny how Lisa Whelchel wouldn't be in the episode where Natalie loses her virginity but she's more than willing to call a girl a lesbian. How Christian of her....HYPO-Christian is more like it!
This show is rarely on TV anymore. What am I saying? It's never on TV anymore, not even on TVLand. I remember watching this show when it came on reruns in the late 90's and it was mostly of the later seasons, hardly any of the ones with the original cast.
Maybe someday this show will be on reruns again like on Hallmark or something.
@gosunnyfun They are very similar, although Jo's was longer. For those interested in comparison, you can check out the Double Standard Minisode on Crackledotcom.
So....Blair is calling Cindy a lesbian? There is a part in this ep. in which Blair says "We are not here to be your flesh parade, Cindy" (or something like that, but Blair definitely said 'flesh parade' - creepy).
i kinda wish cindy and jo became friends. they're both tomboyish and they both hold a grudge against blair. well cindy's grudge really only lasted until the end of this episode but still
Great way to start off a TV series designed to teach kids of the '70s and '80s valuable life lessons, because it starts with the most basic ones of all: A.) Be yourself (as Cindy did, despite everything) and as Blair learned, B.) Never, EVER, judge a book by it's cover (more like a person by their outside appearance, but you get my drift, right, folks?)
We love to post! Just wanted to let everyone know that if you guys are enjoying Facts of Life, you should check Minisode Maniac with What the Buck on Minisodes main page, where Buck talks about this episode. Thanks!
That's not strange! My girlfriends hug (and even kiss) each other and say "I love you", but they're all straight, it doesn't mean anything. Besides, why does it matter if she is lesbian?
Anyway, happy you're uploading these, MinisodeNetwork! You rock!
Nothing, except for the time period the show was set in. Sure, they existed, but most homosexuals remained hidden from the world until recent years when they've started to come out and be proud of who they are. Plus, even if Cindy did swing that way, it wasn't a gaurantee that any of the other boarding school girls did. I guess the tomboy nature plus the possible lesbian undertone could be part of why Cindy never made it past the early seasons.
@TherealRNO uh-- what about jo? exact same character, as far as I'm concerned. i'm pretty sure they just replaced cindy with jo, not out of some sort of homophobia.
Yawn. I don't know who you're talking about. I'm assuming you're talking about politics... meaning not one gives a shit on what you think about anything right now.
@Y2p731 I'm curios as to what these 'harsh' political views might be. She's conservative. Christian. She's written books about raising children. That's not necessarily 'harsh'.
I love Mrs. Garrett! I wanna like, bake cookies and watch soap operas with her :) I can't believe Blair is such a homophobe! Lighten up Blair some girls like to say I love you to other girls that is just how life works.
And just because she isn't wearing a dress it doesn't mean she isn't a girl. But that's enough I don't think the Minisode Network wants me to rant any more :)
Are you refering to me? Then thank you. If every girl was like Blair this would be a very boring place and all the guys would be walking around sexually frustrated lol!
All that touching and hugging girls! I do NOT think that is strange. Completely UNstrange!!! Also, I like how wise Mrs. Garrett is. And the Diff'rent Strokes cast FTW!!! awesomeness.
What a sweet show!!! This is why I started watching your channel. Michael Buckley found you and shared:) Thanks for posting so many great shows. We need a new Bewitched soon.

Rumor has it...this episode was supposed to be "lesbian-friendly" but they apparently edited the stuff out.

That's the same prairie dress that Jo wore in the usual tomboy into woman transformation in Double Standard, except Jo's was blue.
