Well the special thing about Deftones is that they outgrew the whole "nu metal" term and have gone on mature and do some really original stuff. While bands like Korn kept whining about angst and shit even into their 40s, Deftones were never a whiny band and honestly, only one of their albums can really be pinpointed as Nu Metal. Still, I am not trying to convince you to like them or anything, just realize that Deftones are quite a cut above the whole Nu Metal crowd.

@2030peter Similar aspects in common, but not the same thing. Sudge Metal doesn't = Grindcore. This particular song may be closer to the latter, but the band as a whole is definitely sludge.
