  • Freakin' reat stuff. I love this channel!

  • Sometimes I forget that Elvin and all those people passed in another dimension, but sometimes seeing them playing gives me such a feeling of emptiness that poses the immediate necessity of some sort of grateful and fraternal prayer for them, whatever its form may be. Maybe all this will pass if and when it will be necessary to pay to see these materials.

  • @ndodro In the past you would need to pay to see Elvin playing, no matter if in a simple pub or in a big theater. Records were sold. That´s how they survived. Music of this greatness must be professional and musicians deserve to receive. You think Elvin would ever play for free ? Nowadays it is for free on Youtube and we should sit and say THANK GOD. The same thing happens with rare videos, my friend. If one free version exists that is because first someone paid for it or at least spent

  • money, time and effort when filming it, then saving it to other type of media, then making it possible to be seen on Youtube. If we talk about a big collection of rare videos, of course no one single collection grew up without lots of money spent. Don´t forget, as a last thing : traders also offer the TRADING option.

  • @RareJazzVideos You do not need to repeat that they deserved to be payed, surely I'm saying thanks a million times to the people posting this, and to you indeed; I was just wondering how could it turn this huge archive of jazz in the future. Maybe to discuss about this could be more interesting than commenting that X is better than Y etc.

  • @ndodro Sorry, I understood it in a complete different way. So, you are saying that probably in the future even to have access to pages like Youtube people will need to pay ... or something like that ? Oh yes, of course any conversation is better than ' who is the best, X or Y or Z ? ' .

  • @RareJazzVideos The fact is that I forgot that the situation is: I am at your home and you let me see this, this can be forgotten using regurarly YT, then, well for now it is: everybody is exposed to publicity and so, but how could it be tomorrow, regard to the rentability of the system?

  • The first part of this video indicates that this is Blues Minor, off of the Africa/Brass record, not any movement of A Love Supreme.

  • @bds9992 A Love Supreme is the name of the concert, buddy. Read the title again. A Love Supreme CONCERT.

  • It seems like the piano player just gets mad that the other guys refuse to play along with the melody, so he just stops and lets the drummer goof around for a while!

  • That's what it looks like when Sonny Fortune is digging another cat's horn break - it takes about a Freddie Hubbard to impress Sonny, and that's no shuck. Find Sonny playing Coltrane in A-dam Bimhuis Club here on tube - its 2006 - Equinox gets a full revival - revived to the point it could leave stage, order drink, rent a room.,

  • This was recorded in 1988, not 1998.

  • A killing machine. Best drummer and best pianist..after Daniel Humair and Thelonious Monk.

Please listen or FF to minute 5.25 to hear Elvin Jones's melodic drum solo. He modulates like no other. Just don't hear the drums anymore - just music.
