  • chen is a beast.

  • yup!!! his energy is overwhelming... japanese are awesome people...

  • My favorite part of the intro is when kaga picks and bites the yellow pepper and then gave a priceless smile on his face.

Thumbs up if you agree! =D

  • when he bit the big pepper thing he was probs laughing at him self wondering why the fuck he decided to bite it in the first place

  • corby and chen were so tired lol u could tell.

corby's face was like "oh...no...crap. " wen the ingredient was revealed xD

chen was jus the usual " why me...? " face xD

  • 1:50 to skip ahead

  • man, i totally hate asparagus...well the green ones at least. The white ones can be really good if prepared right

  • Those lucky judges. They can taste even more delicious creations of two excellent chefs.

  • Giles Coren, the Times food writer: "(Using foie gras) is a lazy, lazy way for a half-competent chef to make his food seem flash,

  • Andrew Zimmern: If it looks good, eat it.

  • if it looks like spam, it must be foie gras. (not good)

  • XD, yeah, now that i think about it, the three "Great delacacies of the world" don't look that good. Foie gras, caviar, and truffles? I'm sorry, but guinea pigs look more tasty than truffles.

  • Guinea Pigs do look good. I'd try one.

  • Hey, Mr. Coren: Criticizing what what you, yourself cannot create is a lazy, lazy way for a half competent writer to make his brain seem creative and thought-provoking! Go choke on a Whopper and shaddup, Giles!

  • man i love overtime battles...they bring so much intensity and adrenalin....and this one was the best by far

  • You're the best archo! Thanks!

  • When hearing the comments of the judges on the foie gras and asparagus battles I really didnt want a winner or a loser in this one..so I am VERY pleased with the result..It really says something for Fukutome, with his background in food and vast traveling experiences to say that these dishes were the best he has ever had...Chefs hats off to both of these men

  • Chen is too adorable for words.

  • From Foie Gras to Asparagus... -_-. Something about that doesn't feel right

  • Totally agree. Pretty unfair to the Chinese Iron Chef.

I guess that Colby was too scared of losing the battle so he choose the Chinese Iron Chef as his competitor. If the Chen Kenichi can make a tie with the French.

The French isn't good enough to be a proper executive chef

  • You either have a really good Chinese chef or a really crappy French chef if a foie gras battle ends in a tie.

  • I would say really good chinese chef, and beside....if you take all the glamour away, foie gras is just fatty liver....chinese cuisine got a lot of recipes for liver.....

  • Hey, same applies to caviar. Really the only one of the three great delicacies that isn't ridiculously overhyped is truffles. Caviar is nothing but fish eggs, and like you said, foie gras is fatty liver. I'd honestly take cheap Chinese takeout over caviar any day. It's very good, but like i said, overhyped.

  • Yahh, i know what you mean. But if you were to offer me caviar or chinese take out, i would take caviar. Its just that I dont come across caviar as often as i come across caviar. And did you know that all the delicacies in the world were once considered food for peasants? Lobster, foie gras, caviar, etc etc....

  • Oh yeah, trust me i know. I once traveled to Maine for a lobster boil. According to my tour guide, prisoners considered it cruel and unusual punishment to be served lobster at one point in history.

  • lol on my last post i meant to say chinese take out hahaha my bad...anyways...yahhh.....its weird how things change...It all depends on a preference..and personally, i dont believe in the hype about "cruelty" and stuff...Like to be honest, if the animal is gonna be sent to a slaugher house, does it really matter how they're treated? we all stain our hands with animal blood by drinking milk, eating cheese, eating meat or using anything related to animals......soo yah...

  • Actually how it is treated is extremely important. Animals treated poorly get sick, and in turn the people who eat the meat get sick. The USDA isn't there to look pretty. The reason our meat tastes good and why we have relatively low cases of meat-borne food illness from local producers is because of the standards of treatments.

That being said, vegans can blow me. Humans have always been omnivorous, and there aren't enough resources in the world for everyone to turn vegetarian.

  • Yahh i agree with you. I guess....animals can be looked at as a resource for human beings. Its just natural for human beings to eat mean....I mean after all, how different are we from any other mammals?

  • Well rabbits may have more impulse control than some modern teens. But other than that...

  • @FrostbittenWolf

I am not vegan nor vegetarian, and I enjoy a wide range of foods, comestibles, if you will, however, if I may respond on one point, there is not enough food in the world for everyone to be carnivores, or even omnivores for that matter, not vegetarians. In terms of energy efficiency, eating vegetarian is a far better option. If the world were to turn to a predominately vegetarian diet, most world problems of food shortage would disappear.

  • @carrara9

Well feeding the carnivores has lead to overfishing and an oversized cattle population, which subtracts possible farm land. Of course even then, there simply isn't enough crops to feed a strictly vegetarian planet. The answer is turning to alternate meat sources and balancing that with healthy amounts of fruit and vegetables.

...of course i am approaching this logically, and logic tends to be taboo in America.

  • the chefs were actualy picked well in advance. (there are reasons that this show is called refered to as pro wresling meets cooking show)

  • thank god i have found a overtime battle

  • the old quote "tell me what you eat, and I'll tell you what you are"

  • the opening theme is epic

  • when I saw this on TV years ago, they cut the episode off right when the Chairman was revealing the overtime secret ingredient

  • LOL, asparagi.

  • thnk yo argo

    your great

  • thank you for posting these! they are great to see

  • You're the best.

    :)

  • its up! great

  • I like the way he says Asparagus.
