But be aware that the anti-imperialist protests in China happened only after Koizumi kept on going to Yasukuni temple, which totally ignore the feelings of Chinese people. You can't stop olgirachy ever, if the ones in power have the money to get in power, they do that. Simple straight forward democracy is nice as we have, with a bunch of parties in the parliament. In the US they only have the two parties, sort of like the Soviet thing. You can't do anything unless you're in the Party. The parties aren't any different in their ideas, they're just like the Communist Party was back when the Soviet Union was in place.

When it goes for the case of communism, I think it is more socioeconomical problem, but the absence of hate/racism is an important factor to build equalitarian society, that's sure. Sure, even in the administrative (mostly diplomatic posts) of Imperial Japan existed fair brave people opposed to war and racism. But there are many infos in encyklopedias, in historical documents, etc. that behaviour of Imeprial Japan in China, Korea and other lands it occupied WAS brutal. Nobody can deny that. Even the article about Chiune Sugihara says "He quit his post as Deputy Foreign Minister in Manchuria in protest over Japanese mistreatment of the local Chinese."
