I'd say probably 400 bucks if you use stepper motors if you use Servos you will pay maybe something about one grand.
But you will improve your working speeds, the machine runs by it self you program once and the machine makes the parts.
You can convert all your machines and you just have to wait until the machine is done, maybe switch tools or rotate the part in the chuck or something.
I don't think these sloppy old China machines are a good candidate. They have a lot of backlash in the screws and some are not adjustable. Did you convert from a kit or from scratch?
I knew i recognized a maine accent.

I didn't convert my Lathe jet.
Backlash is no problem you can compensate that with the software, you can buy kits or design it from scratch.
I've got a Machining center at home.
My lathe is concentional, i got the big Brother of yours.
Maybe I will convert it to CNC.
But I think I will probably buy a nother machining center.
Just way more fun to use because its more capable faster more precise and more effective.
And I got the space.

You get more time for inventing and fun.
You don't need to measure everything.
