  • My kindergarten teacher played these songs on the vinyl. Mr. M actually scared me!

  • @tmntsplinterdude Think you'd have to agree though, Mr. G was a bit more terrifyingly creepy. Mr. M sounds more now to me like a typical stoner XD! My kindergarden teach actually recorded these songs onto a cassette tape for me I loved them so much. Remember the character sheets you colored and the little blowup Letter People dolls?

  • uh-oh, GET IT, Mr. M! GET IT!

  • Holy shitballs!! I haven't seen Mr. M since Kindergarten back in 86. They used to play the record of it! Memories of when life was good...

  • I think he should be called,"Mr. Win'. :)

I love this guy. And I think regarding his eating disorder, Letter People Land should be more attentive to it's citizens, rather than turn a blind eye. It's clearly a social problem at large, that this man goes into grocery stores and compulsively eats food without paying. XD

  • I love Mr. M.!!!!

  • I remember watching this is pre-school and Mr. M creeped me out! LOL I could not get that song out of my head...see... yeah...1:43 that was the part!

  • this used to be my shit!

  • @JennelleBelle, Mine too. I remember singing this particular song over and over again as a kid.

  • I wonder if they still show kids this stuff?

  • @danielawesome They've been updated over the years and changed some of the names of the people. They did away with anything negative sounding, and they also did away with anything food related (as far as the names go). Wiki has the info. :)

  • Loved the letter people! We had the inflatable letter people in our class! Good memories!

  • Haha, so did we. Kindergarten...ahhh good times.

  • I sure wish I could find these videos for my son. Although a little scary, they did a great job teaching the alphabet, unlike a lot of "educational" videos now!

  • the record covers and characters illustrations for this show used to scare the hell out of me when i was 5

  • Aww :[ When I was in kindergarten, we had a cheap newer version of them. The song was less trippy and more cartoony.

  • I haven't seen this video in 15 years. So much nostalgia.

  • The alphabet can be one serious trip man. o_O

  • woah.. this is one of my earliest memories as a kid. it brings me back. kindergarten in 1983... to second grade in 85. super socks, horrible hair. i had the letter people records. i watched these puppet shows, they were on channel 13 in new york when tv was... less evolved

  • Wow I never thought Id see the letter people again. I loved this show when I was growing up back in the early 90's. Some of the shows scared me, I think one even made me cry, but I learned from the best. The memories are great.

  • I went to Kindergarden in 2001 and we learned the Letter People! My Kindergarden teacher was the best! Mr. M was my favorite of them all! We had the little inflatable versions of them :)

  • I went to Kindergarden way before you, and Mr. M is the only one I remember. The only reason I even thought to look this up was due to mental_floss!

  • @ElliRoxx yea we had those two they were different from these. they changed them because they thought they had bad influences on kids...

  • I was in Kindergarten ten years ago and I remember this. This has to be my favorite letter person because my name is Megan.

  • @lilbeatlesfangirl4 yea these were the old (and much better) letter people. Today they are different because for many reasons they thought these ones had bad influences on kids.......

  • Actually my kindergarten class did watch the original letter people.

  • I've heard of the letter people from my younger siblings, but was never formally introduced to them when I was learning the alphabet in school.

Looking at this now, I really feel like I've been robbed.

  • I sung this song for my 2yr old niece. This is about the 20th time we've watched this video. LOL

  • I saw this when I was in kindergarten in 1991. Now when I see it again, I can't help but see why Americans are obese.

    Catchy tune though.

  • Wow that was fantastic. I was telling my kids age 6, 4, and 2 about this song and they thought is was hilarious when I sang it. I was in kindergarten in 1978 in Texas City, Texas when i learned this song. Ahhhh the memories.

  • I remember when I was in kindergarten the teacher would pass around coloring sheets of the letter people. We would watch the show every friday.

  • I had never seen these videos, however, back in kindergarten and first grade, my teachers would play this stuff on the record player. Mr. M's song is the one I remember the best.

  • I remember Mr. M. from kindergarten which for me was 10 years ago. Of course I love M because my name is Megan.

  • We watched this in pre-school - around 79. I also had the 45's with all the songs to all the characters. Was kinda pointless, considering I never had a record player as a kid.

Still remember that theme song like the back of my hand.

  • like many of you, i had these video series in my kindergarden class. it really says something that we all not only remember it, but we also remember the lyrics. I guess that really proves these videos work. If I ever have kids, I am showing them the letter people.
