  • I wouldn't trust that Christina, she has the face a of a bitch.

  • please dont be mean to joan lets not forget joan is a beautifull human being

  • Wow, she's lit. Too bad there wasn't a Betty Ford clinic back then for movie stars with alcoholism, although they did have an AA group for famous people in Hollywood. She may not have remembered the abuse she inflicted on Christina because of her sickness. It's the nature of the beast.

  • I don't know if Joan was an abusive mother, rumours are everywhere. Who really knows?

But Joan always dressed to the nines, the picture of elegance.

  • @cheeriosinabowl Indeed she was a very elegant lady.

  • @cheeriosinabowl Indeed she was a very elegant lady.

  • Indeed she was a very elegant lady.

  • Do your research. Many people who know Joan personally during the time Christina was a child did come forward in her defense. Many say Christina was a brat as a child and never outgrew it. Joan knew that Christina was writing a book and that is why she did not inherit a thing.

  • See how Joan had to grab and drag Christina off the stage. Christina wanted to be the star!

  • she was apparently bipolar. But doesnt that just mean bitch anyway

  • Joan was very visibly drunk here, you can tell that Jerry Lewis wanted her to keep moving along after she said her piece.

  • Wonderful woman. 2 out of 4 children ungrateful. Book for making money from Joan's fame, as Christina could not make her own success.

  • Christina says "CUZ I'M NOT 1 OF UR FANNNNNS !!! " & Joan Freaks

  • Mommie Dearest I don't think Christina wanted Fame & Fortune.... I think after living through what she did, she wanted the World to know what a Real kind of Person Joan really was. But None of us was there so we can only go by the movie of what she said happened.

Mommie Dearest is on right now OVAT channel

  • @DorPurseFreak LOL...Im watching it right now too on OVAT channel in TX.

  • Was she the inspiration for Dame Edna Everage?

  • Look at how Joan drags her off the stage at 5:00. Like she is dragging along a piece of her property, she thinks of Christina as a possesion that can be used to get what she wants.

  • @Tanzanite800 probably because the attention had gone off her to her daughter, she hated that, a very jealous woman, sad really!

  • She must've been drunk here.

  • What I find fascinating is that most people who judge Joan Crawford as a monster haven't even read Christina's book. They've watched the movie, which doesn't even depict the book accurately. Joan Crawford had four children, but in the movie she only has two.

  • Usually if someone is abused, they don't write a tell all book about it. Christina obviously wanted attention, fame, and money!

  • @xxcharmed1xx -- How do you know what she was feeling. Have you ever been abused? Probably not, but I have and I can tell you that sometimes speaking your peace is the ONLY way to heal and to feel any sort of justice in a world where people sometimes support the abuser, while lashing out at the victim.

  • @lndialnk I was abused in a way that makes the Mommie Dearest version of Joan look like a saint. I don't believe Christina. Especially when she told her story after Joan died and with each new edition, adds more.

  • @madmravyn What about this... what if Christina told just *some* truths, and *some* of those truths were then way exaggerated, and then from there made up some stuff in order to fill remaining space in a book, and the lies of course were made up to sell more copies??!!

  • Jesus Christ! I can't believe all these nasty comments. As if any of you people knew her in the first place, or would even have the opportunity to get to know her. Such judgement. Such hate. And so much envy. How pathetic! If you really want to know about Joan Crawford, do some research on her friends. Birds of a feather flock together.

  • @GayzNTheHood Pull your head out of your butt and watch the movie Mommy Dearest.

  • PSYCHO= narcissism, fake charm, no real personality, selfishness, grandiosity and much more .this woman was a monster, she had no real personality and was a manicac. sad in those days a lunatic like her could have a baby delivered to her door by a boyfriend as a gift or token. she used the children for a persona. what an awful woman she was.a total sociopath.

  • @sweetkittytwine Wow, so you believe everything you see in a fictional movie based on a fictional book? You don't think maybe Christina had a little bit of an axe to grind after being cut out of the will? Use your brain before posting nonsense.

  • So how fast could she drag Christina off the stage! Geez!

  • She was crazy! What a performance, it was like she was winning an academy Award and giving a million dollars. Sad to see the old washed up has been!

  • part 3- v code on axis i- parent- child relational problem

  • part 2- for axis I ethier alcohol dependence and obsessive compulsive disorder. axisIII- no diagnosis because she claimed no medical issus

axis IV- problems with primary support group ( birth family), family problems, and recent losses (death of her 4th husband)

GAF- 70 ( relatively functioning well, with few symptoms)

however, she didn't take stock in psychoanaysis so she would have never agreed to be diagnosed in the first place

  • actually she would have been more histronic. histronic is more of the "showy type. a narcissist is more of the power hungry miltary/ ceo type. i am a master's level therapist/assessor. i would not give her an axis II diagnosis because her axis I diagnosis may have affected the personality.

  • drink much??

  • Oh WHO CARES? Blah Blah Blah...JOAN was so INCREDIBLE, get over it!

  • @djwes01 Yeah, incredibly cruel to rip/buy a 16 day old baby from its mothers arms.

  • Joan is drunk as Cooter Brown. lol

  • Christina was beautiful, from the glimpse I saw of her before Joan dragged her away from Jerry!

  • Joan looks so full of herself! @Savedtoxic, I completely agree!!

  • She *does* seem awfully controlling of her daughter in that clip.

  • v...if people made false accusations about you!!

  • Nobody has any right to judge Joan Crawford. None of you know the TRUTH so just SHUT UP for goodness sake you all act like you knew her in and out!! Just shut your faces and stop acting so sure of yourselves!! Joan Crawford was a busy person, she didn't have time to sit around on stage while her daughter talks to that guy. She was a huge celebrity she had things to do! So for future reference, don't act like you know someone when you really don't, I'm sure you wouldn't like It one bit if people

  • JOAN WAS JEALOUS OF HER OWN CHILD. AND CHRISTINA TRIED AND TRIED TOO LOVE JOAN. JOAN LOVED MORE ON GUYS THEN CHRISTINA.!!. THE OTHER DAUGHTER OF JOAN,S SAYING SHE WAS A GOOD MOM, SHE LOOKED FUCKED UP! LIKE SHE WAS AFRAID TOO TALK ABOUT JOAN. BUT ANY WAYS. jOAN WAS WEIRD!> SHE EITHER HAD A DRINKING,PROBLEM A JEALOUS PROBLEM ARE SHE WAS BIPOLAR!!@@

  • KINDA OF LIKE KATE PLUS 8.???. SHE WANTS ATTENTION ALL ON HER SELF. CHRISTINA DID THEATER WHEN SHE WAS IN BOARDING SCHOOL. WHEN JOAN COULDNT MAKE IT TOO EVENTS,CHRISTINA COVERD UP FOR HER. I BELIEVE EVERY WORD, CHRISTINA SAID IN HER BOOK AND IN THE MOVIE,MOMMIE DEAREST. JOAN WANTED ALL THE ATTENTION ON HER. AND NOT ON CHRISTINA!. CHRISTINA IS VERY ,VERY PRETTY. DID YOU SEE HER PULL HER ARM SO FAT TOWARD THE PHONES?. (COME ON CHRISTINA U ARE HERE TOO WORK).

  • JOAN CRAWFORD. ALWAYS WANTED ATTENTION ON HER AT ALL TIMES.

IF THEY BRING UP CHRISTINA ARE HER OTHER KIDS. JOAN GOES NUTZ!. I THINK SHE WAS EITHER BIPOLAR. ARE. A DRUNK!. SHE DIDNT LIKE CHRISTINA GETTING ALL THE ATTENTION FROM THE MEDIA ARE BY OTHER PEOPLE. CHRISTINA WASNT JEALOUS OF JOAN. THE OTHER KIDS IN JOAN,S LIFE WERE YOUNGER, THEY DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPEND BETWEEN HER AND CHRISTINA!.

  • What a scary lady Joan Crawford was - I truly feel sorry for her daughter.

  • After seeing this; it is no wonder Christina wrote that book.

  • Her hair must have weighed about 20 pounds on top of her head.

  • You can see through Joan that she pushed Christina and di tnho want her to get full spot light attention. Joan Crawford was a very fine actress, but her esmoralda was shot.l

  • I think she's a nut but I love her! And when she was great, she was great and when she was god-awful she was better...talking about her acting not her mothering. Would I like her in person? No, probably would want to smack her. But boy oh boy some of those old movies of hers got me through a hard childhood.

  • she pulled her like that because she wanted to direct the attention off of her. she was obviously jealous of her.

  • lol this is funny that so many people are going to say such harsh in-mature things when they dont even know what they're talking about...leaving a little Crawford love on a page full of haters.

  • Wow, it's amazing how many people know how life was for Joan and her kids. How on earth were so many of you able to live in her home and observe her family? And seriously, HOW OLD MUST YOU BE? Or could it be that you are young and stupid and have accepted the version of life that Christina told but the other four kids refute?

  • Comment removed

  • Not only was JC's facial expression contorted when she called out her daughter, note the way she pulled her away to avoid any chance of her getting a moment's spotlight. Love J.C., but I thoroughly convinced she was a rabid bitch.

  • Joan Crawford was an actress and in front of a camera with an audience, how else would you have her read the poem???

  • omg shes super frightening to look and listen to. shes crossed eyed, blatantly HIGH and or DRUNk and just looks like a VERY mean, hard woman. And this is her trying to hiding it!! lol. Mustve been a MONSTER to those poor kids!!!

  • she is fucked up!

  • Okay...watching her read the poem with a smile on her face is eerie. And what is she hiding in THAT HAIR?? A pull-out couch??

  • Somthing is up with her on this night. She was an alcoholic and I think she had a few too many before she came on camera that night.

  • This was Joanie's Olivier moment ;-)

  • Poor Joan so screwed up on booze.

  • You can tell Lewis isn't too impressed with Joan's bullshit.

  • Joan Crawford = narcissism at its best

  • @ChristyT71 TRUE! Only a narcissist would buy a16 day old baby!

  • is she drunk?, jerry's face lit up, more money for his pocket

  • One book wasn't necesary to describe how this woman was. She's a SLUT before she got an actress, she made gay porn and stol having sex with so many celebrities, and she always had a double moral. She destroyed all her porn copies, and burned the house of a man who had so many copies. And that's not all, there are so many stories about her temperament, and things she did

  • joan didnt even give jerry enough time to flirt with tina before putting her on call, lol.

  • Joan was high on special k that nite

  • she has no neck

  • Ginger (Casino) ... alittle?

  • well Christina had a chance... born to wealth and great privilege... she only had to live with her mother for 16 years... and she does appear with her in many events... shame on Christina for not making more out of her life and putting the blame on her mother... Joan Crawford also knew that her daughter Christina was writing a book about her, but was much to weak and sick in the end to comment.

  • well Christina had a chance... born to wealth and great privilege... she only had to live with her mother for 16 years... and she does appear with her in many events... shame on Christina for not making more out of her life and putting the blame on her mother...

  • that brunette at 5:17 is pretty fucking hot

  • It's obvious that Joan was the one jealous of Christina, not the other way around - watch the way she drags Christina off the stage! Mommie Dearest, indeed! I'd be afraid to be with Joan in private. Her younger daughters (one of whom has passed on), probably didn't see the abusive side of her the way that Christina and Christopher (RIP).

  • wow isnt she great? how does someone get that drunk and steer that giant hair do around ?

  • What an abusive fake f'in b''ch. I can't watch that movie w/o feeling sick

  • It feels like she always wanted to play the role of the moviestar the most. She does a pretty good job at it, cos it seems totally fake. Look at the way she pushes away Jerry's arm when he embraces her. It feels like even Jerry is nervous and afraid of her.

  • A LITTLE TIPSY IS AN UNDERSTAND SHE WAS PISSY DRUNK...

  • She's gorgeous but I think she's a little tipsy...

  • ....is she drunk?

  • WOW JOAN LOOKS GREAT FOR A WOMAN OF 63! SHE IS PURE HOLLY WOOD CLASS!!! ALL THAT BULL SHIT ABOUT HER ABUSING HER DAUGHTER IS BULL SHIT!!!! JOAN WAS SWEET AND KIND TO EVERYONE SHE EVER KNEW!!!!! SHE NEVER WOULD HURT A FLY!!!

  • my gawd she's soused here!

  • @ryanglitter Joan Crawford, Mess Universe 1968!

  • If I hear that speech...I ask for my donation back.

  • Just because her speech was a little off didn't mean she was drunk. She spoke the same way in this video than she has in a lot of her films. It's just the way she spoke, now please stop trying to find reasons to blame either one of them, because their personal relationship just is not anybody's business. Joan has passed now so let the woman rest in peace, for crying out loud.

  • I know a bitch when i see it

  • Love her or hate her...she was a remarkable talent in her life time. We tend to think actors , such as Crawford, led a perfect Hollywood lifestyle with no false, no regrets, no worries about emotional instability..very wrong. Just as human as anyone else..understanding here about who likes or hates her, it's not something that matters anymore. It should always be about the work and what she gave. Unfortunate that personal tragedies weighed heavily. Just celebrate her talents...

  • Joan was such an amazing actress and a classy, caring, giving person if front of the cameras. Behind closed doors she was a vicious, cruel, manipulative, child abuser. It makes me wonder if she had a split personality or if she was bi polar?

  • @chrissylm37 Yeah that was my suspicion..was she depressed, bipolar or something? She did have a terrible childhood and all of that combined almost certainly contributed to her being an alcoholic. I'm not going to say Christina Crawford was a liar, but I would encourage those who are quick to call Joan a child abuser to bear in mind that if she did in fact suffer from some undiagnosed mental disorder, she too deserves sympathy. Because in her day there were no treatment options.

  • She's drunk.

  • Oh my gosh, I love the debates about Joan vs. Christina. Joan's "defenders" bring out the LOLs!

Joan was a freaking DRUNk and ABUSER! Anyone with half a brain can see that, especially with this clip.

If she truly was a loving mother, Joan would have stood there and allowed Jerry to ask her daughter questions. She would have been BEAMING with pride and joy seeing her daughter there on stage. Instead, Joan was simply being Joan: a SELFISH WASHED UP DRUNK! oh and child abuser!

  • @Lyn7721 I watched but sorry, i disagree. Joan doesn't seem annoyed to me and looks like she is joking - and Christina looks very comfortable with it. Having said that I refrain to give any opinion about their real relationship...

  • @Lyn7721 Yes, you can tell that she's had a few drinks. Her speech is slightly slurred.

  • she's actiiiiiiing. what a phony bitch, makes me sick.

  • joan, you should have taken more water with it lol

  • I can see the friction between them even behind the smiles when Christina walked out and was trying to chat to Jerry Lewis and have a bit of the limelight Joan quickly took her by the hand and hurried her off...too a grown woman or teenager as she was back then by the hand as if she were about 5 years old....

Joan Crawford looked like a jealous bitch!!!

  • i LOVE joan, the whole mommie dearest thing was bullshit, sure joan was strict, bossy and maybe even a little cold sometimes, but she was NOT what the movie and book made her out to be. it seems like christina wanted all the attention she could get.

  • @KURISUCHRIS99

I LOVE Joan too she was a brilliant actress and did well for feminism too, plus she was tough and stood on her own 2 feet, but she was also a jealous nasty bitch with violent mood swings..i don't have to see Mommie Dearest to see what nasty woman she was in real life...i can see it here as she hurried Christina off the limelight for a moment!!!

Her madness is crystal clear and i feel so sorry for Christina with what she went through with that tyrant.

  • She was tipsy.

  • Bios get me . . . I didn't know Joan Crawford . . . I was NOT present during the upbringing of her children . . . I know for a fact of other bios of incidents that just DID NOT occur. Wish Christina would have written this book when Crawford WAS ALIVE, so Joan could have her say. Glad Bette Davis was able write her "answer" to her daughter's bio. One thing is for certain, Crawford was an incredible actress, one of the best around in her day, and THAT is the Joan Crawford I will remember.

  • Joan Crawford: fully loaded.

  • One thing I loved about Joan Crawford is how nice she was to her fans. She really felt gratitude for her fans. And she's not drunk or anything here, she's just performing.

  • Joan Crawford looks like she is doing a part in a movie not like a sincere person.

  • Joan Crawford was just bipolar and back then they havent anything to diagnose her.

  • they should have written poem about her "The Clumsy Drunk".

  • She's not even close to under the influence here as some people posted. And Jessica8674 nailed it, no one knows a godamn thing what goes on behind closed doors. The sooner folks get it out of their heads that they've got everyooooone figured out the better off this twisted world would me. My life was hell growing up now it's nothing but medication and therapy and the fricking horror of realizing I'm the only that's paying for the crimes of my "parents". Thanks mom and daddy dearest. Burn.

  • --Joan is drunk -any fool can see that----She was acting here---I don't believe she in sincere---She is trying to look good for the camera with her daughter by her side and at a telethon---spare me----I believe most of what Christina said---although there are a few things she may have exaggerated or lied---that is a possibility-I still think there was abuse-

even if a child was spoiled, it does not give a parent the right to abuse them -whether or not she got inheritance is irrelevant

  • Wasted much?

  • What a fun clip! Joan was the greatest star of them all, and according to her other children and friends, a wonderful mother. Thanks for posting!

  • OMG, she must have founded the William Shatner School of Bad Acting. I think Jerry wasn't sure how to respond to her drama. I'm so glad Bette Davis kicked her ass for real in Baby Jane. What a nasty woman.

  • High as a kite !! She's a mess.

  • @Barbaraplease I think that she was starting with the proper medication at this time. In the end, Christina must have fogiven her mother by first realizing her mother suffered from a new diagnosed mental disorder.

  • Crawford got a bum rap. I believe she did cry.

  • you people crack me up. crawford was an abusive little witch and i believe EVERY word christina says. yeah she just made it all up cause she didnt get any inheritance money, sure, yeah. just OUT OF THE BLUE, her daughter writes a book and it gets made into a movie. then of course comes the detractors. look at the way she pulls christina away with her buzzed up self. so easy to tell.

  • @copsondonuts Well when you have the majority of the people closest to Crawford saying that Christina was a liar, it has to be given some credence

    .

  • @snorp73 Of course you won´t show your friends how much of a awful mother you are. Most psychopath have friends that believe in their innocence and say: 2oh, she/he looked like such a nice person"

  • @copsondonuts Finally, someone I agree with. There is no way that her daughter would just invent all that if she was such a good mother

  • @copsondonuts Joan knew christina was writing the tell tale book so did'nt leave her any money

  • @copsondonuts Whatever, but when we think Joan Crawford today, we think of a crazy woman who abused everyone. Christina had the last laugh.

  • Anyone else think she sounds kinda fucked up? Valium or alcohol, maybe...?

  • lol it looks like she's reading off a teleprompter or que cards

  • Is there anyone who actually believe that Joan was crying for real?

    Christina part since 4:38

    I love Christina's laugh in it! :)

  • "Oh, you know that she was here?"

I hope she's rotting in hell.

  • We loved her.

  • Oh you were told about her? Seems like Joan tried to take the spot light even at the telethon, although the end should speak for itself when she grabs Christina and pulls her away from speaking to Jerry to long the fact that she wasn't even gonna introduce her in the first place makes me totally believe Christina, about Joan's abusive ways.

  • MOM loves EVERY minute of it!!!

  • Yes it's interesting if you watch closely you can see the truth. It's very sad that little children suffer. I truly wish parents would not have children unless they were prepared to do it and to care and want to love. I can't watch this video again it is rather sickening to hear a woman reading about children publically and putting on the 'face of happy families' which is not genuine. Here's to all the good and loving parents who would do anything for their children, because of their heart

  • Thank you Tracy for your comment your kindness made me cry ( sorry). Although our lives are a little bit better now that we are adults, no one can ever recover from this kind of abuse. As Christina, we grew up trying to get the aprooval of our mother, because you thing you're being abuse because you are a bad kid and it's your fault. I've tried over the year to forgive her in order for me to heal, but just last week she yell at me and won't talk to me. At least I know I tried.

  • No matter what, Miss Crawford is tops in my book for her acting skills.

  • You commenters are SO ugly. You know NOTHING. Only your camp Mommie Dearest crap. Crawford cared deeply for children and gave outrageous amounts of money to children's hospitals and adopted FOUR children, the latter two saying she was a lovely lady and mother. She IS a little drunk here, but she is extremely sincere and this is a beautiful poem. Peter97624 is a dick...that's all I can say about his comment.

  • Drunk

  • That would have been a great movie team...Lewis & Crawford

  • she's pissed as a fart....

  • No wire hangers!

  • Christina probably still hates herself and blames it on her mommy. Fortunately Joan never had to know about a book that was one of the most distasteful pieces of crap to ever to be published.

  • @paulj0557 And that's just because she told the truth? No, the fact is that is very, very likely that Mrs. Crawford had a depressive mania. It's quite reasonable that she had acted the way depicted in Mommie Dearest.

  • the woman is 62 years old here - drunk or not she's....still scary

  • So very interesting to see people still debating over the Christina v Joan thing. The way i see it? Joan was crazy, maybe because she just was, maybe coz she had such an abusive upbringing, maybe coz she was an alcoholic. Either way i suppose i kinda believe Christina, but i still love Joan. Love love love her! True Hollywood legend <3

  • I am 40 years old and any footage of Joan, including Faye Dunaway's Joan, scares the hell out of me!

  • I don't buy the Mommie Dearest tabloid trash simply because Christina didn't get inheritance money. Joan Crawford was more than just a money-making movie star. If she didn't have a generous soul, there wouldn't be such real conviction in that poem reading. Seems to me Christina didn't appreciate all the hard work her mother put in into making Christina's life what it was.

  • @outinsider She's an actress you fool--what conviction---acting was her career--dumb a-s-Abusive people try to take act like saints in public --behind closed doors another story-She used this mother daughter telethon to look like the saintly mother/philanthropist to discredit the later allegations -i believe --were true --she knew one day christina would snitch on how joan treated her-this telethon was to discredit her daughter-how smart joan was--at acting on screen and off---she is drunk here

  • @hru98

How can you tell she is drunk? She isn't slurring her words. Also, I don't think Joan would really know Christina would "snitch" on her. And just because Joan was an actress doesn't mean she was acting, it is capable that her words and sentiments are sincere and that she just wanted Christina to make her entrance and help make phone calls. Have you ever considered that Christina was just a spoiled brat who wrote that book just to get the inheritance money she never got?

  • @outinsider Joan is drunk -any fool can see that----She was acting here---I don't believe she in sincere---She is trying to look good for the camera with her daughter by her side and at a telethon---spare me----I believe most of what Christina said---although there are a few things she may have exaggerated or lied---that is a possibility-I still think there was abuse-

even if a child was spoiled, it does not give a parent the right to abuse them -whether or not she got inheritance is irrelevant

  • @hru98

Really? I know abuse is bad, but come on, she was an adult long before she wrote the book, and she only wrote it after she died. If she was truly abused and didn't want to make up inheritance money she did not receive, than she would have written the book sooner.

  • @outinsider Thank you! Read my comment.

  • Does anyone have any links to any psychologists statements regarding Joan Crawford? Obviously they can't diagnose her posthumously - but I have always wondered what theories were tossed around...

  • @kosmodog14 I believe she was bipolar which would explain alot. I feel it for Christina, but I also feel it for Joan because in her day, treatment options for bipolar disorder didn't exist. I <3 Joan regardless.

  • She does sound drunk. But Ms. Crawford was always ready to help with charity. Many great people had their vices to deal with in life. Joan Crawford contributed a great deal to the history of movies and to people in need.

  • She's WEIRD. Her behavior is odd. I totally believe Christina.

  • If you want proof, there it is - notice at the end Joan's firm grip on Christina's hand as she is pulling her off the stage, and Christina is 29 years old!

  • @videos795

    I noticed that too!

    It's eerie. Consumate control freak.

  • @ccipollini1984 Because she held her daughter's hand???

  • @videos795

I do have to agree with you on this one. It was sad to see how she wanted to have all the control in the world because she did not have it as a child.

  • What? Christina steal the limelight? I dont think so.......as Joan drags Christina across the stage..............VERY revealing.

  • Helen Hayes, a very close long-time friend of Joan's, admitted, "Joan tried to be all things to all people. I just wish to God that she never tried to be a Mother."

  • +We may never know if Christina's story is true or false. However, it IS possible for one child to be singled out and be the target of a parent's abuse and rage. Joan Crawford was an actress. She obviously was an alcoholic. I still enjoy her movies. She had class and always looked incredible. She had glamour that I think a movie star should have. She was really remarkable and probably very sad inside.

  • I just love the way, she walked christina over to the telephones and chased those 2 people off those seats, cut to commercial!!! what a bitch

  • Why do people find it so hard to believe Christina? I personally don't know - I'm just asking.

  • NO......WIRE...HANGERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSSS!!!!

  • STONE DRUNK! LOL! Priceless. Thank You.

  • i agree with you stauchcomic tina is just pissed that joan didnt leave her no money so she decide to tell lies on joan off course no mother is perfect but christina made sure that the loving public image joan has will be replace by a child abuser i hope christina live a sad sad life

  • "Mommie Dearest" was actually published TWICE. The second book was even MORE revealing. I only read the FIRST one, but the ONE scene that stands out (not incl. in the movie) was when she tied her to a shower head and left her there for hours with cold running water. The second one is when she forced Christina to wear the SAME clothes for WEEKS. **In retrospect, I must also add that the twins she also adopted (to whom she left her 'small' fortune) said NOTHING in Christiana's book TOOK PLACE!

  • Man was she drunk.

  • This old tape proves one thing that Joan was not a monster. she didn't have to let Tina be a part of this charity but was trying to help her daughter with publicity Also I'd like to point out that Christina was over 18 easily and if her MOM was such a monster why be around her?Because Tina wanted to be Joan without the talent or beauty. And she was very jealous. Tina is so evil she wrote that book before Joan died and Joan knew about it. Tina waited until Joan died to publish her book. SHADY!

  • It's funny how people always say that Christina exagerated the truth about the abuse she suffered. I was abused as a child and compared to the abuse my sisters and I suffered, the movie is a fairy tale. I'm sure that's why abused children stay silent and grow up with lots of issues and fail in life. I'm sure that people who know my mother would never believe that she abused us. It hurts when people judge by what they see or think they know.

  • @Jessica8674 Your are so right. People don´t want to know, because they don´t care. Abusive parents normaly are good in covering up. They don´t show that side to other people just to those who depend on them and who can´t go away. If they would treat other people like they treat their children they would be alone. Why do they treat their children the most awful? I wish I knew, maybe it´s just because they can.
