We CWA members nationwide as well as those on strike against VZ are not in the same boat as the govt sector Unions that the taxpayers have to pay for benefits. WE have given sweat and blood to make VZ the company that it is today and for them to try and take away what we have is a travesty to say the least! FYI Wireless doesn’t stand along all wireless is based upon a wired and fiber opting infrastructure. Now more that ever wireless is dependent on the Fiber optic infrastructure with 3G and 4G networks coming main stream the demand for OC3s and OC12s and hired optic network become their bread and butter …. Who do you thing install and maintain the Hi speed infrastructure, Wireline tech all day every day. Every one like to say the all wireline does is Dial Tone that totally not true!
I disagree with the union, but I must say that Sir Damian Crawford is a great spokesperson for the union employees. If I were to hang out with this guy I believe that after a few beers I would be picketing with him.
