Teddy is sincere and obviously wanted to protect Michael both before and after his death. I don't believe MJ had many people he could trust and Teddy is one of a handful that he could. I think that there is a strong possibility MJ was mudered and if TR has an inkling due to conversations with MJ then he could or his family could be at risk.
