I like it..... Buuuuuut... It was pretty clear he was reading from a cue card. During almost the entire speech you can see him looking over the guy's shoulder.
Still a nice sentiment, just not the best delivery.
One of the best things Twin Peaks did was that every character you hate at first, like Albert Rosenfield, Ben Horne, Catherine Martell, Bobby Briggs, Hank Jennings or even Leo Johnson, you start to understand that they are not only bad persons. I hated these guys at first but later I started to like them, and thats the magic in Twin Peaks, every character is likeable, in a way
This is a beautiful moment and after so much tension in the episode it just makes it all the more sweeter.. It just comes out of no where.. beautiful.
@timrs2001 Yeah, exactly! After that they become great friends, in some ways even closer than Coop is to Truman. This is precisely why I think the scene isn't just a joke but a real part of the characterisation of Albert.
I think Albert is discovered to be a heck of a character in this scene!
OOoooh God! Why are ther not mor clips of Twin Peaks on UT. Some of the great ones are there but there are way more. I don't know, burying that half heart in the road in that autumn forest in the breeze ... not everything great about TW was horror and scare, it was about love and , he he, he he, coffee and the woods and also the darkness and also about women .....there should be more clips from TP on UT....
I couldn't help laughing at this... Wasn't expecting it and found it hard to tell if the character was serious or if it was him being EVEN MORE sarcastic than usual.
This was a milestone in the series for me; moreover, it's when truly realised how profound and unique this series really was. I was baffled, and immensely impressed by the depth of these characters - especially because I had hitherto thought of Albert as this awful, haugthy person with little good about him. This show was full of surprises.
This is one of the best moments of the series IMO. Miguel Ferrer deserved some sort of Emmy for his work....in fact, the show deserved a truckload of Emmys but that is a different story.
possibly the only thing better than this scene (excluding all the scenes with Audrey Horne, of course), is the next time Albert and Harry greet each other in S2E15 (won't spoil it because I hate when people do that on youtube)

Sorry, Albert. That just doesn't cut it. You're an asshole, and you hurt people. Of course you reject revenge--revenge allows people to hold you accountable for your assholery.
This is my favorite tv show of all time. I only wish I had friends who liked it too, i am all alone in my love for this show. This part never fails to make me smile.
