2 months ago I had no problems. From there I had strong symptoms come on, had all the tests (colonoscopy, small bowel xray, endoscopy), and just as I was being diagnosed (1 month after symptoms), things got out of control. I had a fistula, as well, and ended up having a resection surgery a week ago. I am 26.
I agree about the food. The western GMO/processed food we eat is what I feel the cause of Crohns is. It makes sense that the spanish food helped you.
I have CD also. It does suck. Although it can be managed somewhat. But the biggest thing to help control it is your state of mind. Force yourself to be happy. Stress can cause CD to flare. So stay away from stressful things and people. And remember you are not alone in this.
I got Chrones last summer. I was diagnosed with Chrones the same time i got celiacs disease. I was in grade 11 and i missed atlease 5 months of school and all my exams. I lied in bed all day every day in so much pain.
so like only a little bit of comes out and you feel like you want to empty the rest out but you can't right? i think i have it bad because theres always blood, i'm going to see a specialist in 2 weeks and I'm 27 they say its most likely not cancer. has yours came out with blood
No, you need to set it up by a doctor. You then go usually 8 weeks to a special clinic to recieve the infusion. It takes around 2 hours to put the medicine into your blood stream. It is very expencive if you don't have benefits. (32000$ per year without benefits)
hey pyewacket82 ur lucky u get painkillers my doctor thinks crohn's feels like bad period cramps lol and wont give me painkillers. i have lost my job can barely get outta bed sometimes and i have 2 kids so thats not an option im in agony but u know i dont let it get me down cos im a strong woman with good family support so ur rite its only a disease and it wont beat me either NEVER power to the people not the crohn's
most drs dnt kno what they are talkin bout. i went a yr with bein told i had problems OTHER than Chrons. I finally was like no i dnt have IBS no I dnt just have gas, dnt have gastritous those symptoms didnt fit. I ended up going to a Internal medicine dr w/my symptoms luckily enough after 2 ultrasounds, a cat scan, a hida scan, upper gi series, and a colonoscopy i proved my point and I was diagasoned w/ Chrons. point is, the dr. works for u. if u feel they arent doin their job fire & rehire!!!!
I have crohns's and I hate it but I don't let it beat me.I choose not to feel it by taking painkillers until I'm numb. But I WILL NOT let this thing invade me,destroy me,I'm alive and I'll do whatever it takes to beat this affliction.I'm a walking agaony factory but I just look in the mirror and tell it "No way" try harder because you'll never beat me...ever.
Exactly same man i have it and it ruined my life for 5months and i went 6weeks on a nestle modulen diet which was totally disgusting but i managed to conqure it :)
Amen dude! I have Crohns and it is TOTALLY related to diet! Have you heard of the SCD (Specific Carbohydrate Diet)? I'm on it and its really worked for me.
One day about a month ago I felt sharp pains and a slight ,"burning sensation". So i thought it was a pendicitis, I got a colonoscapy and they said there was nothing there. Then a day later they called and said that they had done a blood check and I did infact have crohns disease. To all you fellow people who have it....FIGHT IT!
We just learned about Crohns Disease at university, so i kinda know what you're going through...It's really good to see how you manage your disease. good luck

Some people think Crohns is a bacterial infection. And they have not identified the pathogen still.

Good for you.
People forget how costy this is however, and if you got a poor economy or a bad life situation you most likely won´t have this option in life.
Good luck.
