@MrMatbri you were also wrong about britannic looking the same, she was almost the same but the stern was different and life boat positions on all 3 ships were different
@MrMatbri look at the comment you posted to mrwitmore, you did say they looked the same, and if your so clever, how many people did die on britannic then
The RMS Titanic was 882.9 feet long. 94 feet wide. The HMHS Britannic was 882.9 feet long and 94 feet wide. The same size as the Titanic, but she was heavier than the Titanic. Bit for all she was, she looked exactly like the Titanic. All 3 Olympic class ships looked the same.

Hmm Its shallow enough.......She's still mostly a full entire ship......But is the material too brittle? If she can stand the strain without turning into dust then raise her.
1) when she hit the sea floor, she landed on her side and the bow broke from the middle section of the ship, plus theres no saying what damage there could be on the side of the ship that you cant see
2) to raise a ship that size would be expensive and properly not worth it, plus its a grave for over 1000 people and there would be a lot of objection to raise her.
@LyniixAssassin2k10 Hmm true. It still is a shame though seeing these beautiful ships decentigrate into nothing but memories as the years go by. At least we are able to salvage things like the bells and whistles ant other key components of ships.

I watched a documentary "Titanic's Tragic Sister" and it said that her captain was or is the only captain to see his sgip built, launched, and sink right before is eyes. I thought that was realy sad. And when the boats got slaughtered to a bloody pulp from the propellers made me feel sick and have nightmares :'(
Hms Victoria is being standing vertical under the sea for more than 115 years.
I think{and hope} titanic will be with us for years to come.Britannic and Carpathia can be raised with billions of dollars.Titanic cant.I hope sometime they will raise those other 2 to keep titanic alive even when it will be gone!!!!!!!!!!!!
When the Queen Mary was being built in the 1930's, Cunard and White Star Line merged to become Cunard White Star. The company is now known simply as Cunard, but I bet if they really wanted to, Cunard could fight for the rights of the Britannic since it is a "[Cunard] White Star Line" predecessor. Wonder how that would turn out...
Quite simply they would lose badly, as the white star line had nothing to do with cunard until the uk government enfored the 2 companys to merge 1934.
Cunard simply don't have a legal claim, and white star line were paid by the government for the loss.
@64MojoMan Do NOT lump the Lusitania in with the three sister ships! The Lusitania was NOT a White Star Liner! She was a CUNARD Liner a RIVAL company to White Star!
its stupid, buying a ship that has been underwater!!!! its a graveyard,to be honest, noone can own it,its crazy, people who had owned it are dead now, it really pisses me off,who gave them rights to buy it? i dont care what's written anywhere! THOSE SHIPS SHOULD BELONG TO NATURE ITSELF! i only wish that someone would pick them up from the water, and put them into some museum or whatever, taking care of them of course, in a few yrs, they'll be gone, titanic is almost gone...
no one owns the titanic it is in an area that is well it has an agreement by the surronding countries that its not to be touched with out certain regulations and reguirments but no one owns it any more
@pistonsfreak3 There where no German subs in the area during the time Britannic sank. It was known however that there was a sub in the are, U-73(a mine layer) & it put 12 mines in October, the month before Britannic was lost. U73's captain was called in by the Brits after the war & he had no doubt Britannic struck a Mine.
2 years ago, a egg like shell was found crack open in Britannic's debris field, close to the coordinates of the explosion & location of one of the moored mines.
I actually Have an Idea for a book and movie, where the HMHS Britannic is raised for the Titanic Centenial and then Stolen by an evil corporation bent on destroying New orleans by ramming it into the levee, in order to cover up the fact they were improperly storing toxic waste (I was Bored when I came up with the plot)
Raise it. Honestly, no more of this "sacred site", "too technologically difficult" nonsense. Cut it to pieces, raise it, chuck it together in Belfast again.
You guys know that there was a 3rd ship, too, right?
Well, there was this woman who survived the Titanic, and became a nurse. Guess what? She went on to serve on the Britannic here, and survived AGAIN when this one went down.
She was also on the Olympic when it struck a warship and was sent back to the yard for repairs, which coincidentally was why the titanic took the new york trip instead :)
@Fortwaba She was miss Violet Jessop, she was aboard of the Olympic when she crashes into Hawke cruser, she was among the crew of the Titanic and of the Britannic as well when it sunks.
@Fortwaba Yes, this woman's name was Violet Jessop. She was onboard all three of the Olympic Class vessels during times of crisis. First she was on the Olympic when she had the fiasco with the HMS Hawke, then She was a stewardess onboard the Titanic's only voyage, and then she signed up for duties during World War I and was put onboard the HMHS Britannic on her last crossing.
@Fortwaba Her name is Violet Jessop. She was on the olympic when it had an accident with the HMS Hawke. She later boarded the titanic and survived the sinking. And yes as you say it she also survived the britannic sinking:) She was just unsinkable.

@linkfan95 Actually yes, you can buy a wreck. Under maritime law, the discoverer of a newly found wreck CAN claim it for himself. However, Cousteau decided not to claim Britannic, so the wreck was open for bid over for years but no one knew about it till Mr. Mills learned Britannic was been sold for $600 I heard in 1996-98. Ballard could had also claimed Titanic, but he didn't. Today now he regrets it because of the salvage operations of Titanic Inc., who claimed the Wreck as theirs in 1996-97.

@WatchdogDisciple you wouldnt be able to raise her for 2 reasons:
