I'm not sure about the rest of you around the world, however, this beats comedians in Britain today hands down. Not one swear word, not lambasting somebody or cheaps shots (except people with three legs) and has to have intelligence to write. Thank goodnes for Youtube, so I can look at decent humour.
@TenaciousDougie - the song was originated by a Dutch entertainer called Frank Roosen. Rolf's Jewish accent arose from an attempt to imitate Frank's Dutch accent.
What a crack up! I'm a Kiwi but Rolf was such an awesome performer for me when I was a wee kid. He's an Aussie legend. And his paintings were so cool (no-one has done anything like it since). Give the guy a knighthood. Oh, I had to laugh when he couldn't spread the fingers on his (false) right hand when he was counting his fingers!
I'm just so thrilled that you have posted this wonderful DVD.
I contacted Rolf many years ago, asking to post this wonderful TV performance.
So Happy to see it now.
Brings tears and laughter to my eyes, watched his performance on the BBC when I was a nipper. For sure a wonderful artist and really tatented in all his programmes, love his art and gift to the world....
Just want to wish Rolf a very happy 81st birthday. I saw Rolf live at Melbourne Town Hall (Australia) foe my 9th or 10th birthday (1969/1970) and have never forgotten it. A t fantastic entertainer and i think an all round good bloke. Colleen 2011.
@lauriej100 and he was practically identical to the music professor across the border in Bellingham, WA. When the professor heard this he went to Vancouver to try and meet Rolf and was repetedly mistaken for him. When my parents, and several others, went caroling to their music professor's house Rolf was there. He grabbed his accordian and said so what would you like to sing. Such a good hearted, down to earth, individual he is.
@aidan1murdoch It's the one on his right (your left). You can tell because he has two right feet and it's the only one he never puts all of his weight on. ;)
@GenericDifference Hmmmm I didn't have to watch more than a minute and a half. The fake one doesn't bend at the knee and the toes don't crease in the shoe.
I saw somebody perform this when I was a little kid! Don't think it was Rolf though... It was some side act during one of my sisters jazz recitals or some bullshit.
I have remembered this song for almost three quarters of my life! I never knew how old it was. This will ALWAYS be one of my top favorite things ever. :D
Rolf Harris HAS got three legs! And Santa's got no end of reindeer, the tooth fairy will be round tomorrow and my wife will finish painting the fence!

I remember this clip from my childhood.
Not in 1969 though,I was only a year old!. The tune has been going around and around in my head ever since!.
Considering todays "music",I have to admit I feel sorry for the new generations, whose introduction to funny music would probably be non-existent.
Weird Al don't come close.
Today,of course,it would be banned as being non PC toward our "Physically Challenged" Brothers and Sisters.
So it is now a historical piece enjoyed by the unaffected.

The right side is the fake- you can tell because when he messes up the "Count to twenty-five" part, he removes his hand from his coat.
Said hand is incredibly shiny and reflective. Unless his hand has been doused in water recently, it shouldn't be that shiny.
