It's a huge coincidence that i'm talking about this today with you as my school and many other near schools joined in for a huge protest today, because the the prices of college tuition per unit is about to be increased by about 200%, many of my fellow students will not attending school next year as they cannot afford it.

What I said in the previous post was basically supporting what you said about the government messing up on funding for education, and funding in general for that matter. But don't know if going back to the gold standard will help anything, for me that idea sounds crazy. I'm not an economist so i don't have the right academically to say that. @Mindrotjuggalo You are correct. Gold's value is not intrinsic in a monetary sense (as a commodity it does have intrinsic value). It's basically a benchmark for fiat currency. People who say there is a gold "bubble" need to get educated.

If the government doesn't impose import regulation on countries who don't conform to a certain criteria of socio democratic standards then domestic production in the US will continue to decline due to unfair competition. You can only have economic recovery if you create jobs and the only way to do that is to stimulate domestic production. What's good for banks and Corporations is bad for the people in the US and Europe, this is the paradox Ron doesn't want you to think about.

@inthecards21 The one thing he would be able to get done that he wants is to stop a huge portion of our overseas war and occupation spending in order to tide over the bankrupt Medicare and Medicaid systems until they can be fixed or ended. In general he wants to get rid of tons of government programs and the spending that goes along with them and leave it to states and individuals to decide what to spend and how to live. He believes individuals and markets are better at spending than the gvt.

Bi-partisan politics aside, it is time to examine what we are doing and improve it. We are following the Keynsian economic policy and it has yielded a trillion dollar deficit so far. The further we go into debt the bigger the hit aggregate demand takes, it is time to truly examine whether "priming the pump" has a bigger negative effect than a positive one. Good day to you all.

Anyone who watch this video should check out how much US spend on military and compared to rest of the world. US is the #1 in military and it spends more than the following 20 nations COMBINED. Now, how is this obsession with military dominance sustainable? US defense budget is the SINGLE biggest budget spending in US accounting to almost 50% of US's tax revenue. Ironically, US would spend billions on weaponry when it has a failed social benefit program and later generations are left with debt.

Most students these day are trying to figure out how they can pay for college, and they usually have to pay for this by taking loans! Does that sound like you don't need help taking loans? Most Californians take advantage of the UC system and its price reduction due to Californian tax payers and federal distribution of college funding!

@thehornypuppy Yes, true. Students these days are leaving college with debt on their hands. No one wants that, but obviously the government isn't doing anything to change it. It's a huge coincidence that i'm talking about this today with you as my school and many other near schools joined in for a huge protest today, because the the prices of college tuition per unit is about to be increased by about 200%, many of my fellow students will not attending school next year as they cannot afford it.

What I said in the previous post was basically supporting what you said about the government messing up on funding for education, and funding in general for that matter. But don't know if going back to the gold standard will help anything, for me that idea sounds crazy. I'm not an economist so i don't have the right academically to say that. Maybe his method would work, I will have to do some research for that "specific" statement :)

If the government doesn't impose import regulation on countries who don't conform to a certain criteria of socio democratic standards then domestic production in the US will continue to decline due to unfair competition. You can only have economic recovery if you create jobs and the only way to do that is to stimulate domestic production. What's good for banks and Corporations is bad for the people in the US and Europe, this is the paradox Ron doesn't want you to think about.
