  • wow! i was an extra in this movie lol

  • ebreo ma vanffanculo!!!!

  • I can't believe some things I'm reading on this board. Each one should be free to choose who to marry and have children with. I'm from an interfaith marriage and a complete atheist.

  • Oy, poor momzer. It would be good if I didn't feel for the kid. But this is precisely why I am 200% opposed to interfaith matches, because the kids are so mixed up.

  • I'm against (most) interfaith matches too, for the same reason you gave. But not all kids from such matches are "mixed up". I know a few families where the father is Gentile, the mother is Jewish, and the kids are all being raised as Jews exclusively (in a couple of cases, as Orthodox Jews, no less!)

  • I'm the product of an intermarraige, so I can deride it. =) I'm converting to Judaism.

  • In a sense I'm also a product of a mixed marriage, though not really. My parents married civilly about 15 years before I was born, then my mom converted to Orthodox Judaism (and my dad decided to become religious), a few years prior to my birth. So because of that I have an entire half-family that is not Jewish!

I'm not against intermarriage as long as a) the woman is the Jewish one, and b) the children are raised as Jews.

  • I give no indulgences :-P No seriously, I am very, very, VERY against mixed marraiges.

  • I understand...I'm sure life was very confusing for you, and it must have hurt, and hurt deeply, if others told you "you're not really Jewish" when you probably always felt you were! (I know people who have had that said to them.)

  • yep, I think I was seven or eight when someone first "educated" me to the fact that I was NOT Jewish; I never believed it for a moment, and still don't. I'm doing conversion not as an expression of my new faith but as a ritual to confirm the faith I always thought I was.

And I wouldn't wish that kind of heartbreak on any child.

  • GOOD FOR YOU!...for recognizing that this is NOT truly a conversion, but a reaffirmation of what you ALREADY were!

You know, in Jewish history there were times when children were deemed Jewish because the father was, and later, because the mother was. So there is precedent for holding BOTH views, either way.

Why not contact me privately, I can put you in touch with people in your same situation!

  • cute film.

  • The head Rabbi of Jerusalem didn't want there to be a Jewish state. He even pleaded with the League Of Nations to reconsider. Now look what you have! A bloodbath Holy Land. Thank you Zionists for your murder of the Armenians, Greeks, Assyrians, Russians, Palestinians and the list goes on. Also thank you for Bolshevism and your scandalous Balfour Declaration. The world really needed that! Zionist bastards!

  • Lol! Pretty cool, fairly original story!

  • I liked this movie very much. The story is great. Maybe the characters were too ethnically stereotiped. I'm half and half like the main charaacter by the way

  • Great film, very funny! The little boy that played Vinnie at age 6 is great! :)

  • one of my all time favorite Boston filmmaker films and I am so happy that the whole world can now see it and be very entertained by it.

  • Vinny the homewrecker and Rebecca the horny housewife are wonderful characters, played with natural aplomb under David Lewis's lovingly humorous direction. Of course the product of their love, Joshua, carries the Italian and Jewish stereotypes to silly ends. The lesson in the deli on business: supply & demand, and advertising with borscht flavored latkes is crackup stuff. Well worth seeing!

  • terrific!

  • Very well done. Great production values. - Jeremy
