No, the DSi is only an upgraded version of the DS lite. It's just like the Gameboy advance to the gameboy SP. Atleast i'm pretty sure.

DSi is just a DS with some new bells and wistles, it can play DS games.

it has two cameras, both .3 mega pixels(which isnt that bad on the DS)

can play music off of a memory card

system updates

bigger screens, better sound

it cost more

i like my DSi more than my lite

358/2 should play on both unless it uses something specifically on th DSi

they are maknig a 358/2 days bundle with com (gba version) kh 358/2 days and a dsi with gba slot which probably means that something special happens when you have com in the gba slot and 358/2 days in the ds slot.

Whether or not Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is being built with this new system in mind and if it will utilize the NDSi's features are unknown.

not because the DSI is supposed to be just a new ds it's not supposed to be the next gen version and i'll be dammed if im buying a console ive already got. I got the original DS on the day it came out in Europe and it's done me fine i dont need any crappy camera not to mention no backwards compatibillity so no it had better not utilise dsi features
