I am not sure how many times we've said this but if it wasn't for the 1953 coup by US and Britain, Iran would have been a 60 year old democracy by now. It's one of the first things people will talk to you about. Even if the CIA is trying to influence or assist the opposition in Iran, the opposition is already massive against the recent failures of democracy and it NEEDS assistance. The election was a farce. I am not sure how many times we've said this but if it wasn't for the 1953 coup by US and Britain, Iran would have been a 60 year old democracy by now.
