  • @marindeanna1 youtube-mp3(dot)org, convert it then go into itunes (or whatever else) and add the file

  • I want this song of her , but can't find it. Bummer! : #

  • again, she is ten times better, the music makes it bad! Make music better, and you will be a hero of the planet! ;-)

  • Hear the angel voices..Happy Holidays...The right time to celebrate:)

  • In the 20 years I've been married, it has been a tradition in our family to buy a new Christmas CD each year. I discovered this one quite by accident. What a beautiful voice. I'm ashamed to admit that I NEVER KNEW you were such a wonderful singer. Thank you for making my family's 2011 Christmas one to remember!!!

  • you dont have to hit those painfully high notes to really make something work. She has a rich beautiful tone and depth that expresses the wonder of a christmas carol. you want a opera go watch one. this is about the birth of our lord savior. not about b.s.

  • i love Emmy she is like my idol she did too good in phantom of the opera i highly recommend that movie if your an Emmy fan

  • Holy cow. That was amazing. My fave Christmas song by far, and she just nailed it! I melted from the inside! I love you Emmy!

  • I don't know what it is about her voice...it's just amazing!...she's gorgeous...big fan, can't ya tell? :)

  • Thank you so much...

  • I love how she uses her VOICE! She doesnt breath out the words like a lot of contemporary singers. WOOT!

    \

  • achttung juden!

  • what key does she sing this in. and her other christmas songs on the ep?

  • ...good.

  • Her voice is marvelous! I love how she sings "fall on your knees." But I like when she harmonizes with herself a little better too. :)

  • stunning!

  • I prefer her songs when she's harmonizing with herself. I don't like when she sings alone with music behind her. I like her style in "Slow Me Down" and "Carol Of The Bells".

  • I can sing Identical to her on certain songs ^_^

  • super no i nie długo kewin sam w domu hehe

  • love love love her voice!! <3

  • Singing to this song now. Lol. I'm a decent (2nd) soprano, but nothing compared to Emmy.

  • Oh the things this woman is such an amazing, like im speechless, what i wouldnt do to meet Emmy.

  • Wait, I just realized: Isn't she Jewish? Is she a Messianic Jew or does she just enjoy Christmas songs, including the more religious ones?

  • I love this song so much. she has talent! she sounds so calm when she sings. i <3 it!

  • @justdance898, I agree with you so much! Thank you for saying that!

  • I love this song so much. So soothing and beautiful. I love how she sings it.

  • I wish she would do a more recent album, since her voice has definitely changed since 2007. This is a classic though. And I still listen to Inside Out. :)

I want to be her. Gaaah, especially her hair! I almost hate looking at this picture, because I get super jealous.. haha.

  • I'd like to hear the rest of the album :)

  • :/ wheres that think of me phantom of the opera operatic voice :/ i mean i was hoping for something different can she not sing as high as they made it in phantom of the opera did they just fake it? dude im bummed none of her songs have any operatic range 2 them wht the heck!??! thts wht makes her voice so beautiful

  • @justdance898 she is not an opera singer. she is a lyric soprano. phantom isnt really even an opera, it is a musical; it doesnt use the opera range.

  • @aprettyprettyprinces not that version of the opera no. Besides a lyric soprano is still kind of an operatic singer... And it's not usual for a non-classical singer to have such a high range. She's good, you know. However: in this version of O Holy Night she reaches apporximately D sharp(no. 2 above the middle c) and in the original version it's the high A, which is a pitty. But i think it's in order to make the song more rythmic/pop(you have probably noticed the drum beat as well). I like it!

  • @aprettyprettyprinces It may only be a musical, but her voice still sounded far better in that then in this song, even if it is a good song to listen to. It just doesn't seem to do her voice justice.

  • @aprettyprettyprinces Phantom of the Opera is not an opera, you are right. But many of the songs in it are operatic, as the setting is an opera house! And I don't know very many singers, opera singers or not, who can hit that high E like Emmy can. I love her album and this song, but I too am disappointed in her lack of songs with a challenging range and more classical style, as she displayed the ability to sing them in Phantom.

  • @GabrielleGrey Casting requirements for Phantom:

    Christine Daae:

20s, beautiful young singer. Soprano voice that combines elements of classical and pop singing. A light, floaty soprano. She sings briefly to high E.

    Carlotta Giudicelli:

30s – EARLY 40s, the prima donna of The Paris Opera. A diva in every sense of the word. Coloratura soprano, to high E. Requires opera **training**.

Classical singing =/= opera singing, as opera means to be able to sing WITHOUT a microphone.

  • @GabrielleGrey The songs are also not operatic in nature; just because it's set in an opera house doesn't mean anything. I have been trained in classical singing and I still train - operatic songs are FAR more demanding than musicals (trust me- I have recently begun the 'advance' from singing things like in Phantom to actual opera and it's FAR more difficult, especially on the body). Also, opera singers who can hit an E better and with more skill than Emmy? Anna Netrebko, Natalie Dessay, etc.

  • @nightbloomingly I have also had years of classical training and I have been starring as the lead role in Opera's since I was eight years old. I KNOW actual operas are extremely more difficult then Phantom, but Phantom's songs are not typical broadway musical songs, they are more classical and are CLOSER to opera then broadway style. And she was 17 years old when she sang that high E which is impressive. She could have done alot more with her album.

  • @GabrielleGrey Uh, it's IMPOSSIBLE for you to have been the LEAD ROLE in OPERAS since you were eight. Since when does an OPERA call for a child lead in its production? Since when can a CHILD honestly sing opera? If this is true, than you can name your roles. Who did you play? Names of the operas? Please, do tell me, as every single teacher and every single performer/voice major I've ever talked to knows that no one is TRULY classically trained that early so as to NOT literally destroy the voice

  • @nightbloomingly It's not like I said I was the lead in some huge professional opera so just calm yourself. I played Amahl in the opera Amahl and the Night Visitors, and believe me, I did a pretty bang up job, as I was asked to do it again and again, and my voice is in no way destroyed Obviously since then I've stepped up my game to bigger and better operas, but STILL, the knowledge is there, and it was planted in my brain from very early on.

  • @GabrielleGrey Still, Amahl is an exception where a typically boy soprano is the lead, and the vocal part is written for a child. The way you made it sound was that you have been playing the lead in various different operas every single year since you were 8, which I find incredibly hard to believe. It would be different if you started out with that role and then when you were older branched out- THAT would be believable.

  • @GabrielleGrey Furthermore, Emmy's note in Phantom wasn't a high E, it was a D#, and this was proven: "In Emmy's version, the vocalizations begin in e minor (half a step lower than the stage version), move to f# minor, and then move to g# minor to finish. E flat is not in the key of g# minor (five sharps). This means that she moves from a b to a d# at the end of the song." You can look it up; Google "Emmy Rossum not high e" & there's a discussion on the Phantom website about it that *proves* it.

  • @nightbloomingly Ok, that's great. It's half a step lower. Big woop. I'm not trying to prove that Emmy should be some amazing opera singer, I simply stated that SOME of the songs in Phantom have an operatic quality to them (which you just proved with the statement about the requirement's for the part of Carlotta) and that Emmy has more potential then what she is showing in her albums.

  • @GabrielleGrey Yes, you're right in that *some* of the songs do; however what if that's not what Emmy wants to do with her voice? How is that fair to her? My friend has a great potential for opera but it's just not her cup of tea so she doesn't sing classically and doesn't care to. What if it's the same with Emmy? Her fans may not like it, but whatever, I think she should do whatever makes her happy.

  • @nightbloomingly I agree, she should definately do what makes her happy! My own classically programmed brain can't help but be a little disappointed however!

  • @aprettyprettyprinces but she did train as an opera singer when she was younger.she even mentioned that during an interview with gerard butler.

  • @justdance898

She's real go to 4:43 theirs her screen test for phantom :)

    youtube.com/watch?v=ig1NZrNplyw

  • @justdance898 Well, she's stated herself that she isn't an opera singer. And she can sing those songs live. She sang All I ask of you live in Japan and it was better and stronger than in the film.

  • @justdance898 well she did actually train in opera since she was three, but i think she just chose to do this genre of music. i agree that her voice sounds better when she sings opera, tho. her voice sounds good, tho... its really pure.

  • @luvdeafbroadway777 Emmy hasn't trained in opera since she was three - she was in the children's chorus and that's all. That's a *foundation* for classical music, but not actual training. Most singers can't train in classical music until after they finish puberty and their voices settle (for girls, that's around 16/17) and you can't even *touch* opera until you're in your 20's.

Emmy is a *good* singer, but she's *not* an opera singer, and she's never sung actual opera and probably never will.

  • I agree with amoeba 2315 she shouldn't be compared to any of people because she has talent and she puts it to good use the other people you have listed your right, I mean they have talent too, they've just choosen to use it the wrong way.

  • i love this song its so soothing!

  • She really should do a Christmas CD. That would be amazing.

  • I really wish i could sing like her.

  • I want to be an opera singer when I get older. Emmy is brilliant, I am a first soprano as well.

  • Actually, she stated herself that she is a lyric soprano, just for everyone's 411, :)

  • big fan:)

    love her

  • she has a beautiful voice and gifted to be able to reach very high notes, that's called a colortura 1st soprano

  • She is not a coloratura soprano her voice is small but pretty , but is not a coloratura soprano! her voice is good

  • in phantom of the opera, she is! Her voice may have gone lower since which is possible..for anyone to hit that High E, only a coloratura soprano can hit it.....I know, I did it too......she has a wide range also.......she may choose not to sing all the real high notes...........

  • in the phantom maybe can hit the last note but is not a coloratura soprano...mmm in this case she is (maybe) a light soprano, but I have to say that her attitude is mezzosoprano althought her voice is very light but she sing well. :)

  • 如此美好的歌聲 以前我都沒有找到喜歡的明星,現在她就是我有生以來第一個最愛的明星。

  • She has a wonderful voice, the voice of an angel.

  • I love her voice. i love it phantom of the opera.

  • Merry Christmas, everyone. Christmas Day here in Australia.

  • This is so beautiful!

  • She is so awesome. She sure can sing good and she did a good job in Phantom of the Opera!!

  • I love how they added a nice drumbeat to this version to modernize it a bit. Beautiful voice, as always. ^_^

  • She looks like an angel and sings like an angel........ *Sigh*

  • I adore her voice. <3

She's beautiful and she has a soothing voice I'm now an Emmy fan. ^-^

  • Too bad she didn't try to go higher... oh well.

  • her voice is heavenly...It puts me to sleep...

  • Can anybody please tell me where this comes from? Because when I heard Emmy Rossum sing this Chritmas song so beautifully, I figured that she must have some kind of Christmas CD out for sale on Amazon. But I did not see it there, so does it not exist? How can Emmy Rossum take the time to record this, doing such a good job, and yet not have it for sale? Please somebody, enlighten me

  • Emmy has an album called 'Inside Out'. I don't know if this is on it but you might want to try that.

    Regards

  • I have that album. that is the one where the beautiful and adorable emmy rossum shows us a lot of her soft, deliciously feminine skin. unfortunately, however, O Holy Night or any other christmas song is not on there. :-(

  • Actually ignore that last one ... description tells you everything you need to know

  • It is on sale on iTunes as EP and as mp3 download on Amazon. This was just a "bonus" released just a couple short months after her first CD "Inside Out", and I think it really was more a collaboration between her and producer Stuart Brawley saying "Hey, let's do this!" rather than the record company itself. So this is what they came up with. Stunning, isn't it?:)

  • it is stunningly beautiful, just as this adorable woman named Emmy Rossum is. but I really think that she should make an entire double CD of Christmas songs, or perhaps of famous beautiful songs in general. Are you listening, Emmy?

  • I was wondering if she was going to do this with minimal layering, which she did. AWESOME. Seriously. Anybody who says she can't sing after hearing this, I would gladly punch them in the face.

  • If anyone compares her to Lindsay lohan, Hillary Duff, Britney spears or any other disney sensation that thought they could sing, They are SADLY mistaken. Emmy is the real deal! She can sing and act, for example watch Phantom of the Opera. Those are her true vocals, I truly believe she is underrated in both categories. Not only is she naturally beautiful but also equally talented. I really wish I could meet her one day.

  • I know. Me too.

  • @amoeba2315 I KNOW!!! everyone is always dissing her saying that her voice is fake and that computers did all the singing for her. AHHH! burns me up! She is great live!

  • i didn't know she could sing so well....you know i thought she was like any other pop tart but emmy can really belt it out!!! well done emmy!!! well done.

  • Beautiful. I can't wait for the Christmas season this year. Can we speed past Halloween please?

  • Omg, she sings this song soo beautifuly:)

    She is amazing

One word to describe this song: beautiful

  • I don't understand why there are so many people that hate emmy rossum! she's a wonderful actress and singer! and if you don't like her, then kindly fuck off

  • any man who does not have a crush on the beautiful, sweet, sexy, super talented Emmy Rossum, is a gay homo

  • I don't have a crush on Emmy...but yes I am gay! she's my idol, i've admired her since I saw in The Phantom of the Opera.

  • the fact phantomCake does not have a crush on the adorably sexy Emmy Rossum is all the evidence one needs to demonstrate that phantomCake is a gay homo

  • I am! but I admire her greatly!

  • Her voice is amazing! I wish she would've used it more in her CD instead of over-synthesizing her songs.

  • She has a way pretty voice! I love her music.

  • She has a great future ahead of her :D

    I find her music original~

  • She is an amzing woman with an etraordinary voice. So beautiful. This song was made for her. Absolutely exquisite, this brings warmth to my heart, definately puts me in the Christmas mood, and it's only September.

  • Her voice is just plain amazing. It is beautiful.

  • She's so not processed, this is as real she gets.

  • You're processed.

  • That was gold. You made me laugh. x3

Emmy has a great voice: and it's real.

  • so beautiful

  • i love her voice! it doesn't have that pop, funky, britney spears type of tone (like most artists)

  • @sharlynkcb like most een sensations now- miley cyris, demi lavato

  • that is so beautiful

  • this song was like totally perfect for her voice!!

  • Velho, a voz dela é perfeita!

  • preciosa voz :)

  • such a gorgeous voice! she's my idol!

  • mine too, phantom cake.

  • too many pop-isms and scooping. but she has a really nice voice :)

  • beautiful voice

  • A delightfully simple rendition of this old favorite. Her voice is so pure and and beautiful. Gorgeous version of one of my fave Christmas songs!

  • i love her voice!

  • Wow, Bulma can sing!!!

  • who she is too beautiful for her own good and she definitely needs to give me her voice NOW

  • Oooo. I love this. Emmy Rossum has a pretty voice. But its kind of weird how she sing its. No offence Emmy. :)

  • i bet u suck singing mrs angelicvoices of poor breathing techniques

  • so so ;)

  • It's okay to leave a comment like angelicvoices's ; at least it was constructive. But, what kind of an argument did you leave? Yours wasn't progressive at all because you attacked instead of providing specific and sagacious criticism.

  • yea thankyou, her voice is so beautiful and pure to the core!! she's very breathy but it probably is a result of putting every bit of her voice into something like this. she loves to sing so she really gets into it

  • I will bet with you, I know for sure she has those techniques.

  • You are missing the point of my post. This video isn't focused on angelicvoices's voice. This is a video of Emmy. JacobLuvzMe123 attacked angelicvoices instead of presenting a counter argument because s/he disagreed with what angelicvoices had said.

  • I love this song!! :D :D she has an amazing voice!

  • Wow... That's beautiful.

  • i compeletly agree that no one can do this song justice, apart from the amazing emmy rossum :D

  • yeah her and mariah carey definitely rocked this song

  • Wow very nice. Can you send me the mp3 of this song please? I love it, I love it, and I love it =)

  • Buy it off of Amazon or iTunes.

  • She is a great singer. BEAUTIFUL SONG. She has a unique voice and is so lucky to have the looks/talent singing and acting, yet she doesnt throw it away on being a party girl. Yay Emmy!

  • thanks for uploading this!

  • One of the best renditions of the song!!
