@coolkid1446 every pilot turns on the AB befor landing. In case he misses a wire he wanna go full throttle so he doest need to use his parachute if you know what i mean
@coolkid1446 The reason for applying the burners is so if the cable snaps or if he misses it he will still have enough speed and power to get airborn. If he misses the cables the term is a "Bolter". but there ya go :o)
I'm afraid that, from what I've been told after much research, you do need 6/6(almost 20/20) vision. But that is only to be a pilot in the RAF. There are a lot of other roles as well.
whole lot of skills in these pilots, they literarly controll the planes, if they cant land them, no one else can, it's on their hands, i really got impressed of the night landing, cuz you dont see a shit, you have to trust your instruments, your training and what been teached...
do these guys get used to the G-force after flying for so many hours/months etc and does the g-force cause u to get slightly shorter after so many years, i know bob sled racers can lose up to 2 inches from their origanl height by the end of their career
Is this DVD for sale anywhere? I guess it's probably just circulated within the squadron/Hornet community but I'd really like to get a copy of it if possible! Watched a bunch of these vids from the VFA 192 - awesome stuff.
If you are referring to the NAS Oceana Airshow in Virginia Beach, VA....it is usually the 2nd to 3rd weekend in September every year. Keep an eye out on the Airshow schedules.
We bring our own cameras for vids such as these. We have two normal cameras that film normal cockpit views for review after the flight, such as the HUD and other displays.
A British citizen once told me that our air power far exceeds any other country. I can believe this, especially when you see these skilled Navy Pilots! They do rock!
a single US carrier has more attack aircraft on it then 90% of the countries in the world. And the US has 13 active carriers i do believe....plus the airforce....and the marines...and the reserve....scary.
cool Eagle Driver. Are there F15's on the Aircraft carriers as well? I know about the planes with the disks and the F-18s. I have a lot to learn about the Navy, but have been learning a lot form these movies. My son doesn't really discuss anything with me. He is pretty quiet.
Na, F-15's are an Air Force fighter. They cannot land or take-off of carriers. The only US navy fighters are F-18's at the moment. Carriers also fly E-2 hawkeyes S-3 Vikings (soon to retire), and EA-6B Prowlers. All of which have different rolls to play with the US NAVY.
Yes, that is a Super Hornet acting as an airborne tanker. The centerline pod is a combination fuel tank and fuel transfer pod. Tanking is performed on almost every single mission launched from the carrier.
Thank you. That is most interesting. I used to buy parts for aircraft when I worked for the Federal Govt. at a local Air Force Base that is no longer open. I have always been interested in Airplanes. It is fascinating how clever engineers are in developing functions.
These jets are fantastic. I once saw the Blue Angels when they came to Sacramento last. They were practicing before the show, and they flew really low over the American River as I was crossing the bridge. It was a fantastic sight, and you could see the pilot's faces, they were that close. I have to hand it to the pilots, they must have very strong stomachs to hold up when going upside down LOL. BRAVO!
Anyone else notice The F-15 @ 2:40

How I wish I had 20/20(6/6) vision......
Damn you RAF!

Mate, I don't think you need 20/20 of the bat. but be correctable to that.

@chickenruler
They are currently having laser eye serguries to allow people to become pilots.
But note this. It has to be preformed by them. The way they do it corrects your vision without weakening the eye to g forces.

they are not allowed to put in the radio calls
and the music adds more rhythm and makes it sound better
AAFC111 2 years ago
Of course they're allowed to put in radio calls, wtf are you smoking.
TonyDog360 2 years ago
Why do people always have to dub lame music over these videos. It'd be so much better if you could hear the hum of the engines and the radio chatter.
