Nothing new here...English Bareknuckle Pugilism from the 1700s was basically what '52 blocks' is trying to be! Stupid fuckers trying to reinvent the wheel.
Most of the best fighters in the world comes out of prison or military. The style looks effective I hate when people say stupid stuff about something they don't understand. There was a Kung fu master named wow! I can't remember his name said 52 blocks is legit. Joe Frazier also said 52 is nothing to play with.
Pretty impressive. When it comes to the martial arts most times the best ones come from the harshest environments. Hard to think of many environments harsher that the prison system. My hat is off to these guys for developing a unique system.
cant personally think of a environment where you have super tough dudes with nothing but time and ABSOLUTE necessity to develop a system that works within a boxing type style. in short i will listen to these men for sure when they are talking! i'm probably to old and slow to apply it but i have no doubt i will gain some great insights, thanks for sharing, much respect.
Just like I was telling Modern Shinobi92, you at the very least have to be a "amateur boxer". You can't step to these guys without HAVING THE PROPER FOOTWORK which is taught in boxing. If your footwork is not up to par meaning you couldn't spar with a boxer, your 52 would be useless in a real fight. This is not a belt system, this is a step up from boxing.
@curtisb3000 thatnk you for your response. Im a Martial Artist and id really like to implement 52 into my arsenal. I was just wondering how to get involved with this gym and train directly under Born Justus and Spark.
To even begin to understand and implement 52 in your arsenal, you at the very least have to be a "amateur boxer". In NYC you might be able to get someone to teach you - it's not a something you need to be Black to learn. It's devastating against most other strikers because 95% of strikers have never been taught or learned this rare form of striking.
why do people talk about boxing and martial arts like they're seperate? boxing is a martial art. one of the oldest, pugilism goes back to the beginning of documentation.
@allshallbelosttoyou true.and if we can beleive historians then it is very quite possible that the army of Alexander the Great spread it all over asia, and from it grew out all other kind of martial arts that are specific to asia!
@Krisznyo doubtful. i say its one of the oldest form of fighting because naturally. no doubt various peoples across the world had there own methods of strictly upper body based striking. the greco roman is simply the oldest known version. and the way the did it actually looks nothing like today's bowing. they would strike with only one arm while using the other for constant defense. one arm was the sword and the other the shield.
@allshallbelosttoyou The earliest references to Chinese martial arts are found in the Spring and Autumn Annals (5th century BCE),[9] where a hand to hand combat theory, including the integration of notions of "hard" and "soft" techniques, is mentioned.
@Krisznyo true these may be the earliest references but know one knows how much time may have for various peoples before they actually started to write things down.
I think If Mayweather studied Panuntukan based of Dirty Boxing from Pikiti Tirsia kali System, he can easily beat Pacqiao.
Do you Know Pacquiao trained in Panantukan System of Kali, he can execute multiple times of punches in a second. That's what other Asian Boxer do when defeating Champion.
@yawars1 Why would Mayweather learn panantukan? Pacquiao trained panantukan because it's part of his heritage. The same reason I did. The same reason I learned kali. My uncles are the best knife fighters in my family. It's culture, bro. Panantukan is ancient like muay thai boran. It's nothing new...pekiti tirsia is just another system. PTK is used by every military because it's easy to learn and efficient for killing. Panantukan is just boxing. Mabuhay, 52 blocks! Keep it alive!
born into it, from the streets of poverty and racial tension. oppression breeds death or the deadly. behind the wall or whatever you have to be brought up within violence to survive the most violent and hostile environment. just like the evolution of all martial arts we find this thing here amongst the inner city, the ghetto where we were rolling in the streets before bjj came unto the scene. all this is a slight return to roots, back to the primitive culture of the noble savage. its a God send
these brothers are the soul of 52 not only because of their skills but also because the positive energy that they put out i just pray that BJ and Sparks see fit to bring it to the west coast preferebly LasVegas
