The reason why nobody could make a good Crow movie sequel is because the actors were, quite frankly, shit. Brandon Lee captured it best, when he played as Eric Draven you could literally feel his pain of losing his loved one. The rest didn't seem like they were in pain at all, at least not to the extent that they should have been. The only one I think that managed to get closer than the rest to Brandon Lee's performance was the third Crow, he at least put some effort into it.

Brandon died because the crew, by accident, created a "real" round from a blank cartridge (just gunpowder no bullet) and a "squib load" (a cartridge with a bullet and primer powder, but NO gunpowder. The squib load was first created, test fired, and the primer powder just popped the bullet out of the case and into the gun's barrel, pointing at target. Unchecked. Then the blank was left in (WITH gunpowder, no bullet). The gunpowder from the blank + the 'stuck' bullet in the barrel = "Real round"
