  • This is a very intersting video !!

  • I wish I had a yard to try and grown Granny Smith apples. I use them in my pies and I am constantly buying apples this time of year lol...someday, maybe...thanks for the info!

  • Hi, i planted 2 honeycrisp and ome gala dwaf apples trees this year. They are about 5.5 feet tall. will i get apples next year from them? Thanks

  • @lar4305 You may not want to let your new trees bloom the first year, but rather let them put on some vegetative growth. Then let them bloom the next year.

  • Thanks for posting this. I have been looking to slowly change my vigorous Red Delicious tree over to some more usable varieties. When is the best time to take the scions from donor trees and graft them into my tree?

  • @MsClockworkrabbit I usually cut my scions in late march or early April, depending on the weather, just before bud swell. This is just prior to silver tip, when the buds start to get fuzzy and silver in color. Grafting can be done in April or as soon as the tree comes out of dormancy if you are not bench grafting. Most bench grafting is done in August.

  • @orchardkeeper Thank you so much!

  • wow that was amazing. i never knew about grafting and seed mutation. I'm truly amazed and grateful for you sharing your knowledge. Thank you.
