  • Genius. I saw her performing Scriabin and Liszt earlier this winter. She captures the barbaric masculinity of Prokofiev but still maintains a feminine attention to detail. Also, her back and arm muscles are jacked.

  • 3:34 the guy behind her was like "WTF?"

  • Comment removed

  • Yuja Wang and Frederic Chiu are the best Prokofiev interpreters.

  • Putting together the YT Orchestra is a great idea to promote the musicians - But then again what's with the Yuja role in all that? DG bankrolling this thing? It must take someone of great intelligence and extraordinary musical sensitivity to grasp "why Yuja"! LOL

  • unreal.

  • he just wanted le hug

  • Nice to look at, but so fast it's almost meaningless

  • @Spass674 Hmmm--hadn't realized these pieces had "meaning" beyond tempo's called for in the score's--bravo Yuja!

  • i was there

  • ...hard not to remark on the flames blasting out of MTT's ass, he damn near outshone Yuja with this. Her Prokofiev scherzo, done in her customary "sawing-machine" manner, did not really have the requisite prokofievian sarcasm-bite, and playing it as a bon-bon, out of the context of the entire concerto is a dumb idea anyway...but she nailed the unadvertised "bumblebee" just great, that is what Yuja is for, right?...

  • The second piano piece that she played was by Rimsky-Korsakov not Prokofiev!!!

  • insider knowledge: MTT bangs Wang

  • @brozors ...the REAL insider thing is that she forces him to do it a GUNPOINT...and I want to know the make and calliber of the gun...I live in Texas, and that is what I get off on...and, anyway, that is the way I get any action anyway, at the point of a gun...

  • lol wang

  • I wonder what it would be like to get a hand job from her?..

  • bravo....she got the blood from franz liszt. 10/10

  • "You're such a great friend...(And a sexy lady)."

  • ow it's more difficult than hannon exercises...

  • god she plays like a robot made by the nerdiest germans

  • She plays great, but the orchestra is a mess!! doesn't help her!!!!

  • sexing.

  • Looks like she took some hair tips from old Ludwig van himself! :D

I love the craziness of it though.

  • @snaredrums123 I think she did it on purpose...lol (;

  • Braaaaavo!

  • piano must have exploded after she left the stage....too much awesomeness. o_O i agree to this

  • @natetwo3 the piano just came and so is my laptop

  • Wang plays for a YouTube Symphony??? Wow....YouTube is trying to get legitimate right away huh? I wonder if they can pay Wang's fee

  • Even without piano, my fingers don't move like that!

  • it's amazing the piano doesn't catch fire from the epicness

  • perfect.®

  • fantastic

  • yuja wang is awesome! a great pianist

  • out standing playing

  • She is an angel first class, just amazing.

  • Yuja Rocks!!! I love her work...

  • Her clarity is amazing

  • the stupid cameraman focus on the piano most of time

  • @jestudio I agree..but it's actually several cameramans taping the same angle, they just edited it. But yah...I see too much of the piano

  • I like the encore much more.

  • I.Love.The.Last.Note. :D

  • @xXJawruWolfXx As in 5 :07 :D

  • SPEECHLESS!!!!!! :o

  • this makes me think Ive accomplished nothing in the 14 years of my life

  • Comment removed

  • I am left speechless! It is not her hands that is fantastic, it is her mind which causes those hands to move so coordinated. She is truly amazing.

  • those hands...man...so good...bravo...

  • ¿ alguien quiere mas?

  • the starting part of this piece could be sounded in horror scenes

  • Quite good.

  • she looks crazy O_o...awesome!

  • He wants to fuk her so bad, you can tell in his voice...

  • I'm speechless! That was playing the likes has never been seen before! She is up there with Perahia and Volodos. Liszt would have fainted!

  • she's from my country. China

  • Comment removed

  • @HanlinSG Ooooooooooooooooohhh !!!!! NO! Really??????!!!!! WOOOW

  • @igorek1982 what do you mean 'NO!'?

  • if i were Yuja, i'd start while he's still talking.

  • @blueychoc rude

  • @Pambyta lolol, it's called NO PATIENCE not rude.

  • everything is so well conducted and orchestrated,

    well done.

  • Prokofiev rules

  • When she plays it looks like magic.

  • He is in love with her. Her sexy, yet pretty banal, radiation manages to seduce him. She is a shallow woman, simple. He should be too matured to fall for such thing. He must be new about Asians...

  • @pvn2474 Keep your thinly veiled racist opinion to yourself, please.

  • @pvn2474 I'm an azn guy and I have to say this is interesting.

  • wo aii nee

  • the bumble bee is not nearly as difficult as it looks. that technique is purely show, for ppl who dont play piano it looks impossible but its for Yuja its nothing

  • @anonymousQ45 let me specify, the hands apart octave technique

  • @anonymousQ45

yes the original bumble bee by Rimsky-korsakov arr. Rachmaninov is not as difficult, but take a look at who arranged this version that she is playing. Arr. Cziffra. basically, it's one of the hardest arrangements of any song, ever.

  • @anonymousQ45 As the other guy said, the Cziffra version is from another world if you compare it to the original =)

  • @XDSakuraBlossomXD Actually, it's like around 2:50

  • she is awesome and beautiful.

  • Comment removed

  • she's got muscles on her fingers!

  • Awww she looks so humble and modest.

  • i want her to marry me xD

  • wow!!!

  • mullet

  • It is kind refreshing to see another Chinese Pianist after Lang Lang, Yundi LI. They all have their style and superior technic and amazing maturity in piano playing.

  • @wikct2 i prefer volodos and MAH

  • I am speechless O_O The new Martha Argerich of this era !

  • I only wish that the endlessly hammy Lang Lang would take a lesson from Yuja Wang and realize that it is possible to have astonishing technical virtuosity without all the neck-craning and face-making he goes through.

  • looks like theres no resistance in the keys.....

  • that guy talks too much. Yuja is super-human, we know that, she could also be a successful model!!

  • The idiot is MTT.

  • @jumpbuck8 who is by the way one of the greatest living American conductors.

  • I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but yuja wang's hair represents a LOT like beethoven's hair. it made me lol.

  • It's fun to watch the hammers move. Yuja and Prokofiev were made for each other!

  • @jerrytomball that can be misinterpreted SO badly.

    :P

  • Semplicemente eccezionale!!!

  • this girl was born to play piano

  • that movement always reminds me of a tom & jerry chase scene

  • One of the major problems with an interplanetary expedition to Mars (as oppesed to the Moon), is that it takes so freaking long because you can't afford to carry the the fuel to jack up the propulsion. Now we have a solution: the flame power out Mr.MTT's rear end will take care of the NASA's problem. Solutions to these problems come frrom unexpected places, don't they? Maybe we can put that thing to use in the Gulf, too.

  • yuja rocks!!!!

  • Yuja inhabits the composer and music. The man who introduces her is maestro Michael TIlson Thomas, conductor of the San Francisco Symphony. He created the YouTube Symphony, enabling young musicians worldwide to audition via YouTube perform before a huge worldwide audience. He also founded the New World Symphony for talented young musicians, many of whom go onto play with world-class symphonies. Every professional classical musician I know wishes they could play for MTT.

  • @bubbazo WOW ok i'll keep my mouth shut! you win, i just said, Maestro MIchael, was really annoying in that introducction, but if you know Him, and Yuja Wang personally i have nothing else to say, you may know them so well, grettings

  • He did all that so that he can hug her.

  • that guy is annoying

  • Ahahah she is RIDICULOUS...

  • whoa frizzy hair XD

  • I wonder how many calories yuja loses ;o when playing the piano... T_T... must be great though D:

  • Thanks Symphony! Excellent video and performance by Ms. Wang!!!

    Alexis Acosta

  • A Cute Cello Player At Her Side~~Yummy!! HaHa

  • @POPYLOLY8 She's all like "WTF WTF WTF WTF!?!?!?!?! This is unreal..." lol

  • @simondsaid - - ->> `` Whatever! !

  • I don't see how she can still manage to still play so incredibly after that douchebag keeps throwing her off! ahh i wanna slap that guy

  • @chutdigadut LOOOL

  • I wish I was half as talented at anything as she is at playing the piano.

  • MR DIRECTOR!! SHUT UP!! she is so prepared to play

  • @Jamez5cz The man who introduces her is maestro Michael TIlson Thomas, conductor of the San Francisco Symphony. He created the YouTube Symphony, enabling young musicians worldwide to audition via YouTube perform before a huge worldwide audience. He also founded the New World Symphony for talented young musicians, many of whom go onto play with world-class symphonies. We are grateful to him, not critical. Oh, BTW, Yuja adores him.

  • @bubbazo well i didn't know that, i don't know yuja wang personally, do you? or where did you find that?

  • @Jamez5cz I know both MTT and Yuja personally.

  • LOOK t her arm muscles

  • I've heard several and I think I will like the one's I haven't heard yet! Great young lady.^^

  • holy

  • @hohohee1

    shut up and F'k off

  • Guy: thank you sou much for being with us

yuja wang: yeah yeah ( they shake hands )

yuha thinks:(just shut up you faggot! )

  • That man at the intro loves her:)

  • wth! i couldn't even keep up with her fingers. very talented musician.

  • that guys a total fag

  • Ow, the orchestra...

  • Curious: when there's a male pianist you can't even dream to see a conversation about his looks; but with a female one, it is the first thing you expect and the first thing you find

  • thats hands

    more than hands

  • Can someone tell me which Bumblebee transcription is the one that she plays at 5:55?? It's amazing D:

  • @rurikrussi cziffra's

  • Pause at 2:23, behind the host, a bit to the left.

    Is that Peter Kay!? xD

  • After watching this again..it's annoying how he's the one who gets to meet her (despite he's a conductor)..but he doesn't even say her name right! How hard is it for Americans to pronounce "wang' with an "a" sound as in "water" instead of "wang" with and "ang" sound in "bang"?!?!?!?!?

  • Comment removed

  • I wanna kiss her hands.....shes amazing.

  • I want cry, that call hands?

  • She and Volodos and Min Kwon are my piano heroes!!

  • her hands are flying like stereotypical nerds hand fly while typing simply awesome

  • I'm surprised Yuja shook his hand. At Lang Lang's concert, he even used layers of towel to adjust his fan~

  • definetely!

  • hottest pianist of all times ???

  • Not by a long shot.

Whilst she is a fantastic pianist she's hardly 'the hottest' female pianist to grace our ears.

try Valentina Igoshina or Anna Fedorova. Both are excellent pianists and infinitely 'hotter.'

  • Isn't everyone entitled to his/her own opinion? I personally think she looks better than Valentina Igoshina or Anna Fedorova, but tastes differ I suppose ;)

It doesn't really matter anyway. I appreciate all of them for the wonderful music they produce.

  • How is Valentina hotter? Yuja has a perfect body, but Valentina shows signs of never exercising...but different strokes for different folks.

  • Amazing talent.

  • Yuja's all ready to go and the guy's talking, she's like : just shut up and let me play before I lose my concentration

  • @vincentws03 I can't get over how he did that before a song like this...

  • @vincentws03 The man who introduces her is maestro Michael TIlson Thomas, conductor of the San Francisco Symphony. He created the YouTube Symphony, enabling young musicians worldwide to audition via YouTube perform before a huge worldwide audience. He also founded the New World Symphony for talented young musicians, many of whom go onto play with world-class symphonies. We should be grateful not critical for what he has done. And, by the way, I heard that Yuja adores him.

  • @vincentws03 Vincentws03 knows more about Yuja Wang than anyone else in the world--the universe.

  • hey.. the piano's on fire. it's On FIYA!!!

  • that encore was epic. i think it was Flight of the Bumble Bee.

  • OMG, that encore was epic. Her fingers looked like a video of someone playing piano being fastforward, but I couldn't believe it was actual speed. Wow bravo.

  • she is extremely talented .

  • 5:50 lol

  • Wow, she is amazing, so very fast. A really talanted girl =)

  • I love Yuja!!! She's performing at my school, Denison University, this February with the Russian National Orchestra. If you're anywhere near Ohio, you should try and visit Denison for this concert!

A Google search for "Denison Vail Series" should bring up the calendar, for anyone who's interested.

  • I go to Oberlin and would love to see her perform - could you post the link?

  • @pianoman1189 Sure thing, although Youtube is really anal about posting links.

    vail . denison . edu

  • Really 王羽佳 is young and modest but very great artist, one of the best I have eve heard

  • That Bumblebee flight is just insane !!!!

  • Yuja! Come back to Philadelphia! We miss you!

  • best flight of the bumblebee so far eh folks?find me a better one!

  • I definitely recommend seeing her live. Its true, she has a sense of energy and fun that is a must-see. She's actually quite goofy and jokes around alot, which is very refreshing to see and needed in this generation.

  • what the- O_O

  • she come from China,

    and name is王羽佳。

    展現高度的演奏天分!

  • O-o

  • Stupendous!

  • Which version did she play for flight of the bumblebee??

  • Cziffra's version.

  • she's like nodame!!!! look at her mouth when he played flight of the bumblebee

  • what

  • stagesix6, you are so right. the ways yuja wang plays does remind me of rui from the nodame movie.

or maybe it's just her clothes and the fact that she is chinese.

  • she is more like nodame..look at her moth when she played flight of the bumblebee....

  • my classmates said "maybe teacher make it fastforward" (wrong grammar?hehe) haha!!

  • and my friend said "hoho!!" an' u kno how i replied? HEHE!!

  • her fingers make me say "awesome"!

  • Grande Yuja......bravissima!!!

  • I don't know who is insinuating that it's sped up, but musicians have been known to play that fast, so it is obviously not. Besides, the pitch would be altered, were it sped up.
