  • hard shit OVERGROUND NO WHERE NEAR SIMPLE

  • THIS SONGZ DOPE

  • you guys that say this or that about group home, perhaps this will sum it up. these guys were hand selected by Premier becuz of several things but for the most part was their uniqueness and message. these guys ultimately werent the best mc's but they were able you give you a multitude of of elements that would keep you listening... its pure emotion. its real street music and not the first reference of a gun, money, or sex. Premier package these guys perfectly... "So much anger built inside..."

  • how does this shit have 393000 views?

  • @njsurfing1 its called classic material. i grew up listening to group home and they're still one of my favorite rap duos and livin proof is a 5 star lp... not trying to be a dick or nothing but which video do you think derserves that many hits?

  • @paulisnotdeadprime He does have a couple raw songs though, "Sacrifice" for example.

  • @paulisnotdeadprime Are you fucking serious you think Melachi sucks? How could you like Group Home but not Melachi? He's dope as fuck, he rips up this track and supa star aswell.

  • @SuperPurpleUrkle melachi is fucking awful. he sounds like a little kid trying to rap. lil dap is the group home.

  • @paulisnotdeadprime

he's ok, his voice just sucks though

  • @paulisnotdeadprime "I wasn't rich and I also wasn't poor" duuude

  • @paulisnotdeadprime I'm a little new to Group Home. Which one is Melachi?

  • @jmarrvin first one is lil dap , melachi second

  • @mitzapooy Thanks, I just wanted to check whether I had any musical taste when it comes to hip hop. However, I think I agree with your previous comment: melachi was good in this song. However, I've noticed he isn't always this good. "Up against the wall", for instance.

  • @paulisnotdeadprime "My mental, flex more complex than mozarts instrumental"

How can you not like that?

  • DONT TALK THE TALK IF YOU CANT WALK THE WALK! NO DOUBT! CLASSIC

  • @LUVIZPAINSTILL That's right, too many people talking the talk and ain't walking the walk. Remember that when someone is talking shit to you. They ain't going to do shit! LMAO!!! That's my favorite line too. :)P

"Here is dope rhyme one time for your mind, if you deaf, dumb and blind you're suspended in time" <--- that's how you address a nation

  • Classic of Da Hip Hop

  • X=D

  • Songs back then had messages, and made you think. It was actually talent needed. People just do it for the money now-a-days.

  • Mid 90's sound at it's finest. This one is like a hidden gem or a lost artifact right here.

  • east coast at it's finest. when this first came out and played on 88.9 emerson college radio in boston i friggen lost my mind. some serious drama yo. epic lyrics. crank it up!

  • @KingMagnetic lol @ the comment

  • @KingMagnetic lololol!!!!!

  • FREE PILLZ!

  • no where nearrr simple, my mental, flex more complex than mozarts instrumental 0:50

  • What do you guys mean by Weak lyrics? Im italian and maybe can't get them properly, but in my opinion simplicity doesnt necessarily means weakness. After all this is just jazz, music from the people! - Group home is no dubt one of the greatest rap acts ever. Who lived those days surely knows what im talking about

  • @ritmo76 idk most of the gangstarr foundation was alrite my favs were bahamadia defari and a fu ra but the greatest mc not only in the foundation but also ine of the greatest ever in hiphop was guru ,him and premo were a great duo that matched perfectly

  • Maybe the most slept on hip hop album of all time...

  • man this tune is perfect

  • sik tune nice video too threw the projects

  • OMG.. I LOOVE THIS SHIT I WAS IN LEHMAN HS IN THE BX IN 95 AND ILL TELL THIS TO EVERYONE...HIP HOP THESE DAYS CANT EVEN HOLD UP TO THE GOLDEN ERA OF HIP HOP WHICH WAS 92-99.. THERE WERE NO LEMONADE EVERYTHING OR MC'S WHO RAP IN SIMPLE WORDS SO THAT A FOUR YEAR OLD COULD UNDERSTAND IT. ITS WAS ALL ABOU BLUNTS, BITCHES AND BREAD HAIL.. TO THE GANGSTARR FOUNDATION, DITC CREW, BOOT CAMP CLICK WU TANG, CNN AND ALL OTHERS WHO MADE A DOLLAR OUT OF 15 CENTS

  • @718bxfinest Tis bring back memories in the 804 sippin forties and listenin to this song and up against the wall man Real lyrics need to come back in full force Premo is the best besides dilla

  • @718bxfinest for reallllllllll exxelllllllllllllllllent comment peace

  • @718bxfinest

Its was all about blunts & bitches? what? Ofcourse it was about that to but.. it was more then that, it was about life, it was knowledge straight from your heart, u could learn from it! they had a message. Nowadays "hiphop" i say hip-pop, is all about blunts & bitches.. cars, chains etc and dont make any fucking sense, it makes all the 14-15 year old kids dumb as fuck.

  • @718bxfinest 732 LOVE IT NJ NJ NY NJ

  • @718bxfinest word

  • @718bxfinest Amen bro! this generation of "Hip Hop" now a days makes me sick! respect to the GOLDEN ERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and all the real people!

  • JUNIOR HIGH IS144 IN THE BRONX

  • real hip hop? wow omg thats insane

  • this been on repeat all day

  • I luv Old SChool rap !!!

  • Lil Dap said "I think about my soul, cause this shell is just a frame, only used for money, hustlin' & playin' the game"...that's tough

  • that 11 who disslike this are joking with their own live :))

  • Oh, this brings back memories. This sound was perfect for those inner-city London times in the 90s: kinda spoke to you and made sense while you traversed the cold, grey, depressing concrete.

    I miss those days.

  • Wow, this shit is hot! can't believe I slept on this!

  • Any other amazed people? None? Don't give a f*ck, listening to this track a second hour now. It's... depressing... but really good! 2nd in my top 20

  • @hk9449 Melachi's lyrics are hardly weak, the mental flex / mozart's instrumental lyric is incredible. They were really young when this was dropped as well.

  • lil dap was my nigga. nutcracker balanced it though

  • So many people don't know about Brownsville/East New York during the 80's and 90's. Raw is a good definition. This track typifies this area of Brooklyn which is in a reputation all by itself. What's ever been about this video, it was shot in the winter which is the best time to show NYC at it best. Can't tell what projects where in the background but it appeared to be Linden Houses. NO JOKE!!! ENY all day baby.

  • @Baltimorehop I used to take the train from the Bronx all alllllllllllllllllll the fucking way to east New York taking hours but it was worth it.

  • @Baltimorehop, you know any other hip hop in this style that you could tell me about? This is my favourite album right now.

  • @MrJack141516 ~ look for anything from Jeru the Damaja; O.G.C.; Heltah Skeltah; Das EFX; O.C.; Gang Starr... Start there. Simply run those names through YT & you should be most certainly satisfied. I call it that Brownsville/East New York Realness. It's some of the mos real & raw hip hop you will ever listen in your life.

  • @Baltimorehop LARGE PROFESSOR !!!!

  • Skoob aka Books and Krazy Drayzy in da house no doublt 5*****!!!

  • this shit is dope-------man lil wayne making hip hop for them white folks, that shit is garbage.

  • Really sick track

  • That's why sometimes I forgot that Im living in 2010 year... I prefer to stay on 90's!

My beats are reflection of that!

    Peace!

  • Dis dat ny winter music.

  • damn great song- great time in history- if you grew up in this era of hip hop be proud cause you witnessed great music and creativity. Todays hip hop is so wack.

  • Fucking Amazing Beat and Lyrics are so real.

  • damn

    i just watch this n i feel like falling n crying :(

no joke... i hate this auto tune techno shit thats poppin now

    ....

  • I'm pulling this out 15 years later and making this my Winter 2010-2011 song.

  • TACKLEBOX

  • for some oooooddd ass reason in the winter time in high school I used to listen to this song on the way to school for the entire winter, like just gave me an eerie vibe.

  • @ghana25 Yes you are. Its ok tho I am too. I do remember when they used to make good tv and trl will always be osm. I never watch it any more bc they lost all the edge they had.

  • @ghana25 im only 14 but i remember being like 3 and watching mtv at 2am and all they played back then was music videos... good ones too

  • @kestlerlikespie You wasnt even born during the making of this videoclip. Secondly, I live in the Netherlands and people here rather like "popular" music.

  • @ghana25 what matters if i wasnt born at this time? you made a comment that made you seem young too, which reminded of like 98 where i watched mtv and all they played was music videos

  • @kestlerlikespie "all they played was music videos"

So did I say that mtv was not playing music videos? I said that I can't remember mtv (in the Netherlands) playing music videos like this on.

  • @kestlerlikespie by the way, so you can remember watching video clips on mtv as a 3 year old? haha

  • @ghana25 of course i dont remember it vividly but i remember it happening almost every night for a very long time just because for some reason it was really fun and interesting when i was so little

  • Yo I got a secret only a few of us know about, real hip hop.

  • real hiphop NEVER dies

  • Lil dap lyrics on this are soooooo real!!!!! Classic!!
