  • isn't there a church of latter day saints without the jesus christ part that don't believe that jesus is the son of god? because i know some christian missionaries out in utah that preach to mormons, the ones that believe in poligomy i think. can anyone help me out?

  • @16goarmy That is the flds church (the fundamentalist latter day saints) which have nothing in common with the lds church. The only similarity they share is that they both believe that Joseph Smith and Brigham Young weree prophets.

  • The law of the Lord is perfect, everything is connected and just

  • I have been trying to study different Christian theologies and this was the kind of video I was look for, for Mormonism. Who ever posted this, thanks so much!

  • You're welcome! I have 400+ other videos about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints if you're interested.

Feel free to message me with any additional questions.

  • ok you guys, as a Christian (Syrian Orthodox) i, like many of you differ greatly with LDS doctrine, but being insulting jerks who are trying to win arguments makes us look petty. if you differ, be civil about it. i'll bet mormons don't spend their sunday mornings bashing us.

  • Principle #1. Prayer becomes more meaningful as we counsel with the Lord in all our doings (see Alma 37:37).

  • ..so..im really interested in the bom..i dont understand why does the bom contridict the bible for then if they go hand in hand?

  • There are important parts of the bible that were lost, removed, or altered over the years. The bible as it is now is an anthology of epistles and histories that were decided on by men in the Council of Nicea (spelled wrong?) These men were imperfect. The BOM doesn't contradict the Bible but serves as another testament of Jesus Christ and helps fill in the blanks. When I go to church for example the Bible and the BOM are combined into one book. If that makes sense.

  • because they don't contradict. they COMPLETELY make sense together! i love our church.

  • it doesn't contradict! they go perfectly together. make complete sense. the church is TRUE!!!!

  • apologeticsman, I want to agree with what you stated, but please explain the relevnace of 2nd Tim 2:5 with respect to what you said.

  • You can't restore something that was indestructible to begin with. The word "church" has nothing to do with a worldly organization, nor does it have anything to do with apostles, prophets or temples, etc. The church is not a visible entity, it is the outcome of true faith in Jesus as Lord and savior. Jesus said that His kingdom is not of this world, so any church which grounds God to this world is false, and if it teaches that men can't know God accept through it, it lies. 2 Tim 2:5

  • The real only way to know is to read the bible and then compare it to the Book of mormon. I wish it was simple as praying but like it says in proverbs 28:26 and in Jeremiah 17:9. The heart is foolish and who can know it. You have to gain wizdom through the bible praying for god to help you see what he has ment for us to see. just praying alone wont do it

  • John 14:26 -- But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

I think it is important to read the Bible and the Book of Mormon--compare them and you will find the same gospel. Have you read the entire Book of Mormon?

Studying it out in our minds and hearts, and then praying about it, and receiving a witness from the Holy Ghost, will do it.

  • they are completly different!!..how can u say that? do u know how insulted god is when u and u mormons say that. the ONLY true book is the bible.

dont get me started on AAAALL the contridictions there are.

  • A careful reading of John 5 and John 17 give a pretty clear illustration of the separateness and at the same time the absolute unity in purpose of Jesus, His Father, and the Holy Spirit. That is why He preserved these teachings, so we can better come to know God, and then be better able to comprehend ourselves. Having been created in the very image of God, we should understand the kind of person He is. Then we can better follow His injunction to Follow Him, and to strive to become like Him.

  • I think a careful reading of John 5 and John 17 help us grasp the separateness, yet unity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I really do not understand why the Christian Fathers discarded this truth in favor of some immaterial glob of characteristics hundreds of years after Christ rose from the dead. The teaching itself destroys faith and mocks religious belief. God is not pleased nor amused. He is our father. We are created in His image. We are not in the image of an ethereal mass.

  • somebody answer these questions; why joseph smith? why arnt men equally able to talk to god (your so called prophets can)?

  • Why Joseph Smith? Because the time had come for the restoration of all things, the times of refreshing, of restitution of all things.

  • Men can talk to God perhaps not face to face until they get a better relationship with him but all can have a personal relationship with him. You see we believe God wants all of us to get to know him but for each one of us we have certain forordained missions that we are to fullfill. JS was choosen to restore and lead God's church even before this life. Therefore when he sought God he was given his devine mission. So all can have God speak to them in their hearts and guilde them in their life.

  • Why Joseph Smith? He was a 15 year old farm boy, who believed the Bible was the Word of God and he had faith that God would hear and answer his prayers.

Why Prophets? Prophets act as God's mouthpiece on earth. They teach us about Christ and invite us to come unto Christ. God has always called prophets to teach and guide his children. The Bible is a record of such teachings and guidance, as is the Book of Mormon. We now have living prophets again that teach us and guide us to come to Christ.

  • I wish it were true.

  • It is true!

  • Pray about it that's the only way to know

  • see thats the same old excuse mormons have. "pray about it" well ive prayed and i know that the mormon religion is a cult and not of the true jesus..

cant argue with that can we :)

  • I'm not trying to tell you what to believe, but I can obviously tell you didn't do it with a sincere heart, and most likely prayed with arrogance and negative thoughts.

  • how would u know?

i didnt even need to pray because the evidence is overwelming that mormonism is not christian or true.

wot i dont understand is that mormons cannot see the truth..no offence but that is the up most truth. ..do i even need to go into details why?

  • " "pray about it" well ive prayed and"

did you get an answer? and if so what was it and how was it delivered?

  • How can i have this example of videos bro. Thanks!

  • You know...We are so very lucky to have had the opportunity to come to earth in in Dispensation and to search out the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel so privleged to me a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint's. I Love the Gospel. Thanks again for sharing your video's, I can feel the spirit through your work. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ...Amen

  • c'mon, man! ITS IN THE BIBLE THAT GOD, JESUS, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT ARE !1! BEING! LDS cant just change that part of the bible. afterall- you are christian too.

  • No,it is not! There are several instances in the Bible that prove God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are separate beings: At Jesus' baptism, He was standing in the water, the voice came from heaven, and the Holy Ghost appeared in the sign of the dove; Jesus prayed to Heavenly Father, NOT to Himself; Stephen, when he was stoned, saw Heavenly Father, with Jesus Christ standing on His right side. The Trinity is false doctrine, created by a council of scholars, long after the last apostle was killed.

  • ok...there is the father, son, and holy spirit. there is one god and he is all of the 3! they are his characteristics that seperate him into 3 people! otherswise there would be a stuggle. and i take back my commment about you guys being christian because god and the son and the holy spirit are one!

  • How grateful we are for the words of the Bible. It's wonderful to have the words of Jesus himself when he walked the earth. Read John chapter 5, and John chapter 17. They really help explain the distinct separateness of Jesus from His Father and from the Holy Ghost, but then speak of their unity in all they do. I am not sure why hundreds of years after Christ was resurrected the Christian Fathers agreed to make them all the same person. But today we can reclaim our God and His Son Jesus Christ.

  • Great video.

  • What a wonderful message to share with non-members, then all we need to do as members is share our personal testimony to make it complete.

  • Nice overview.
