What a flippin genius! Totally under appreciated. Looking back, I bet he must have totally confounded the record industry who probably had no idea how to categorize him.
Knew Joe (David) in the 80's pretty well. Probably one of the most interesting cats I've ever known. He spent the summer of '83 in my apartment building in Venice, CA. I introduced him to his 2nd wife. I say this rarely, but certainly he's a genius. Misunderstood, though . . .but a heart of gold. I always felt like his "German Shepherd Guard Dog". He taught me a very valuable lesson about life, too. Miss you pal.
@zivala1 second wife?Everyone knows about the first on...didn't realize that he took the plunge another time....Venice,Ca is a very interesting place been there several times
We lived in the same building on East 13th Street. I'm 5' tall. Doing laundry next to Joe Jackson was truly daunting. Yes, because of his height but mostly because I was and am a huge fan. Great clip.
@LillyBellini05 I had a buddy of mine tell me that after doing a gig he would sort of hang at the bar- just like the rest of us.. i forget where in Manhattan he played.. bought him a beer too!
ONe of the things people may not know about Joe Jackson is that he's friggin' huge. He walked into The Big Kahuna Club in Manhattan in the early 90's and he seemed like he was around 6'7" tall.

Didn't know how much of a rockin song this was live. Way better than the stuffy album version. Post punk at its finest....

Hopped up on some good stuff back then. Sounds great live, glad they didn't go with the whole lipsync thing.
