  • What a flippin genius! Totally under appreciated. Looking back, I bet he must have totally confounded the record industry who probably had no idea how to categorize him.

  • Didn't know how much of a rockin song this was live. Way better than the stuffy album version. Post punk at its finest....

  • Certainly better than the crap SNL is cranking out today!

  • godamn what an amazing song, and what an awsome performance.

  • the epitome of 80's new wave.

  • Is that Rhea Perlman on glockenspiel?

  • Hopped up on some good stuff back then. Sounds great live, glad they didn't go with the whole lipsync thing.

  • he just stepped in to another world lol

  • Knew Joe (David) in the 80's pretty well. Probably one of the most interesting cats I've ever known. He spent the summer of '83 in my apartment building in Venice, CA. I introduced him to his 2nd wife. I say this rarely, but certainly he's a genius. Misunderstood, though . . .but a heart of gold. I always felt like his "German Shepherd Guard Dog". He taught me a very valuable lesson about life, too. Miss you pal.

  • @zivala1 second wife?Everyone knows about the first on...didn't realize that he took the plunge another time....Venice,Ca is a very interesting place been there several times

  • i was about 22 when this came out...i cant remember what its like to be 22 anymore

  • I have a fever for more red beret and xylophone.

  • @cqtaylor That's a glockenspiel. Xylophones have wood keys.

  • Just bitchin!

  • i love joe jackson this song is so great thank you rijog love, william "the joker"

  • nothing like a good mallet percussion section in a pop band.

  • horrible here live...

  • We lived in the same building on East 13th Street. I'm 5' tall. Doing laundry next to Joe Jackson was truly daunting. Yes, because of his height but mostly because I was and am a huge fan. Great clip.

  • @LillyBellini05 I had a buddy of mine tell me that after doing a gig he would sort of hang at the bar- just like the rest of us.. i forget where in Manhattan he played.. bought him a beer too!

  • @LillyBellini05 Did you ever talk to him??

  • ONe of the things people may not know about Joe Jackson is that he's friggin' huge. He walked into The Big Kahuna Club in Manhattan in the early 90's and he seemed like he was around 6'7" tall.

  • @jamo387 Big Kahuna was 1 of the first clubs I snuck into with a fake i.d. I believe it was down on Lafayette st. if I recall...great days!!!

  • @bigworld3001 Great Club, Great Decor. Great sound !

  • @jamo387 Hear,hear!!! Dancing on the tables!!

  • Fantastic live version !

    Thx !

  • YEA!! When I saw this on SNL, it changed my fan status! I've been a big fan since that night. Joe is one of the greats.

  • WOW, you have no idea how long I'd been looking for this. Thanks so much for uploading.

  • Thanks for uploading this, always wanted to see this live performance again.

  • That's uh, quite an outfit!!!

  • Got to see Joe on this tour (Chrysler Hall -Norfolk, Va). Still one of my top 5 concerts all time.
