For these feisty predators, There main food source no matter where you go will be small bait fish. Smaller crappie Love eating small insects off of algae though. So your best bet for crappie would usually be to mimic smaller fish. But that doesn't mean live worms won't work. :)
That would suck if the beaver ate your lure.

Do you have the hook exposed?? Because when I fish without a float I always get snagged on the bottom. what am I doing wrong???

For crappie fishing, is it better use jigs or or other swimbaits. And would worms be affective on catching crappie?

I never use Live bait when I'm releasing fish.
