@GearBuyersGuide i bought one in an army surplus store, and it was already automatic. But i guess it's because automatics are completely legal in Kentucky....
The worse thing about having a nice knife that's made in Taiwan is nothing to do with quality, it's the part where they have to write "MADE IN TAIWAN" somewhere on the blade. I don't like anything written on the blade. I have a nice Ka-Bar Bowie with this problem. I have the same problem with brand fashioned clothes.
I do :D so many different makers, so many materials, mechanisms, grinds, shapes, uses, smells ( really, that too. Get an old military knife and you'll see.) history and histories (both), funny things in general which you had no clue about, like that secret compartment on your grandfather's casual knife and so on.
You would have to buy an original Knife by Böker with tree symbol. Only these are still made in Germany. There is also Arbolito which are made in Buenos Aires and Magnum which are China made or wherever.
I've carried benchmades, kershaws, and spydercos and for the price this is a great knife the one i have I've carried for about 3yrs and the only prob i had was the spring finally broke about 2 weeks ago and it still worked and i can still use it. a replacement spring is only 4 dollars The other knives i have had have broke and fallen apart yes they are warranted but that does me no good if i need it now. For $40 bucks its a great knife. tough and reliable like an AK.
@GearBuyersGuide ehh pay no mind.. a word is a word... you only pronounce it wrong because you dont know the language. or how to speak it with the accent. so. it doesnt matter Kalashnikov wouldnt care either. lol
I put every box from knives I buy on the wall in my den, and I bought a spyderco caly 3 mostly because I wanted the box it came in. Great knife, but I traded it for something else I wanted and kept the box. To each their own.
lol, just cos its made in taiwan doesnt mean its a low quality knife, its only made in taiwan as it's cheaper to manufacture, if the quality control is good, then it doesn't matter where its made.
I agree. Sometimes I think my country gets a bad rep because of all the little nic-nacs and junk street vendors sell. We do however make very good quality products as well, just like any other country. So please don't automatically assume that anything made in Taiwan is a piece of garbage. Thnx...
the quality of items has much to do with the steal and the alloys, i dont dispute the quality of assembly but the natural resources of the mining do not lend themselves to quality. much of the metals are imported and are recycled in tiwan foundries therefore the quality of metal and alloys is diminished.
Should I get linerlock or automatic? I live in pa

Good looking knives. Too bad they are made in Taiwan...
I have a Gerber Air Ranger that is made in Taiwan and
while a good knife, it just doesn't seem to want to hold
an edge anymore.
Does the Boker have an blade wobble?

At first they are fine, but after a while of heavy use they do wobble
Good for a medium usse knife IMO

OK thanks for the feedback, I guess that's fair..
I am basing that on the junk I grew up with, and I should give an entire country a break from that assumption after 20 years have passed
the Taiwan made Boker I used for years held up just fine to whatever I used it for
