Nice unboxing - now that you've had it for awhile, I'm wondering what you think of it. I'm less than impressed with it - I've run Audyssey several times but the sound remains flat. Even my tweaking with the Dynamic and Manual EQ's didn't help - terrible non-graphic interface for the EQ! I've used Batpig and AVS Forum Is there any chance you could post a video showing how to configure this thing properly? Thanks.
I have this receiver too. It's excellent hardware for the price. There is a subtle difference between letting the receiver decode high resolution audio and letting the bluray player do it. It's analogous to letting your soundcard decode audio or letting your motherboard decode audio on a PC. The receiver is dedicated audio hardware, so it's best to let the receiver decode the audio. The signal path is also reduced. The difference is something only an audiophile could really appreciate.
I just got the same receiver on saturday. I have it connected to my Sony blue ray player and everytime i set up the true HD on the movie the The HD Audio light doesnt turn on on the receiver. Im not sure if the settings are not set up right on the receiver or if there is something wrong with the receiver?
@street0racer Whats the receiver showing when you are playing the blu-ray disc? If it shows MULTI CH IN that means your bluray player has already decoded the Dolby TrueHD or DTS Master Audio, you wont get a difference in sound. If you want HD light to light up, then you need to setup the bluray player to send the encoded data so the Denon can decode the audio.
Or, your disc doenst have a TrueHD / DTS MA track on it, check the packaging.
