Can u please please make a video explaining how to check your bags through airport security for carry on... Which items can be damaged from x-rays, etc... Thanks in advance
Jared, going from here in Jersey to Tampa on the 5th..I have a cyberpak backpack from Tamrac that I'm gonna be using as a carry-on for my canon t1i , some glass and laptop and all the usuals.Did you run into any hassles going through security with it your urban disguise ?
After watching this I decided to check the size of my lowepro trekker 400 aw. without the laptop sleeve and the top pouch the diameters are similar to this think tank. Looks like the bag I may be using for traveling.
@aleksandersandstrom Laptops always have to be taken out of bags, cameras/lenses do not. I never have to take out my camera and lenses, but laptop yes.
@movania89 In the US if you keep your laptop in a bag like Jared they will most likely force you to take it out, you can leave it in a sleeve, but a carry on back the laptop has to be pulled out.
@movania89 Security threat, I didn't make the rules… There is a lot of components in a laptop and they need a clear shot with the xrays to see if they are all in line and not a bomb I suppose. Some times they might even ask for you to turn it on to insure that it is a real computer, I have never had to do this though.

They don't give you trouble at security? i often wondered if you can bring all that and not have them give you trouble thru the gates
angelfacey 1 year ago
@angelfacey not at all because think tank designed the bags so the TSA can see everything in its own pouch.

Jared.... Not sure if you are aware of this, but the YTSA will allow a 3rd bag as carry-on for pro photographers.

last time I flew I brought the computer in a computer bag, then I had to pick out everything when I went through metal detectors.
Do you have to do so with camera equipment as well? for that must be very tough if you carry a lot of equipment on the plane ...

Cameras/lenses just have never been needed to.
