  • mwahahahahahaha the original is THE most frightening, now i have to HAVE this film, what is it's name?

  • @tironi333 Godzilla King of all monsters.

  • @tironi333 There's two versions of it through classic media DVD, one is the American version, titled "Godzilla: King of the Monsters!" with added footage with American actor Raymond Burr, and the other is titled "Gojira: The Original Japanese Masterpiece", which is the unedited Japanese version. I suggest getting the second one, but the first one is Ok too.

  • @GZilla9000 thanks

  • The original roar is the most freightening.

  • NOISE CANCELLING HEAD PHONES AND THIS VID!!!! FUCKKKKK YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • to think that a letter glove is making this noise rubbing against a bass.

  • How did they ever create the sound of him roaring?

  • @shadowman2192 they had an upright bass and a dude wearing a rubber glove would run his hand down the bass

  • @Xinathor Is that it? There had to be more to it than that

  • @shadowman2192 thats it unless they had certain notes their hitting

  • His old roars are scarey sounding lol

  • How does one describe how fucking awesome that sound is?

  • I should so combine the roars of Godzilla 1954 and the T-Rex from Jurassic park !

  • Still one of the best sound effects ever.

  • Fus Ro Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

  • Godzilla's Roar appears whe a japanese artist rubs a Rubber Glove on a Cello. True Story.

  • Still sends chills down my spine.

  • 0:17 if I ever heard that in real life, I'd need to change my pants.

  • its gojira

  • still the best

  • Godzilla's roar is an iconic sound effect that has been used in a lot of other media. The sound effect has appeared on The Simpsons, South Park, Pokemon, Chappelle's Show, Malcolm in the Middle, and in songs from Green Day and Sir Mix-A-Lot. Strangely, the American Godzilla movie wasn't able to secure the rights for the roar, and they had to record a different one.

  • i would LOVE to be able to roar like that!!!!

  • Thumbs up if you prefer this roarr for Godzilla rather than the high-pitched one that we know today.

  • @Guyverman01 gozillas' roars are actually all the the same as the ones from the first movie. they've just been repitched and extended or shortended.

  • These one's are so weird... Then again all of G's roars are weird, origanal though

  • i like the one at 0:16

  • I had nightmares about Godzilla as a kid living in Brooklyn. In the dream I'd be out in the neighborhood then hear that roar louder than thunder. In one dream all the windows in all the buildings around me shattered. Then I'd see him in the distance slowly coming in my direction. Seeing him get closer was horrifying. He was spraying fire on my neighborhood. Then I'd either run into the nearest house and get crushed when it fell, or got blasted with fire like a nuke. STILL in awe of him!

  • @mindstormsabrewin 'I had nightmares about Godzilla as a kid living in Brooklyn.'

I had nightmares about Stuka bombers. And Nazis. Just like Pink Floyd. And scary homosexual teachers.

    I'll trade you. Straight across.

  • All these were made with a Rubber Glove ran across a guitar.

    :D

  • The 0:08 roar is definetely the best...

  • @SSNorwaySS It´s definetely the scariest...

  • Who wants to see a roar stand off between Arnold in "Predator" and Godzilla?

  • I was gonna write crap then I acutally listened to it.now thats a fucking roar!

  • Wow :|

  • If I heard that outside my house, I'd crap my pants

  • Contrabass strings being stroked by a gloved hand covered in resin.

  • You missed a few roars.

  • My all time favorite Godzilla roar!!

  • best. godzilla. roar. ever.

  • SCARY!!!!!

  • This was the only movie when I actually thought Godzilla was somewhat frightening. In this movie he was a menace that came from the depths to punish mankind.

  • @AK107DX right? especially the way his roar echoes

  • @kirbybro4 Yeah. Don't you hate how people say that Cloverfield is cooler than Godzilla and that his roar is also cooler and more unique. Cloverfield's roar sounds like a guy trying to shit while he's constipated.

  • @AK107DX yea i hate that!and ikr? people need to get back to the classics.

  • @AK107DX He still does that in some of the godzilla movies.

  • Comment removed

  • more menacing than gamera, thats for sure.

  • @Themaniacnextdoor Gamera isn't menacing at all. He's basically a giant turtle version of barney. He is the friend of all children. Yeah, that's good for a giant monsters reputation (ahem, not ).

  • @AK107DX He's scarier sounding that Minya. Besides, all though hes a friend to all children, in the first film, he tears open buildings so he can roast people inside.

  • @Themaniacnextdoor i don't even now how minya's godzilla's son. they don't even look like they're the same species

  • @Themaniacnextdoor it's kinda cool how gamera feeds on fire.

  • @AK107DX definately. Yongary did the same thing, but i actually prefer him over Gamera, because the monster is so ridiculous.

  • Total epicness. His growl is unearthly. No animal on earth makes such a noice. It is man made, as is Godzilla. Ingenius!!

  • how did you get thoses roars?

  • the best

  • Gojira2012

I am looking for a ringtone. I think I just found it. How can I get these. Absolutely stellar.

  • Originals ROCK!!!

  • these old godzilla roars are the scariest roars ever made

  • you know how made the sound? It's a guy with a reson covered glove rubbing his hand on violin strings.

  • What would any of you do if you heard any of these roars in the midst of the night?

  • @LordSesshomaru028 Shit my pants.

  • @ukhistorian I think I might scream like a girl. No lie. LOL

  • Such an amazing roar for a monster.... Easily the best.

    #1. Godzilla

    #2. T-Rex ''Jurassic park''

  • The one at 0:21 made me piss myself

  • @EpicEverything LOL Goji's death roar at the end of the 1954 movie.

  • Godzella Aka Gojira kick's Ass.

  • omg thank you for uploading this im a huge godzilla fan and i love his roar its awsome thx again man

  • Holy crap! Listening to that at full maximized volume is the most terrifying thing I have ever heard in my entire life! 8O

  • @Shadowzilla014 Imagine putting that sound as a ringtone on a cellphone? lol

  • @popcur That would be pure epicness! LOL

  • godzillas roar is better then the mgm loin roars.

  • 0:17 most baddass sound ever

  • @Peenut2k7 for me its at 0:09, BUT HEY THAT'S JUST ME THOUGH

  • Do you think you could find the roar he does right after he destroys the electic towers? It's like a double-version of his regular roar.

  • It's somewhere between the sound of a ragged throat tearing itself apart and the sound of fishing boats scraping against each other. Just brilliant.

  • what if godzilla was real,i know he isnt but what if...

  • @SpaceGodzilla21

with the plant in japan and the radiation levels keep going up

then we me might a have a real life godzilla

  • @SpaceGodzilla21

with the plant in japan and the radiation levels keep going up

then we me might a have a real life godzilla

  • Ask me how his roar was created. I know how it was made. Ask me.

  • The first roar almost sounded like the 1984 Godzilla's roar.

  • In real life I would be like; "MOTHER F-----!"

  • cool sound, does anyone know how they made it?

  • @flowerdrop1 i heard (OMG Facts) that they ran a leather glove up and down on a double bass

  • This roar scared the shit out of me when I was little.

  • @Nockyout I bet it would've scared me when I was little too. But this isn't the Godzilla, I first saw when I was little. The 60's Godzilla is the first one, I saw when I was little. His face scared the crap out of me when I was little. Back when I was little, I hated Godzilla. But as I grew up, I learned more about Godzilla. Now, I love him. And the 60's Godzilla doesn't scare me anymore.

  • According to omg-facts,the first roar is created by rubbing a leather glove on a double bass' chords o.o

  • A glove and a violin make shivers down my spine.

  • cloverfield has nothing on godzilla

  • the orginal godzilla's roar is the scariest people argue over and over what color he is most people think he's a dark brown it would make sense afterall his godzillasaurus form is brown colored before he mutated into this thing too bad there is not much known on this one neither godzilla 2000 we do know his bones were put into kiryu and then he appearnetley saved the other godzilla from being blasted and crashed himself in the ocean

  • it's just that he didn't have the first roar when godzilla roars at the bird cage

  • @TheZim12 in the american version

  • still, i'm gonna get the japan version of godzilla, king of the monsters

  • I have the full godzilla pack whats the 1985 one called?

  • 00:21 is the scariest roar ever.

  • @MrJLM18 and one of the awesome ones

  • Godzilla 1954 roar=load in my pants

  • RIP Godzilla's good roar 1954 - 1991. (the first one heard here) Yeeeah you know what I'm talking about.

  • They need to use these roars and only these roars for the 2012 "re-imaging". These make Godzilla sound more like a menace, which is what he originally was

  • @NickHiryu I absolutely agree. When they brought the voice back in Godzilla '84... I was hoping this voice would've remained... but Toho had brought the 60s-70s voice back. Yes, we can only hope that the 2012 Godzilla will have the more menacing voice. Keep your fingers crossed.

  • EVERYONE!!! PLEASE DO NOT ACCUSE THE HERO OF SFX OF LYING TO YOU!!! IF YOU THINK THE FIRST ROAR WAS NOT WHAT YOU SEEM, THAN WHY DID YOU WATCH IT, CRACKHEADS!!!!! IF YOU WANT TO SPEND YOUR TIME SPAMING, THEN GO SPAM FRED'S VIDEOS!!!

  • Godzilla's 1954 roars are the most scariest of the series. The roar is not for a monster battle nor saving earth.....just destruction. Godzilla has the best monster roar: Godzilla King Of the Monsters....prehistoric terror!! LOL. Good vid man.

  • @DLMDLMddd And to think that it was Akira Ifukube who created Godzilla's roar, the pounding footsteps and the music without watching a single bit of footage when the 1st Godzilla was made. Ifukube is an absolute genius.

  • @ultragoji1 If only he was still alive to aid in the making of the Godzilla roar.....he made the roar by using the loose strings of a double bass and a resin covered gloove....those where the days.....things where simply Goji. (The days of my grandma lol)But seriously: Godzilla roars back then could spread fear into anyone by hearing the footsteps and hearing the roar without looking at the film man.

  • This is cool. REPLY NOW!!!!

  • God tier roar

  • The funny thing, is that even after...what, 40-some odd years, the roar hasn't really changed much. LIke, you can recognize the sound in this one as the sound from like the 1995 one.

  • It's amazing how that came from rubbing a resin coated glove over cello strings.

  • Godzilla, King of the Monsters, forever!

  • heee AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVVVVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYAIIIIN!

This is the last roar :)

  • Imagine hearing the first roar. (The SKEEEEEEEOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGG roar at the beginning.) That would make me die of shock!

  • I love Godzilla's deep roar, Sounds like a huge Tyrant. Which is exactly what Godzilla is. The Deeper the better

  • Might have been mentioned but I vaguely remember reading that Godzilla's roar was made by rubbing an object (rubber glove?) slowly across the strings of a bass (the instrument that looks like a giant violin). In the later movies, that same sound was speeded up and additional recordings made as well.

  • the second one is the best

  • Might I ask were did you get these roars from?

  • I wonder why that roar at 0:14 keeps getting in with the rest. It wasn't in the movie if I recall.

  • send me the last one please

  • When I first saw this movie I liked the roar at the end.

  • the last roar look like varans, gorosaurus and baragons roar.

  • The second to last one I I heard it in real life would scare the shit out of me.

  • @MasterSamurai me too!

  • actually they just combined a lot of different animal roars. they said that on the interview couple years ago.

  • You know. I mostly like Godzilla's roars from the millenium series.

  • 0:17 and beyond are the best ones. I think they should've kept that as his permanent roar. It just sounds scarier for some reason.

  • Honestly, Godzillas roars are the scariest, most diabolical sounds ever created.

  • @StockdaleMB well said!

  • My favorites the one at 0:17 .

  • how do they make these noises??? do they record some distressed animal and lower the pitch so it sounds more unearthly?

  • They rubbed a gloved hand over the strings of a bass guitar and then played it backwards.

  • The original sound for his roar actually came from the gate to the studio's parking lot. It had a horrible creak since it was a long cast iron gate. When pushed slowly, it would make godzilla's iconic roar.

  • they used a rubber glove on a stringed instrument like a violin

  • my facorite would have to be from 0:09 to 0:12

  • 0:17-0:21 is my favorite war hands down

  • Imagine if you heard that roar in real life, I would shit myself.

  • I wouldn't do just that, I would also have a Heart Attack if I heard this Roar!!

  • @captainmario42 I already did.

  • @captainmario42 same here

  • @captainmario42 I almost soiled mahself listening to it here. Let alone real life.

  • The roar at 0:17-0:21 is my favorite one! Its epic!

  • In this movie and Godzilla raids again he got more heavy roar

  • that first one was wrong.

  • No It is Not!!!!! I watched the original Japanese version and it had this roar when he is roaring at the bird cage, Watch it yourself and i will have proven you wrong.

  • what was he roaring at a bird cage for?

  • IDK

  • @Gojira2012 Can you give me the roars? I'm making Godzilla game! I put in G-54 as a character!

  • @Gojira2012 Hey, I always wondered, what CD did you get the SFX that where not in the Howl CD? Except for the footsteps, I already have that on "The best of Godzilla"

  • @TheTristen dinosaurs and birds are related so either that or he`s hungary

  • @TheTristen Maybe he dislikes birds?

  • @TheTristen BECAUSE BIRDS FUCKING SUCK!!!

  • @starwarsfanboy3 if i were u i would censor that

  • @TheTristen In Godzilla returns that scientist made a suggestion that he has a thing with birds... I guess throwing the idea that Dinosaurs and birds are alike...

  • @cfh87cfp I'm confused cause people keep replying to me!

  • @TheTristen they annoyed him lol

  • @TheTristen because dinos and birds are connected mabye he`s saying hi to his cousins or just wants to eat them

  • @Gojira2012 I just watched the movie yesterday.

  • Comment removed

  • Its in the fucking japanese version! Not that Raymond Burr american recut.

  • @Gojira2012 your right, i was watching the american version of this and he has that roar at the beginning of this vid. he uses it when he's destroying the defence line of 300 volts of electricity

  • @TheZim12 3000

  • @Gojira2012 Actualy it is not I own the Origanal I have the pack that comes with the Japenese version and the american. Seen both and the bird cage is a totally different roar. That roar is from godzilla returns.

  • @bbmanmegyer It is in the japanese version, you just have to listen closely. Its when he roars at the bird cage and when Godzilla was trying to pass the electrical towers that blocked Tokyo. Its hard to hear because of the birds cherping and the Tank SFX. Whether you like it or not, It isTRUE.

  • @Gojira2012 i'm sorry about saying that the first roar wasn't in the movie.

  • @Gojira2012 You are absolutely right about the roar. The other guys just dont know what there talking about. Thanks for the vid.
