  • Bought one of these as my first kit and I regret the shit out of it

  • Cant I get a god damn decent drum set for 300$??

  • does this come with a throne?

  • @dylanplaysdrumsalot. So put g2 on top and g1 on bottom

  • this kit fucking sucks even you are a beginner dont get it its not worth the money at all and this kid doesnt know shit about drumming and what the fuck is with the gay fag music at the beginning

  • @bellythekid1234

    What?

  • @bellythekid1234 Buddy, you need to get the fuck off of this site. Simple as that. I've never heard a more uneducated person than yourself.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX Ignore him, he's from russia or ukraine or some other poor and smelly east european country.

  • @00ThePolice00 Oh woops that was the wrong person XD

  • @bellythekid1234 1. grow up, 2. yeah this music is pretty gay. 3. sound percussion is alright but its kinda trashy

  • @bellythekid1234 you're a gay fag, you mad? you are probably some fucking 11 year old derp aha

  • @00ThePolice00 you try to say something to me faggot. you dont know shit about drumming this kit sucks i had for two months and in that time period it was the worst kit ive ever drummed. Your probably just defending this kit and kid because you have the same kit and cant afford anything else poor little bitch. oh and fuck Australia, unimportant homo country and everybody in it has the most fucked up accents loser.

  • @bellythekid1234 you mad amerifag? coming from a country with a shitty adult literacy rate. I bet you don't even know what a flamacue is dumbcunt.

  • @bellythekid1234 Oh wait sorry, you're not from America. You're from a shitty and smelly east european shithole; probably poland or russia and you call Australia bad. Gaycunt

  • @00ThePolice00 Umad bro?

  • @bellythekid1234 No, this kit actually doesn't suck. What sucks is your level of comprehension as well as your tuning abilities. Don't try to fucking tell me that I'm just defending this kit because I'm a poor faggot that can't afford anything better, as I don't use this kit. Regardless, it's a great starter kit. Did mommy buy you an expensive DW to make you feel better about your shitty drumming?

  • @bellythekid1234 Oh wait, lemme guess, now that you're pissed off at me are you gonna scrounge my channel trying to find something to insult me about? Gonna try and say "faggot your covers are fucking shit"? Don't even try buddy.

  • Eww... bad heads and Cymbals... I recommend Evans G2's for batter on toms and G1's for ressy.

  • this kid in my neiborhood has these drums. and he sucks. but they sound like shit i keep telling him to change the cymbals to name brands but hes stubborn and wont listen but any way its a nice set just change the heads

  • i have this kit and in order to make it decent you have to change the batter heads and the resonant heads and it should sound ok. As for the snare..... throw it away and get a new one

  • @MafiaDeathwish

Not entirely true. You can actually make the stock heads sound decent (especially if you're a beginner... they'll work fine for you). I still have yet to change the reso heads and they still work fine for me. The snare is also just fine for the beginner range. It doesn't show in any of my videos, but slap a new Weatherking or G2 on there and your snare will sound just fine.

  • Anybody going for a Bonham sound: I have played on Bonhams Green SParkle and vistalite kit. His ACTUAl kit (The ones seen in Jeff Ocheltree's videos). Alot of people want to know how Bonham setup his kits: For the heads, Coded Emperors on Batterside. Ambassadors on the Resonant side. NO RINGS PERIOD. Snare was a Supraphonic. There was NO muffling on John Bonhams kit, except for alonely Felt strip on the Reso side of his Bass Drums. It is a loud kit, and can be an intimidating setup. Have fun.

  • @JustinPierce1226

    The Ocheltree video is awesome!

  • @JustinPierce1226 i know the guy who owns that kit :)

the green sparkle kit had two felt strips i belive, and the orange sparkle had 1 :)

  • i have sound percussion what are your heads

  • @MsAnimedrummer Evans G2 Coated on the toms, the stock bass, and Remo Weatherking Ambassador on the snare. Stock resonants.

  • @MsAnimedrummer oh what inspirational lyrics.... what pure shite..... an insult to music

  • but not the evans i have the remo

  • and same skins!!

  • thats the same drums i got in the same color

  • could you do a video on how you put your high hat together? because my brother has the same kit and we dont know how to put it together

  • @guitarmessiah95

You'd need to make sure he has the same high-hats, not the same kit, before I would make such a video.

  • @RonnieBrewerFan It is

  • @RonnieBrewerFan You put ALL hi hats, stands & cymbals together the same way

  • hi man, i really like your ride and you didn t mention what it was in the description,

could you please give me the references thx

  • @yeahmansoul

Ahh, I forgot to mention it. It's a curious case... I had never heard of the brand before. It's called "Izmir" and yes, I like it as well.

  • Is there any way that you could show what the stock heads/cymbals that came with the kit sound like?

  • @Gurut2009 Thanks for the good grammar :D

I could sure try, I've got to retune my set anyway, and I'll probably be taking the current heads off and putting them back on. While they're off, I can put the stocks back on and do a recording. I'm just not sure that I can provide the quality you really need to review the set with my video camera. I'll see how it comes. I can't show you how the stock cymbals sound since those cymbals were all collected on my own.

  • Thanks! That'd be greatly appreciated. And, about the good grammar, no problem. [haha]

  • @Gurut2009 I'll give you my opinion on the heads. The snare, to be honest, is a piece of crap. It started to chip within a few days, and it seemed to have a generic, buzzy sound.

I LOVED the stock tom heads though. I actually sort of regret changing them... weird. They may not have as much endurance... I'm not sure, but I really liked them out of the box. Great sounding heads.

Didn't have a problem with the bass, it's fine for me. Stuck a pillow in there and now I'm set.

  • Awesome. I'm planning on getting my first (acoustic) kit and I'm deciding between this and the PDP Z5. You're kind of selling this one for me right now [haha]. But yeah, I can replace the head after, at the maximum, a month. It's very good to hear that, for the most part, the stock equipment is good though. I can't wait to hear a sound demo!

  • @Gurut2009 Well, I would make sure and review both and ask some drum experts. PDP is a much mroe recognized brand, since I think Sound Percussion sets are made straight by Guitar Center. Anyway, PDP has a bit more of a respected name, so it may be wise to go with them. I'm a Pearl guy as well, and I play on a 6 piece at church... a Pearl Export. I love it, but even after playing it, I still find my lil Sound Percussion a very good practice/small gig kit.

  • @Gurut2009 Forgot to add, you'll also probably want to change the bass pedal at some point. Doesn't give enough punch if you ask me.

  • I already have a bass pedal. It's decent and stuff. I don't know if this could help at all, but I play metal. You know, black metal (mainly) along with thrash and death metal. Would either set be better for playing those types of music?

  • @Gurut2009 Hmm. I'm not sure. I don't play any metal so I couldn't tell you how the kit holds up or sounds for that sort of music. Like I said, this is a great entry level kit, but PDP is a more respected brand, so they may be a safer choice for death metal. Not really sure.

  • Okay, thanks!

  • @RonnieBrewerFan I find it interesting that on recording cheap cymbals done sound any different and sometimes better than expensive ones. From a sound standpoint I don't see a need to ever really get cymbals more expensive than Sabian B8s I've played gigs where I went between a Paiste 2002 ride and a Sabian B8 ride and the Sabian blew it away! No debate! The B8 cost me like $30 used and they go for what like $100 or less used and the 2002 is like $400 or so new! always buy with your own ears.

  • @painemporium

Hmmm... longevity is the key to good cymbals.

  • Ronnie Brewer? Who's a fan of Ronnie Brewer? What has he significantly tributed to any team?

  • I'm a fan of Brewer. He contributed good playing time to the Utah Jazz and will continue to do so at Memphis given the chance.

  • nvm I missread it

  • @bonisboy Cymbal dude. Not SYMBAL. Just pointing it out. Not trying to argue.

  • Comment removed

  • The hi-hat is the cymbal numb nuts not the drum set. Quality is changed easily.

  • i love sp thinking about gettin new heads but love the set cant stop playin it

  • sound percussion is good for a starter drummer, but i honestly dont like sp,i hate it,everyone should get tama, its all about tama

  • agreed

  • It's based on the drummers preference not your preference, if people like SP then the like SP, if they like Tama then they like Tama, its all about player tastes and everyone is different.

  • hey i did not ask you, either you agree with me or not, dont complain,

and i also said, "i honestly dont like sp"

    read it closely

  • "everyone should get tama, its all about tama " Dumbass...

  • what do you mean?

  • tama foot pedals fucking suck

  • I agree.

  • Also I was responding to you're different comment that did NOT say "I honestly dont like sp" the one that is higher up than that and not the one that was like 5 clicks down the list. reading that many comments is just pointless and retarted...I just checked now to see what you were talking about..

  • Well, I encountered a slight problem. I tried recording a new video tonight with my upgraded video-camera, but the sound quality is still pretty bad. I'll need mics, and I don't see myself wasting the money on them since I'll be off to college soon and won't even get to play them for a few years.

  • I captured this video with a Sony GC1 when I knew nothing about tuning. I have since tuned my set and got a Canon DC410. Will upload a new vid soon.

  • Hey I recommend maybe getting some external mufflers for you're toms...it will deaden the ringing alot, making it sound alot more attractive.

  • @GHnRBDrummer he's got remo rings...he needs a better set of heads...

  • @drumlord420 dude his heads are fine. alot of drummers use remo rings because the unwanted tone is from the DRUMS not the heads. i used evans hydraulics and theyre made to dampen. and my friend uses remo pinstripe which are MADE to dampen and we both use e rings(same as remo rings) to dampen because they need it.. any smart drummer buys them along with good heads and drums.

  • @canadahockeyteen smart drummers don't waste money on rings...trust me. the heads are what make the drums ring, 90% of the time.

  • @drumlord420 exactly 90% any good drummer would spend the extra 10 bucks to get that extra 10 percent of great sound

  • @drumlord420

Rings are necessary in a lot of different circumstances. Smart drummers don't make definitive statements about how certain accessories should be used, but rather adapt to every situation. ;)

  • @RonnieBrewerFan Different circumstances? You mean like playing live, practicing, or recording? I've done it all, and I NEVER use rings. Good heads eliminate the need for a goddamn muffling. I suppose a "good" drummer puts a pillow in his bass also. Well, aquarian superkick II heads eliminate that as well. Do yourself a favor and stop wasting my time and yours and get with the fucking program douchebag!

  • @drumlord420

Do me a favor. Look up the word, "overtones." Also, I usually don't reply to such pathetic and profane idiots so consider yourself very special. :D

  • @drumlord420 Oh snap, drum lord!

    RonnieBrewerFan has got you there.

  • @RonnieBrewerFan dude...you need to get yourself some aquarian heads so that you can have somewhat of a decent sound. honestly, you couldn't have picked a worse set...sorry to be so blunt, but that's the truth...

  • @drumlord420 The kit sounds fine for me. It does sound horrible on camera, as most drum sets do when recording sound straight to a video camera. I haven't experienced Aquarian heads yet, but I know the bass drum and snare heads get really good reviews, so I hope to try them one day.

I'm cheap and LOVE this drum set and so do others. It's personal preference for us who aren't professionals. Sorry to be so blunt, but that's the truth :D

  • I have one like that.

  • The drum set? If so, post some videos!

  • so the cymbals that come with it sound good?

  • Those cymbals are my own. Cymbals don't come with it. I think a cheap set of Agazarians or however you spell it come if you buy some sort of package deal, but you'll most likely want to avoid those plastic things.

  • I have agazarian and they arent as good as zildjian but I like them.

  • That's good. I hope they last you a while.

  • wheres the cheapest place to get these

  • eBay?

I would just recommend Guitar Center.

  • hey thanks so much for responding ! Im looking forward to buying it!

  • No problem hope you enjoy it. Post up some vids once you get it.

  • Hey thanks for the vid. I have been thinking about getting this drum set and i just wanted to ask you what you think about the set. Do you recomend it? By the way did yours come with cymbals and their stands?

  • I recommend it. It came with the high hat stand and one cymbal stand. You'll have to buy the cymbals themselves on your own.

  • i was bout to buy this drum kit today but i aint like the cymbals it came wit so i bought the pearl soundcheck drum set with zildjan cymbals

  • Sounds good to me.

  • did it sound good? i might get the pearl sc with Zildjian Cymbals..

  • seriously...

if you're going to label a video SOUND PERCUSSION 5 PIECE drumkit that uses little no pieces of the actual drumkit then title it something else

unless the kit includes evans and zildjan

  • I labeled it Sound Percussion 5 Piece Drum Kit Tour (Sound Examples), because it is a tour of a Sound Percussion 5 Piece Drum Kit with sound examples.

  • @RonnieBrewerFan how come the drum heads are evans

sorry im a total noob at drums but i dont get why the shell of the drum is labeled SP and the actual drums aren't SP (besides the bass drum?)

  • You'll see that all the time. The drum brand may be Pearl, but the heads can be Remo, Evans, blah blah blah. The type of head usually supplied with the drums is typically the drum company's own head, but they are later replaced with a superior head.

  • @RonnieBrewerFan well then i still find this video misleading because it isn't the actual retail unit

    o.o

  • LoL, it certainly is the retail unit. Just has different heads.

  • @RonnieBrewerFan doesn't DIFFERENT heads make it not the SAME

  • It makes the heads different. Not the drums.

  • @RonnieBrewerFan doesnt that change the sound of the drums overall

  • Yea, so would tuning the original heads :D

  • hay I have that exact same drum set at my house and I also got it from Guitar Center!

  • Sweet! Post up some vids!

  • what country are you in?

  • The USA

  • Floor tom is too high

  • Im not a beginner and i want a better set. Any advices?

  • My advice would be the Pearl Forum or something along those lines.

  • Im planning on buying the 8 piece version. does it have good sound quality to you? im just asking because i dont want to choose it over the 7 piece Ddrum set i was also looking at, on accident and be unhappy with it.

  • I'm perfectly contempt with the sound. I haven't had enough experience with DDrums to give you good advice in your decision, but what I can tell you is that with a small bit of tuning and possibly replacing the heads... these drums sing well for being a beginner level set.

I need to post a new video from my new video camera which should offer better sound quality, I'll try to get that done sometime and hopefully help you guys out.

  • could you tell me what you find out about the 8 piece? I'm looking into that one also

  • yeah no problem. gotta get to gc first though

  • gc?

  • actually i think im giving up on the 8 piece. i fount a 7 piece pdp that i want. its like $900. im too worryed the quality wont be good enough.

  • I think he means Guitar Center

  • you should totally get DDrum. I have a ddrum low line set and it sounds great!! i would choose a ddrum diablo over a pearl export that's for sure.

  • i got a question. are meinyl (or however its spelled) aa cymbals good for metal and hard rock?

  • The high hat I have is good for a lot of things, they're certainly nothing pro. So yea, they should work for metal and hard rock.

  • 10 bucks he probablly doesnt use his cowbell.

  • Got PayPal? :)

  • i ALSO HAVE PINSTRIPE \,,/ \,,/

  • Sweet!

  • Evans heads SUX. Try REMO \,,/ \,,/

  • I like Remo too, especially Pinstripes. I got these for a good deal though, and I enjoy them.

  • i going to get a 8 piece sound percussion drumset for 500 dollers

  • Just googled it. Looks very nice, I have no need for 2 bass drums, but it looks sweet for all the monster drummers out there.

  • haha just bought the same one 2 weeks ago and i love it!

  • This drum set actually sounds pretty good.

The tom heads are really good for being factory heads. The snare wires suck, the snare reso. sucks., and the snare batter absolutely sucks. Only 3 days of playing on the snare and the batter is already chipping. But hey, its not bad for $300. :D

  • My thoughts exactly. The snare wires I forgot to mention... they aren't great. I have my snare sounding excellent... simply replaced the batter head with a Remo Ambassador. The tom heads rock for factory condition, and if you're a dirt cheap drummer like me, they are absolutely fine to leave on. I was lucky enough to get Evans Genera G2 coated so that's why I have them.

  • i have same kit in black. except i replaced the snare

so instead of sound percussion snare i have a pork pie lil sqealer 7 by 13

it kicks ass! only issue is my bass drum warped soon

  • Sounds nice. Sorry about the bass drum, mine is still perfect, had to buy a new pedal though.

  • Rings are best to have they, and they can go on the bottom or top depends on the drum and the head.

  • I've never seen anyone put them on the bottom, do you do that?

  • rings go under the heads not on top, at least the ones i have do

  • The only type of rings i've seen under heads are the ones with foam for complete deadening (great for practice, yuck for anything else).

  • Tune your toms!

  • Nah, gotta tune the microphone on my camera.

  • he ro please, we are a chinse people

  • I'm sorry?

  • lol

  • The sound examples here are horrible. I have a new video camera that records the audio in better quality, so i'll be uploading new sound examples soon.

  • Ugg I hate when people put RemOs on a snare...

  • Me too. Idiots!

  • why?

  • Because there ttyl killing thier snare instead of using the extreme why not use tape or moon gel?

  • tape just looks tacky and moongel just makes the drum head sticky, i myself are gonna invest in a set of these, or e rings, because i like the deep tone and attack you get when you use these, and i dont need to waste time tuning them for hours

  • I always thought e-rings on a snare looks tacky I'll stick with tape or moon gel

  • An even better solution that i've found is to only use say a fourth of the O ring, or maybe an eighth if you're an overtone fan.

  • im replacing my snare with a pearl concert snare

  • Good for you man, hope it sounds good for ya...

  • is the set overall good im debating over this or a medini drumset in metallic whine red or metallic blue

  • Yes the set is very good, i'm very pleased with it.

  • not really

  • K.

Haha, now don't you feel stupid, you wasted your time.

  • U SUCK

  • K.

Haha, now don't you feel stupid, you wasted your time.

  • dude u replaced the heads and symbols

  • Yes I did.

  • dude i really need your help im thinking about geting this set this wood be my 1st drum set does it come with hi hat and the other cymbal like in the pic on the guitar center or do i have to buy all of them i mean just thos 2 not the ones you have help me out dude

  • I got this drum set and it was supposed to come with the hi hat and ride cymbal, but they ran out or something. they gave me zildjan cymbals for the high hat and I did not get a ride cymbal, but i got the stand.
