Avionics, powerplant and weapons' systems may offset any limitation, but ultimately Chinese tech is reliant on American tech, and Chinese technology is always two steps behind.
If I were Iran, I'd give serious consideration to the F-20, which, last I checked, is cheaper, lighter, and more effective than anything from China.

Bearings wear out, turbofan blades need replacing, as do some of the electronics and other working parts. Most of the Tomcats were probably canibalized a long time ago to keep the other's flying.
The F-14 air frame is very capable, but the A model (Iran's model) is old and outdated.

Iran has also been using f-14s to guard their atomic uranium facilities. They have also used their f-14s to shoot down some american drones that have flown on their boreder or even into the country.

F16 was built in the 70's, Fighter jets haven't been developing as fast as they use to before. Most the technology is reverse engineered, and not "copied". IRIAF is purchasing the state-of-the-art 4.5-generation JF-17 and J-10.
JF-17 is comparable to F-16 Block 52 while J-10 is comparable to Rafale.

I hate to break it to you, but just looking at the air frame I can tell you right off that the China-1 Fighter is no match for the Falcon. Avionics, powerplant and weapons' systems may offset any limitation, but ultimately Chinese tech is reliant on American tech, and Chinese technology is always two steps behind.
If I were Iran, I'd give serious consideration to the F-20, which, last I checked, is cheaper, lighter, and more effective than anything from China.

I think Iranian pilot like F-14A Persian Cat than Mig-29SMT Fulcrum. After all F-14A Persian Cat shot down over 100 of Iraqi fighter aircraft during Iraq Iran War! Since 25 F-14 are operational which mean only the #1 group of best pilots could fly F-14 Tomcat only! Those who are on Second group of best pilots fly the Mig-29SMT Fulcrum!

Latest reports are that no more than 20 of Iran's F-14s are flyable. That number is more like 7 at any one time, from the original 80.
Bearings wear out, turbofan blades need replacing, as do some of the electronics and other working parts. Most of the Tomcats were probably canibalized a long time ago to keep the other's flying.
The F-14 air frame is very capable, but the A model (Iran's model) is old and outdated.

The article went into detail of exactly how many and types of jets Iran has operational.The artical did mention that many people thought that the f-14s were not operational, but they have been fixed up and also rigged with russian altilary. I expect an apology, otherwise you are pure ignorant and foolish.

Iran has also been using f-14s to guard their atomic uranium facilities. They have also used their f-14s to shoot down some american drones that have flown on their boreder or even into the country.

I know two of them: 1.they build some parts of aircraft now. 2. they get them from illegal ways, like getting them from countries that had F-14 before and they are out of military now. F16 was built in the 70's, Fighter jets haven't been developing as fast as they use to before. Most the technology is reverse engineered, and not "copied". But there is a problem in the Iranian armed forces, in that why have 2 sets of armed forces doing pretty much the same thing. back in the early days of the revolution this was a must as the regular army wasnt trusted, but now its different.
