@transithanschr The unit has to be modified to get it to work across medium wave and long wave. Six components have to be removed (or gently crushed on the circuit board with fine nosed pliers) they are L5, L6, R27, L3, L4, R26 and are marked on the board. Takes five minutes to do.
That is a fine radio. I have one of those MFJs but haven't put it to good use yet.

Notice you test it on 1520. The specs says it operates from 1.5 to 30 MHz. Does that mean in practice it has no effect below 1500 kHz?
