No doubt that TKR surgery is significantly painful. The key is to try to manage it the best you can with meds, ice, etc. At the same time the patient has to still make an effort to participate in all the therapy required so not to get in trouble particularly with stiffness. Patients pain response is so different from patient to patient. The good news is that it will eventually get better in 2-6 weeks. Hang in there it will be worth it !

My question is, she had alotta pain once the epiderl wore off. Shes had other surgeries. This one was her worst. Is this common?
