  • Hey Steve, what is the maximum number of electrons in an atom that can be found in second energy level (principal quantum number 2)? How does the electron configuration of oxygen look like? Who drank all the booze from Mira's personal cabinet? How can Sauron lose against a bunch of little hobbits? Why is Samuel L. Jackson in every other damn movie out there. Russians say that vodka is good for muscle building... and weight loss... and weight gain... and preworkout... and brushing teeth...

  • And according to many professionals they should not work out for as long because their bodies will

  • I seriously question this vid Steve. Ectomorphs have trouble gaining mass not because they don't eat a lot but because their metabolism is so fast.

  • hi im 5 11 weigh 160 -170 pounds which is healthy i dont want to loose weight i just want to look good especially my abs what workouts should i do mainly a athletic routine

  • @TheDavid1690 Well, if you do Ab workout and you feel actual 6 pack under the skin, then probably you need to lose a bit more for it to start showing. the only way for developed abs to show is to lose fat, no way around it, oh and one more thing, dont ever listen to people who advertise how to lose stomach fat only, no such thing as spot reduction when it comes to fat.

  • I'm a 19 year old guy, average height about 5'10''. I have a big head, broad shoulders and chest and I'm not skinny, but still not that very muscular neither (It seems I'm burning fat just as easy as I gain muscles.) I got redicously short, VERY muscular legs but very thin wrists and not so muscular arms.. This makes the overall look very unproportional.. I don't do leg workouts though, I want skinnier legs to compensate for my upper body. If I just could grow a liiittle bit taller.. damn :/

  • The commenters who think P90X gives better advice than you receive from this gentleman are woefully deluded or ignorant.

  • @danhantheman That's so inaccurate.

  • @BodyPerformanceTV

Haha basically from watching your videos that your knowledgeable...in the sense that you only know as much as the next fitness guy. Using a one-size fits all fitness model will never get the entire population very far. very basic example: the alaskan inuit are some of the healthiest ppl in the world (at the very least not fat and diabetic) and all they eat is whale and fish meat 365days/yr. Metabolic Typing is the answer. don't call me inaccurate pal

  • The average inuit life span is 14 years LESS than Canadian or American people.

    You are inaccurate, retard.

  • Is it true that the taller u are the heavier u get?

  • I am naturally lean and muscular and I feel people like me can do more bodyweight training than others its that true? my body type is more adapt to this type of training. why?

  • Quote from "BodyPerformanceTV" (uploader) Believed it or not lifting is much more important that eating because lifting builds muscles, eating doesn't. Just lift intensely and regularly and your apetite will increase naturally. You might want to cut back on your running since that will burn up additional calories.

I disagree eating is just as important as weight lifting

because if you dont eat enough you will not get bigger muscle

  • what do you think about working out at home before going to the gym. say like doing some push ups and some resistant bands. If after you just feel a pump, you just feel swollen up a bit and you don't feel sore or tired after or by the time you get to the gym. So what do you think

And this is for someone trying to gain size and strength

  • if you are trying to gain strength and size I would say no, at least not too much as it may drain you. do a couple as a warm up exercise, either just before you go to the gym or when you first get there, just so you aren't working out with "cold" muscles, but you'll want to save as much energy as you can so you can lift as heavy as you can. if you want size and strength, you got to lift heavy, and for that you need your energy

  • And he said it was a more targeted program. So a pear shaped would work out differently then another shape. He was also the trainer for EXTREME makeover.Funny today i was in the gym telling guys i stoped protein shakes and i swear you could hear a pin drop LOL. im telling everyone about this site everywhere i go .

  • Great video steve, this is information that NEEDS to be said. I remember seeing a infomercial years ago from sadly yes a former MR UNIVERSE bodybuilder (you would think he knew better, im sure he did but wanted to make money) He targeted women where he has a flip book of a body, and you flip the body parts you wanna fix, and depending on your body type you selected excersises.

  • Any thing women need to know to get buff?

  • yah dont do it

  • don't do it, it's ugly as hell

  • krystalkayk - I'm not a credentialed trainer, but the literature I've reviewed shows that the same principles regarding muscle growth apply to both genders. Most women will not have the potential to build as much muscle as men (provided you wisely avoid steroids), but still can develop firm, shapely muscles. I'd suggest starting out with a conventional weight training routine for awhile (three sets each of 8 - 12 exercises), and then gravitating to High Intensity Training if you're up for it.

  • you avent even answered any of my written questions how are you able t answer everyone in thenew site?

  • i have a good advice for you .

change your speakers and your computer display .

  • hi steve ur vids are great! but I have 1 question...should I be sore After weight training? (i´ve been weight training for a month or so..)

  • yes.. but just let your muscles rest long enough and dont forget to eat and sleep.

  • Why does he look like if he has cancer?

  • Wow this was tough to understand. You''re really smart.

  • Indigo, your problem can be solved. But it can't get solved with just one word or one paragraph answers. I know what's going on here, and you can turn the boat around and get lean and solid in 6 to 10 weeks or so. I REALLY suggest that you try Steve's site for a month, maybe two. You'll learn a ton and you'll see excatly what you're doing wrong and what you're doing right. With his good guidance you'll be on your way. Make an investment in yourself and take control by leaning the big picture.

  • I have problems removing my stomach fat, I can grab a whole fist of fat there, and If I try to loose it by eating less calories than I use, I loose fat, but I also seem to loose every muscle in my body, becoming real skinny and total opposite of what I want, I loose the energy I need to work out.

  • Yes it will help. However if u are trying to get big, try loading your body with protien(P drinks, chicken, can tune etc.) and work out with heavier weights. But within reason of your capabilities. Dont go to heavy and hurt yourself. Do sets of 12-10-8-6 and maybe a last set of 20 with lighter weight.

  • yes

  • Yes, pushups are a great composition movement and will build mass, but the rest of the body such as the legs and back should not be neglected.

Along with good nutrition and plenty of rest.

  • you sorta look like steve carrell

  • i agree

  • i like how he doesn't say goodbye. he just says, "love your body." and then the smirk. it's off-putting at first, but you get used to it over time.

  • I'm a Certified Personal Trainer w/25 years of experience in strength & weight training at elite levels. Also have a background in biology & chemistry. I also have vast knowledge through additional studies offered by experts in the field like Covert Bailey (degrees from Harvard and MIT) or James Levine M.D., a doctor & weight loss scientist at the Mayo Clinic. This knowledge coupled w/ years of experience prove to be quite an accurate & effective combination.

  • can you please tell me if their any harmone in brain that orders the body to loose weigh. If thats not balance, you just cannot loose weight?

  • @BodyPerformanceTV so? I can spend 200 bucks, take a test and become a trainer too...or I can just do p90x and get better adivce then you can give, and get better results any day of the week.

  • thats impossible

  • WELL said!

  • Why do people talk about these different body types as if they're innate, unchangable qualities?

If my friend is fat, he's one body type, then if he loses weight and becomes skinny, then he's suddenly a different body type?

Why call him an endomorph or ectomorph or mesomorphin power ranger? Why not just call him fat?

  • Nicely SAID~!

    HAHAHA~!

  • lol that's incredible. I don't think people understand body types. They seem to think that their body type is a stumbling block. The only stumbling block is their own perseverance.

  • Body types, especially those three extremes, are used to label different characteristics of ppl. If your friend was once fat, and he becomes skinny he doesn't change his body type. An ectomorph retains very little body fat, independant of thier diet, and a endomorph is very biased when it comes to storing calories as fat. If ur friend was once fat, and turns skinny, i bet if he goes on an all icecream diet he will get fat again, hence he is, and always will be a degree of meso/endomorph.

  • Just need a quick tip. im an ectomorph (sucks to be me) I want to eat healthy but keep my fat intake can you advise any sites that can give me a good diet plan specifically for ectomorphs. thanks

  • Comment removed

  • I have a question.. I'm 16 and have been working out for quite some time now and havnt seen the results i want. I do my max and try and push it harder each time & never forget my protein shakes throughout the day, is there somethng im doing wrong ? or somthing im not doing?

  • Change up your routine

  • change up your routine, and eat lots more carbs. protien in your body is pretty much useless unless there is energy in your body to synthesis it into muscle :)

  • thanks for the advice!

  • no worries :)

  • Lol why would he lie the information is free :P He's not benefiting financially so its not a scam as most of diet and fitness suppliements are

  • You must not sell much!

  • you're unbelievably dillusional, lol. first off, hes not tryin to sell anything, in fact hes going out of his to give free advice and help. and secondly if ur voice didnt change pitch you would have whats known as a monotonous and thus boring voice. :)

  • Like your name says, you must be eating boogers for dinner =)

  • Im 14 I have Been working out everyday, Im am the strongest grade nine in the weight room, I do a different section everyday,From all of my training i have been getting really really sore, What can help this, it is interfearing in my rugby.

  • Being sore means your muscles are growing! You could workout easier but as you continue to lift your soreness will become less as your muscles get used to the work. Stretching and a hot bath will help ease the soreness.

  • Everybody is different so it's hard question to answer. But if you can eventually bench press 11/2 times your body weight you are doing very well. Keep training hard!!! ~ Steve

  • hi iam 16 years old and iam 5'7 and weigh about 127 pounds and i bench my last set at 120pounds i was just wondering how many reps should i do in that specific weight.

    thank you

  • Yes, you need to continue to workout to maintain your muscular gains. And working out at 16 is fine as long as you're careful.

  • ive been training for about 9 months now with weights. im a 16 yr old boy who, before i started training was 10 st and 5'9- skinny. now ive gained over two stone in weight and my bench press has increased 30 kg. ive recently stopped working out due to lack of time. do i still need to work out to maintain my muscle, and is 16 too young to be training with serious weights?? thank you.

  • Do the mesomorph/ectomorph/endomorph theories also apply for women?

  • Regarless of their body type training, weight loss and muscle building principles are the same for meso, ecto, and endomorphs and men or women.

  • hmm nice im not sure what i amxD

  • speaking about the bodytypes, is there eny conections to where you live like in asia or in europe? relatives and so on?

  • Well certain nationalities do have certain body types. But they would still have to use the same principles to lose weight or gain muscle. Humans still function pretty much the same regardless of where they come from.

  • Thank you! I'm glad I can help.

  • Hey steve, I just wanna comment and say that whenever I need motivation or advice I always watch your videos.

Its clean, honest advice that doesnt try to get me to buy a product.

Thanks Steve, keep up the good work!

  • Thanks!!!

  • iv been training for 7 years now whenever i need advice n , i always watch these body performance videos with steve terrano. awesome stuff here.

  • Thanks! I like that!

  • he's sort of the bodybuilding/fitness version of Jim Rome. I like the way he cuts out the BS...Great job!

  • hey steve i have 2 questions

i ate 3 hotdogs with little cheese balls

already in the hotdog is that a lot of food

and with no bread for breakfast.

and why when i workout i only sweat on my head and not the rest of my body.

    is this good.

  • Hey dude If your trying to lose weight.. Eat 6 times a day with low calorie dose and drink lots of water belive it or not the more you eat the Bigger your matabolism increases

  • Thank you!

  • man

    good job

    gob bless your honosty

unlike these stupid faggs on youtube that only want money and views

i will tell all my freinds to subscribe you channel

    thank you

  • keeping it simple, steve... congrats

  • Thanks!

  • What is your e-mail address and I'll send you the audio answer I sent him.

  • Hello steve, i have the same Problem as Blurredman1, do u have any suggestion?

  • Well, I've been lifting a long time but I was pretty muscular by the time I was 22 BUT I worked out consistently. And that is the key with staying fit, regardless if it's building muscle or cardio endurance. Stressing your body 4-5 days a week.

  • Hi Steve

Excellent advice you give on here. My question is this...I am 40yrs old, 6'1, 180 pound and want to gain approx 10 pounds of muscle but find it very difficult despite hard workouts and eating 5 good size meals per day of protein and brown rice. How many grams of carbs should I be eating per day to start seeing those muscle pumps and fullness, my muscles seem to be flatter than they used to be, and I feel like I am going backward? Thanks

  • and yeah i was just reading the question below about kickboxing what will kickboxing give you in terms of body wise without lifting weight like you do have to clintch with people and try to outpower them to get the muay thai plum so wouldnt all that stuff build muscle and you to pushups and all that at kickboxing because i used to do it

  • say you do cardio in the morning and you have 2 cups of coffee is this bad to have before you do a intense cardio session?

  • Not at all.

  • You should wait to have coffee til after 12noon, since won't negatively affect circadium rhythym... apparently you get a better boost to!

  • Life's not fair-really??

    Well that sucks!!

    Nice vid anyway

  • You really have to lift weights to develop bigger, stronger muscles.

  • hi steve im wondering if kickboxing builds muscle because when i go to kickboxing and when im done the next day im really sore so im wondering if this actually builds muscle or do you have to lift weights

  • You're welcome. Keep up the good work!

  • I play Soccer and Basketball, and the things you teach, help me a lot. I am a sophomore, 15 yrs old and height wise i am 6 4". I have always wanted to incorporate both muscle building and cardio into my training.Thank you so much. You are great. .

  • Hello i'm 17 and am 200lbs, i enjoy weightlifting and going to the gym. I have a 34/5 inch waist, 50 inch chest, 17inch neck and arms. would you say that is good or bad for someone who does this?

  • That's pretty good! Especially for somebody who is 17.

  • thanks =)

  • Thanks!

  • Dude your great!!!

  • YEs. increase your biceps strength (barbell & dumbbell curls) as well as working on other back exercises to strengthen the back. Ex ample -T-bar rows, 1-arm rows, reverse chins, seated cable rows, etc.

  • hey steve i can do 18 pull ups and i weigh 180 pounds. but i cant seem to improve on pull ups anynore , any advice?

  • Thanks Steve! I thought so!

  • different people respond to different type of exercises

  • You are correct. They require too much coordination and technique. The real purpose of a strength training technique or equipment is to stress and flex the muscle instensely and the is VERY difficult to do with kettle bells. If you want to BUILD muscle and strength much more effectively and efficiently I would much rather used dumbbells, barbells and machines.

  • Hey Steve, your videos are fantastic: sane, knowledgeable and clear! Keep up the good work and ignore the haters!

I wonder if you could do a video on kettlebells: I'm in the UK and they are everywhere here. My guess is that they are good for strength and endurance (not for bulk). But, all those snatches and flips, arent they an injury waiting to happen?

  • THANKS for clarifying this!

  • Sorry my website it screwed up. Hoping to relaunch in a month. IF somebody gets abnormally pumped in the gym it's typically a great indicator of steroids. Like the guys in the gym that don't seem to lift that heavy or intensely but they're jacked!

  • Hey steve, i couldn't get in touch with you on your website so i'll try to do it through your videos here on youtube! I'm wondering if you could do a clip on the "Pump". Why do some people just explode into the hulk in the gym when they get pumped up, and others just look the same (slightly bigger i suppose, but not much).

    /regards johan.

  • Performance, abiltiy and strenght will not be the same but to build muscle you still have to stress them correctly regardless of body type. Same with increasing aerobic ability. I might not be able to run or jog as far or fast but I still have to do it to increase my aerobic ability.

  • hi steve, though i agree with most your vids, i don't with this one. not in a million years would an ecto lift as an endo or do the same cardio ever. come on. an ecto will focus on compound. also working out is AS important as eating right AND as resting right. It is a package you get into.

  • Believed it or not lifting is much more important that eating because lifting builds muscles, eating doesn't. Just lift intensely and regularly and your apetite will increase naturally. You might want to cut back on your running since that will burn up additional calories.

  • If I want to put on alot of muscle mass, how much calories do I intake a day? im 6ft 170, and if I am eating fat food is that bad or good for putting on muscle mass? (I run 5 days a week and lift)

  • Food is important but not nearly as important as working out consistently and intensely. Focus on a low fat balanced diet with lots of lifting! Remember food REPAIRS your muscles but the weight lifting builds your muscles. If it was just food that was important it would make us muscular instead of fat.

  • on average, how many calories would you say is burned during an intense workout?

  • Comment removed

  • Your website sounds like its gonna be helpful, awsome!

  • a lot of how you are today has to do what your ancestors did for work back in the day... I always say... if God gives you lemons make lemonade... as a child I always wanted to be slender.. I was always picked on for being overweight.. I lost weight and got healthier but it didn't matter what I did I always had extra fat even when I looked slimmer.. now I'm a powerlifter and instead of being made fun of for being over weight I have people come up to me after I lift and ask me questions

  • Hey steve, thanks for the information. I just have a quick question; I weigh 180 right now, very defined. If I wanted to go up to 200-210 (which is my goal). should I eat 2000, 2100 calories?

my workouts are very intense, and I do 45 minute cardio every day. I just don't know if it's as easy as eating more of what I allready eat to make the gains I want.

any advice on making these gains would be greatly aprechiated.

    Thanks,

  • I'll assume you want to be 200 lbs and defined. To do this you'll have to eat just a bit more but continue lifting hard and heavy. And gaining 15-20 of muscle without much fat will take time. Or you could just eat more and gain 15-20 pounds of fat but I don't think that's what you want.

  • how can you tell if someone takes steriods like i never will do them in my life but what are some signs like bj penn got his ass kicked by gsp ya i know gsp is natually bigger but like gsp does he have some signs of steriod use

  • lol Gsp is just a naturally bigger man and has just perfect genetics for muscles hes the athletic build hes talkign about in this video, and awsome videos steve! can you do me a favour and check out my video and tell me were i could use some improvements!?

  • Abnormal muscle size and growth (based on a short period of time.) Huge deltoids, especially rear delts. Thin skin. Incredible vascularity. Body acne. Somebody lifting very light weights but is abnormally large.

  • I'm not familiar enough with those test but I'm sure what you are taking, how much, how often and what tests you receive are factors. I saw Sherk and he did not look the same. He was much smaller and BJ Penn beat him silly.

  • hey steve great video i have a question about steriods is it possible to take steriods and still pass a drug test in pro sports like in the ufc sean sherk got caught for steriods and he was suspended for 1 year and after a year still came back and looked the same as he was 1 year ago and i thought when you take steriods and then dont take them you lose everything you got when you used steriods

  • As far as weigt loss is concerned, yes. Remember, you have to look at calories eaten and burned over weeks and months, not days. It's a moving average.

  • great video say i have a calorie intake of 1500 and in 2 days its 3000 calories say i eat 2800 calories in one day and the next day only eat 200 calories its the same because i still only consume 3000 calories is this ok

  • hi. i had to cut in man. ok. we loose weight while gaining muscle. it is a rule. for this process you need adecuate protein intake DAILY. 200 calories in a day will starve your muscles because there is no way to get the protein you need eating 200 calories. it's not good at all man. the mentality is also unhealthy. so today i eat 3 burgers and tomorrow a stick of celery... not good man. please read on this matter, steve has some good advice but it is very generalized to a big crowd. cheers.

  • It's bcoming stronger because it's bigger and can lift a larger % of it's total weight vs Bi or Tris. Therefore you notice it more. You also may work your chest harder causing greater changes. Plus some guys are strong bench pressers. My chest is strong but my biceps and back are much stronger by comparison.

  • great videos steve, I absolutely love them! You inspire me and keep me motivated. I do have 1 question: I've noticed my chest becoming stronger and more defined MUCH faster than my biceps/triceps. Is this because the chest is a larger muscle group?

  • Great video Steve! I'm an ecto and it's really hard at the gym with all those pumped up guys. Like you said, life's not fair but we can still win the game.

  • ok what if you drink to much what will happen to your performance

  • No it will not efect your performance. You'll be ok as long as you don't drink too much.

  • hi steve great video i got a question for you. will alcohol effect your endurance and cardio i know it has calories but if you work them in to your calorie deficit can it still effect your endurance

  • what if i workout until summer time because its too cold out side for cardio

    is that good.

  • Bastards, trainers at school told me I should limit certain exercises because I'm ecto/meso.

    Fuckers.

  • Nothing!

  • I have a question. Someone said to me that if I was to put 1 apple 1 banana and 1Orange into a blender and make it into a fruit juice, that turns it into 1 fruit? How did they even come up with this. If you are drinking the whole mixture whats the difference in eating it and drinking it?

  • You should talk about the metabolism, Like how alot of people that take advantage of how skinny they are now are not going to be in a few years lol.

  • i dont know if you know about wrestling but it's a tuff sport and do you recomend a certain muscle to work on for it?

  • your back and shoulders

  • No. Just increase your overall strength by training all your muscles. That's the best thing to do for any sport.

  • Thanks a lot Steve, this was a great help.

  • Steve your the man. I've watched alot of your videos. I like that you are bluntly honest. "life is unfair". lol. Alot of people need that too shake them out of atrophy. I found this true in myself as well. But after working out and cleaning up my eating i've seen some weight loss and muscle gain. Thanks for your inspiring and informative videos. "Love your body".

  • Thanks! And keep up the good work!

  • Steve I have a question for you, I've been training for a while now and I see that chest is not symmetrical, the left part of my chest seems to be bigger then the right part, now the question is how do I train to get symmetry? Do I add more weight to the right side when I do bench presses ? Do I do I train with dumbbells ? I can't do one handed pushups pls help me

  • Remember, nobodies body is symmetrical. Mine isn't. People's left and right sides are shaped differently. That's just the way we are. Don't worry about it. You're the only one who notices. Just train hard.

  • hey I herd that if my "genetics" will not allow me to get ripped and big no matter how hard I work out I will not I will only be "in shape" is this true

  • you can have the worst genetics in the world but EVERYBODY can build muscle! FACT you want to get big and strong you gotta EAR EAT EAT! my friend.

  • anyone can get ripped if you lower your body fat and put on muscle no genetics in that just hard work and good meals.

  • Getting RIPPED (meaning low body fat AND lots of muscles) is difficult for anybody. BUT everybody has to do the same thing just some people don't have to do it as hard or as long. This means you may have to work harder or longer.

  • I love your videos! You definitely put it out there in a way that everyone can understand and you know what you're talking about!

    :]

  • Thank you!

  • excellent advice, it helps me keep motivated to work out.

steve, if i got your idea right, i know how to develop your website.

  • steve what is the ab king pro? and do u think i shud get it?

  • No, just do more cardio and weight assisted sit ups

  • Save your money. It's just another gimmick. Stick with crunches and lowering your daily calories.

  • Steve lot of my friends are doing this thing called P90X...what do you think about it?

  • It's ok but it won't give you any more results than regular lifting. And some of their selling points aren't quite accurate.

  • Shouldnt fat people do more isolation excersizes?

  • first comment :) keep it up steve :) fucking nice video
