@mikintil. Yep. A.R.E. Weapons are often accused of "copying" SUICIDE. A harsh critique of a late 1990's NYC Noise-rock band, who admit the band formed out of the love of the Velvet Underground, the Ramones, the Stooges and Suicide. In 2005 and in 2007, A.R.E. released 2 albums driven by heavy synths and drum machines; clearly tributes to Velvet and Suicide. The boys of A.R.E. Weapons started an ongoing collaboration with one of the their all-time heroes Alan Vega, back in 2008.
@cliklab The Suicide influence is definite - But I don't find they sound thaaat much alike, it's mostly in the vocals - The music isn't nearly as minimalistic and nihilistic as Suicide. Both are great bands, in my opinion though.
