The song is absolutely beautiful.. :) And the lyrics are: Personent hodie Voces puerulae Laudates jucunde Qui nobis est natus Personent hodie Voces puerulae Laudates jucunde Qui nobis est natus Summo Deo datus Ideo, ideo, ideo gloria in excelsis Deo

  • Interesting use of greek/latin/hebrew letters in there to code in your english sentences, I thought it was just a phrase in Latin until I decoded the letters hehehe.

Anyone who is curious, the sentence in the beginning says "This is who we are."

And the last one says, "And there is no denying it."

    ^_^

  • very beutyfull video and song.

The greeks on begining you put it in luck?

  • The song is Personent hodie

  • @raxo00swing Yes it is :) But this version is very different, they took alot of the lines out and I love how the music is, it seems haunting yet the lyrics are joyful.

  • it's very beautiful

  • It's called: in excelsis Deo. Someone already said it in the comments, but a while ago ;). It's really amazing!

  • hey this isnt in german idk who sings it or wat its called but its an english christmas carol!! my parents love to play this!!

  • Isn't this the song in the Elfen Lied manga?

  • no, that's Lilium (the opening) or Be your Girl (the ending)

    Lilium is very different

  • I said Elfen Lied MANGA not the ANIME.

I.E Song of the Elves AKA Elven Song

  • Elfen Lied mean's Elf Song

    and manga's don't have songs

  • The song in the manga IS from an actual song known as Elven Song.

Get this. The anime was adapted from the manga. Elfen Lied means Elven Song. Elven Song was replaced by Lilium in the anime.

And there IS an Elven Song in real life, composed by the same person who composed Lilium. Hugo Wolf.

  • I know what an anime is...

    I haven't read the manga I'm too young....sorry

  • No, but it's beauty, too. ^^

    LG

  • I don't think this is the song. I know what you're talking about though.

  • To johnnydepp905, the song is mostly in latin. Here are the lyrics.

    Personent hodie/Voces puerulae/Laudates jucunde/Qui nobis est natus

    [repeat] Summo Deo datus

Ideo, ideo, ideo gloria in excelsis Deo

His the doom, ours the mirth/When he came down to earth/Flower of Jesse's tree/Born on earth to save us/Him the Father gave us

    Ideo [...]

  • Now I now the name of the song but can someone please give me the name of the singer or a link?

  • Incredible... <3

  • Beautifull

  • Isn't this 'in excelsis deo' :p

  • Who sing and whats the name of the song?

  • Eduard Mörike wrote this song its actuly a poem they made it for the anime elfen lied

they sing this one in german i think

in the anime they sing it in japenise

  • @hultmanco

    Connie Dover- Cantus

This version seems to cut be sung by someone else but it's the same melody and lyrics.

    The very original is called

Personent hodie, which is a Christmas Carol

The original has a happier melody and is often sung in a choir while the Cantus version took many lines out in the first minute and a half (what we're listening to now :) )
