geese man nice. i have the same specs and running windows vista ultimate black edition v2 on a hp pavilion dv6000 and mine boots up in about well i think a little over a minute. i wish mine was this fast >>
Yes, too true tek, within the first 25seconds some seconds suddenly speed up, it also running about an extra 10 seconds faster than if it were in real time.
You are both idiots. I took this video with a cheap point-and-shoot digicam, I held the watch in view so you can see the clock skips with the video. There is nothing fake about this.
I advise to not use Norton for your computer protection, you will find on most computers it will slow them down. The start up time takes longer. AVG is lighter and will NOT slow down your computer, I think it's better than Norton :)
You are correct HometownGuitar. All software slows your system down, yet some software known as "bloatware" such as Norton Antivirus are a serious performance nightmare. If you want to get the most performance out of your PC, have it configured properly to begin with and leave out all the unnecessary software.
i agree..when i reformatted my computer (2gh Dual core) it went from an 8second boot (only xp on it) to a 50 second boot when i added norton...pretty gay if you ask me
I accidentaly deleted someone's comment by clicking remove instead of reply. That person noted that if I had messed with the vid, the time on the watch would reflect that. They are correct, that is why I held the watch in view. This is not tampered with and is a 1.8 GHz Turion 64 bit dual-core processor.
If you do a coldboot the fans etc have to start. it is a little different with hardware checks etc. maybe the difference is a few miliseconds, do a cold boot with precission timing :P
This comment is inaccurate. At this point in time quad-core processors are not fully utilized for any operating system, resulting in a higher speed dual-core still performing faster. Quad-cores are NOT currently such a huge improvement as the hype would lead you to believe.
He waited for the HP screen to come up first because that's the start of a regular boot up. The comment you just made only proved that you are an Apple fanboy.

It's not a cold boot, this is called a reboot. Cold boots take longer. :D
keldererik 4 years ago
um, no. You are incorrect. Cold boot or reboot, it takes the same amount of time.

I started the timer from the beginning of POST. From that point, cold boot or not, it would take the same amount of time.

I think you have manipulated this video, look, the seconds goes too fast , and Vista loading bar goes too quick, i think is a fake
sergiorz06 4 years ago
I did not manipulate this video. I took it will my point-and-shoot digicam's video feature, which is why it sucks and is jerky.
