I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Pit bill mix and he is by far the most loyal, obedient, smartest dog i have ever owned. He was adopted from a shelter, and i have a 3 yr old daughter who loves the hell out of him, he is her guardian. Its not the breed its the people.

Pit Bull Terriers are without a doubt the most abused breed of dog in the world and it's a real shame because these dogs, when treated decently, are not vicious and not a danger to anyone. I've seen dozens of Pit Bulls at dog parks and they are invariably well-mannered and non-aggressive dogs that play well with the other dogs. I have seen a few over aggressive Standard Poodles though. Who ever would have guessed, huh? Pit Bulls, more than most other breeds, are what you make of them.

I had a light brown pit bull named Vita that my bf and I raised from a pup...she went missing one day along with her son Knut we later realized that they had been shot in a field behind our house in the country...she grew up with two jack russells and our now 2 yr old son...What I would give to have just one more day with her...she is missed dearly. Put two Pit Bulls in the same room for the first time, who were never in a fight and the first thing they'll do is fight. I have a Pit Bull and I never let him fight any other dog, but the first thing he wants when he sees another dog is to fight it. I tried to make him socialize with other dogs from a very young age, but he doesn't want to. It's in his genes. And his parents were never in a fight two.
Punish the owners for the crimes their animals commit and hold them accountable for the the way they keep their animals. I had a light brown pit bull named Vita that my bf and I raised from a pup...she went missing one day along with her son Knut we later realized that they had been shot in a field behind our house in the country...she grew up with two jack russells and our now 2 yr old son...What I would give to have just one more day with her...she is missed dearly. Put two Pit Bulls in the same room for the first time, who were never in a fight and the first thing they'll do is fight. I have a Pit Bull and I never let him fight any other dog, but the first thing he wants when he sees another dog is to fight it. I tried to make him socialize with other dogs from a very young age, but he doesn't want to. It's in his genes. And his parents were never in a fight two.

My co-worker, a 56 y/o woman who got a pitbull but NEVER trained the dog to attack, the pitbull got out of the yard and my co-worker was talking to her neighbor, pitbull then attacked the neighbor sending her to the hospital with multiple wounds in her legs, dog was put down and owner never, NEVER trained the dog to attack.

i used to be terrified of pit bulls until my girl friend's brother asked me to dog sit his one year old pit bull, vera while he was deployed in iraq. vera quickly made me and my doberman, bubba, fall in love with her.& taught me to not judge anyone before getting to know them first.

I have female one.......I have no words to descrive how wonderful she is not only with children and other people, she is lovely whith other animals too. Please remember, only humans kill for fun.

SouthPWF you know what you're talking about; MissSixtiesPennyLane, you're probably one of those pieces of sh*t i was talking about. if you wanna take out an entire species that enhabits this planet then you are barking up the wrong tree. there is no way that anyone would be able to live with themselves if they knew they were a part of making something extinct. also if you wanna kill off pitbulls, then why don't you kill of sharks too. i hear they kill more people a year then all pitbulls

for someone to allow those dogs to be harmed like that is unnacceptable. for all those who took part or stood by and watched this tragedy happen, I say they should be cast out in the middle of the worst shark infested waters and left to die, no they should be watched as they watched these dogs die. i hope that one of those people read this and decide that they are waistes of breath and should find the nearest gun and end our misery of having to be within the same era of these pieces of sh*t.

so jus bcuz a pitbull has a harder bite than a daschund, it makes it ok for a daschund 2 bite????? i think not!! My kids and all the kids around my house play and have been playin with all 13 of my pitbulls and neva once have there been 1 to get bit. but my daughter did get bit by the mutt thats runs the streets free!!
